Not Just Sunday (December 1981 KDKA)
Просмотров 220Год назад
Not Just Sunday was a long running religious oriented show on KDKA, hosted by George Eisenhauer. Eisenhauer was better known for being KDKA's announcer and for doing many voice overs and commercials throughout the region. Very little of his on-air work survives. This show features his daughter, Cindy Baltzer, and her students from Grandview Elementary in Derry, Pa. Note: The slate says 1980, bu...

Johnny talking about not having politics on his show, something the current late night shows just can't understand.
Prime example of the most notorious Burgh accent...Cope😂
I remember that one. The line about North Carolina made it.
What a gem! Thank you so much, The Media Stash!
RIP Leslie Charlerson. Jennifer 😊
Is that Daniel J Travanti as the lawer?
The entertainment industry would do well if they took some notes from this guy 8:40
Whenever I watch Victor Borge, my one thought is that he is as legit a musician as he is a comedian!
Uni mart had some kind of relish that was yellow at the same time they sold these. It was not pickle relish to my knowledge. I wish I asked the workers what it was called.
Let's see if SHE pronounces it right - Nope.
The correct date is April 14th. Thanks for posting this.
It seemed like there was some tension there between Johnny and Mike. Was there?
I grew up in the 80s and 90s and Johnny's Tonight Show was a constant fixture in our house. Many nights I watched the show with my Grandmother and by myself as well. Good memories. RIP The King of Late Night.
Quality in, quality out. Being a youth in Ireland brought challenges, but it was a great country to be in, where courtesy and respect were high priorities
Pretty unsupportive on the sides they just implode with every stride. Cool old ads.
Koch would work well with todays left wing idiots
Amazing interview, thank you
I grew up in Wheeling... I had a date with this guy and the Three Stooges, every afternoon after school. (What a bonus to get to see the great Joe Negri play and sing!)
This was obviously taped off of the aforementioned KDKA given that the tail end of the day’s Pennsylvania Lottery drawing was shown before the broadcast.

This is a nice upload! My friend and I are trying to find a specific theme they would play during the community graphics they would post.
The summer of 1978 is when GH really started to take off and becoming more popular. Around this period the characters Heather Webber, Alan Quartermaine and Bobbie Spencer will be the focal point of this show (pretty much the villians) causing so much drama. Meaning, Heather discovering the Taylors adapted son PJ, is her biological son Stevenlars (that she gave up by the way on the black market) comes up with all kinds of schemes to get him back. Alan founding out that Rick and Monica had an affair, Monica might be pregnant with Rick's baby, Alan goes crazy and plots to kill them both. Bobbie founding out Laura was the one responsible for David Hamilton's death, gets with her brother Luke to plot, scheme to get Laura in trouble, so she can be with Scotty. Damn, GH was just phenomenal in the late 70s and early 80s.
"why would anyone be funny on tahiti?" jerry seinfeld says, well for one it's a funny sounding country, like if we named a place pop-tart, and two, it's pretty racist to say people in another country can't be funny and i'm sure he's worked with someone from there by now
It's funny; that's what the current Mayor, Eric Adams says about crime too, like Koch claimed 44 years ago, 'it's only a perception.' He must've been listening to Koch back then.
RIP Bill Bergey
Interesting that the opening theme and commercials are in black and white. I would have thought the sponsors would have wanted to shell out the extra bucks for color spots.
Decades to perfect this craft. Brilliant, Mr. Borge!
As of 2024 this broadcast is exactly as old (66 years) as the Nutcracker ballet was itself when this aired in 1958.
October 23 2025 will be Mr. Carsons 100th birthday. RIP Legend. Your fans miss you.📺
What a beautiful production. I wonder if ballet schools experienced a surge of enrollment after this was broadcast ?
As a 32 year old man, I would pick Carson over any other host ever. He was the best
It’s remarkable how defensive he is. Over, and over, he jabs, and not kindly as an interviewer, interviews.
Hal Linden knocked it out of the park!!!
This is neat! Since the mid 1970s, KDKA-TV has had an hour of local news between 6 and 7 p.m.
Cronkite was the greatest of all time. And I was not born for his time on the CBS Evening News.
A true professional whose like we will never see again!
0:26 watched him afternoons..fun show
❤️
RIP Sophie Masloff Myron Cope Willie Stargell Roberto Clemente Art Rooney Jack Loizeaux & Franco Harris “Thanks For The Memories!”
I remember watching this on live television when Three Rivers Stadium came crashing down. The biggest concern was its proximity to Heinz Field (Acrisure Stadium) which was only about 85 feet away. The good news is that the new facility escaped without a scratch.
1:57 saudi oil prices in 80's😮
I went to a store in Ft. Lauderdale in about 2000 where he had his clown painting. $500. I wish I had purchased some!
Good Lord, Imus can still bring a grin to my face.
Jerry ❤
What wit. Oh loved Johnny. Wish we still had ones like him
another person who is headed for the wrath of the creator.
Thank you for refreshing my memories with this presentation. ❤
Longest running comedy in TV history? It ran for one year as a standalone series.
One personality who wasn't mentioned was KDKA's Clark Race. He had a teen show on Channel 2 back in the '60s, as well as being a jock on KDKA-AM.
Killer band, for a moment i thought I had touched the reproduction speed, Jungle STRUT BURNS !!!🔥🔥🔥
