Am I the only one who really enjoyed watching Cassie get f*cked up by Shao Khan after talking shit about beating Shinnok for what felt like the millionth time?
To be honest I wish mortal kombat always had a good guy and bad guy ending, just so I can watch them get their asses handed to them for being so annoying with the constant shit talk. Yeah I definitely enjoyed that

Nope you ain't, Cassie definitely inherited her father's arrogance on that one. It was painful to see her lying on the ground broken after the beatdown though
Shinnok is more powerful than shao Kahn she only beat him bcuz she has power to defeat gods which shao Kahn is t a god so that power is like normal cassie basically and normal Cassie’s attacks had absolutely no effect on shinnok either as seen in mkx and people need to rewatch that they completely ignore and forget that! But yes she was annoying but she bragged bcuz she’s aware he’s one of the strongest beings after kronica. Again,Cassie’s power is kryptonite to shinnok it’s not even Meant to be a power up and I’m sure he does to a point but it’s sole purpose is directly to defeat elder gods which canonically have been both stated and proven to be more powerful than shao Kahn. He didn’t last a few moments against the gods even being super powered ho in mk9 yet shinnok without any power ups just being at his full power warred with the elder gods in a war that lasted centuries. He almost defeated the elder gods theh barely managed a win over shinnok but he came very close to winning and shao Kahn lasted a few minutes and miserably failed that he tanked a single attack from them alone proved not to be of any relevance later as he was quickly put down ant again shinnok could not be put down this war alone of who stood agains the elder gods much longer and actually almost won is the proof you need in story relevance or shinnoks superiority over shao Kahn. Shinnok just gets shit on by plot purposes which sucks

It really looked stupid. Especially when in this story, both Shao Kahn and Sindel were once betrayed by Quan Chi. Like, shouldn't they be thinking "one dark sorcerer once betrayed us, maybe we shouldn't trust another dark sorcerer much?". It would be cooler if the scriptwriters of the game gave three endings. Liu Kang's ending is good, Shao Kahn's ending is bad, and Shang Tsung's ending is very bad. )))

Shao kahn was excellent at magic and kombat and he was a god and trained by onaga.
Shao Kahn says that about everyone literally. Even people who literally destroy and kill him! He speaks out of pure arrogance and not actually knowledge. He talked crap about liu kang,who defeated him multiple times in the games. He talked crap about the elder gods they quickly disposed of his ass even though he was powered up immensely in mk9 and he talked crap about kronica who is more powerful than him and also talked crap about Shang tsung in aftermath and again he was proven wrong very quickly put down by pure magic alone and no “kombat or muscles like he always boasts about specifically shinnok” Shang tsung killed him with a single attack and even raiden and Fujin lasted longer against him. Shinnoks always been stronger than shao Kahn but shao Kahn prefers physical fights shinnok prefers magic. A magic that can literally kill you with a thought as he did to reptile in mk4. Shinnok is the emperor palpatine of mk and shao Kahn is the darth vadar who takes the face but really the more frail looking ones are stronger and it’s CLEARLY already been stated cassie ONLY defeated shinnok because she has the power to take down elder gods which mind you are stronger beings even individually than shao Kahn they’re the strongest beings in mk existence besides kronica and the one being. Elder gods have been stated from the beggining to be the strongest yes this includes shao Kahn he’s nothing more than a petty ruler and if you wanna go by what shao Kahn says look at Quan chi roast shao Kahn in favor of shinnoks power in mythologies. Quan chi faked serving shao Kahn because he serves a stronger master beint shinnok. Shao Kahn at his prime could not even come close to taking the elder gods down despite being powered up immensely and shinnok IS an elder god a beint who’s stronger than shao Kahn but he also waged a long war against the elder gods and raiden and he nearly overthrew them he has to be imprisoned and had his power separated into his amulet and had his own power within his amulet sealed away guarded by all 5 elemental gods being earth wind water fire thunder. With wind being fujin and raiden being the last resort in case they fail. Yes shinnok waged a war that lasted centuries against the elder gods yes he almost won with them and raiden barslt managing a victory over them. Yes,shinnoks been weakened for majority of the story and yes shao Kahn has always been amped most of the series as well. In shinnoks normal base full power he is stronger than shao Kahn was with a major soul boost amp. The proof? Well look at how long shao Kahn lasted against the elder gods. He ranked one blast and that didn’t matter as they quickly killed him in moments later anyway and with shinnok they struggled in a long war that they almost lost to defeat him. Shao Kahn never dared face the elder gods he only battled them in mk9 bcuz he was forced to at that point. The gap between battling them for a few moments and then the other beint shinnok lasting a war that lasted centuries is a massive difference. Once again thst alone is the proof you need when comparing the two. One was massively powered up beyond his normal full power limits and still failed terribly and then shinnok was NOT powered up he was in his natural true state beint an elder god at full power and he lasted far longer against the same gods shao Kahn was quickly killed against. What can you argue about this now? This is mk plot cannon events also not just shao Kahn talking crap when he’s known to speak crap out of pure arrogance. Proof in that once again was when he battled the elder gods he failed liu kang he failed later thinking he can destroy Shang tsung in aftermath just because shao Kahn is physically bigger than Shang tsung was literally the biggest mistake of his life shang tsung swelt him off his feet in a single blow with pure magic the same powerful magic shinnok wields only even stronger at this point. Again,cassie tried to attack shinnok at first and he attacks had absolutely NO EFFECT on shinnok at all. Go rewatch mkx when cassie initially battled shinnok her attacks are completely useless and he’s completely invulnerable to her attacks. That again proves that she’d face the same defeat at shinnok if she hadn’t summoned the powers to defeat elder gods. Shao Kahn isn’t an elder god and because of that her attacks have no effect like they did against shinnok initially. People completely forget that cassie alone cannot even hurt shinnok it was only her magic that enabled her to and that magic is basically not a power up but just krptonite to shinnok only it’s the one thing he couldn’t defeat. Cassie power has no effect on shao Kahn he’s not a god this is why he lost. It’s that simple. Shinnok doesn’t fear the elder gods and directly ravaged the heavens almost taking over and killing them all. Yes,he failed but he almost succeeded skd shao Kahn didn’t even come close to this in mk9. That shinnok lasted centuries against a long war against the elder gods and was barely defeated is a long difference from shao Kahn’s pathetic few minutes struggling to survive against them. Shinnok is not weak against physical brutes like shao Kahn Shang tsung alresd proved a being with powerful magic can and will easily kill a brute who maybe physically stronger than the magical being. Shinnok is weak against magic itself being Cassie’s power.
Fir the shitty-ass retcon of Sindel, her & Shao Khan’s relationship was something that I didn’t expect and actually liked. They are one of the few villainous couples who actually love each other, something that both humanizes them and makes them even more terrifying.
agree. they are both sadistic tyrants, with a lust for power, but at the same time we see how they are gentle to each other, care for each other and trust each other. These relationships added humanity to their characters. Unlike For example, Shang Tsung who betrays everyone all the time and has no loyalty or trust in anyone but himself.

