When I was a kid growing up in SF they were filming streets of San Francisco in our neighborhood. Micheal Douglas walked right past us and into his trailer when we tried to talk to him. Karl Malden came right over to us and said where is the nearest grocery store? We pointed up the hill two short blocks. Karl Malden said who wants ice cream? He walked our ragged herd up to the store and bought ice cream bars for all of us. He then sat down on the curb with us in the famous long trenchcoat and hat and asked each if us where we went to school and what grade we were in. We were over the moon! After that we loved karl malden and cancelled micheal douglas!🙏

Did you guys ever get a photo with Mr. Malden? Just curious but nevertheless, that's one of the best stories about Karl Malden I've herd.

Eleanor Schano is so elegantly dressed she looks like a star. Great interview with one of the heavies in motion pictures and television. I enjoyed Karl Malden's interview so much that I will now read his book. He was the star of my favorite television show, "The Streets of San Francisco." and I've liked everything he's ever done. What a wonderful human being Karl Malden is and was.

A lot of his interviews are like that, I think he was a bit shy and uncomfortable in interview programs. She was ill prepared so it didn't help. But if you hunt down Reflections on the Silver Screen, a 4 part interview, he opens up. Great interview.