They did him dirty in this game, even though aftermath did him justice they still ruined it by shang tsung easily playing and fooling him. He literally trained and saved shang tsung. He created him. He should have seen his betrayal from miles away and actually punished him. Because shao kahn is really smart and intellectual and not just this mindless brute beast. I wish instead of shang tsung we got an ending for shao kahn. He deserved it. He is literally the big bad of mk. The darkseid or thanos of the universe. Only raiden and fire god liu kang should be able to properly defeat him

@@jbourbon3734 Shao Kahn canonically did not teach Shang Tsung how to consume souls. That's something that only exists in the 90's movie, but contradicts the lore from the games. Shang Tsung was well established and quite dangerous in Earth Realm before he was exiled/outcast and essentially forced to ally with Shao Kahn.

I imagine that with liu kang and shao they have a similar amount of strength although it doesn't explain how he lost to kitana, I guess he broke all of his bones before the kotal execution somehow.

He did not have the powers in the soul chamber back then. Souls strenthen him. The man literally taught Shang Tsung soul magic. It is only logical that he needs soul magic to become more powerful.

Beat who ? Liu Kang ? They are mostly equals but Liu Kang gets the Edge most of the time. Shao Kahn had alredy billions of souls even in mk2 and he is Just as skilled If not more than shang tsung on soul magic. Even If he was dumbed Down here, Shao Kahn soloing Everyone here makes sense as he is supposed to do. This IS Shao Kahn pissed and taking things seriously. You can see How he easily destroys god revenant Kitana, kung lao, Cassie, Johnny, geras and (with a Lot of effort) Liu Kang when he stops joking around and fights Very seriously.
NRS turned every strong Male character into a joke, I mean the great Shao Kahn losing to Kitana, Cassie beating Shinnok, such utter bullshit!

I don’t like how Shao Kahn is portrayed in this game he looks Weak and Acts less Terrifying than in Mortal Kombat 9 Version of him. I like his Voice Actor Definitely did a really great job and his Armor is pretty good but I Absolutely Loved his Armor in Mortal Kombat 9.
What's the same about Odin and Shao Kahn, they both loose for the same reason.
A hero is only as good as its main villain. And I've never seen a company destroy it's main villain so bad before. they literally couldn't have made Shao Khan worse in MK11 if they tried.
