nice review! happy to hear all the combinations of clean sounds, which are usually missing in other reviews.
Thanks! Such dope pickups.
those sound great! very crisp and the clarity is amazing.
Yea next will be Fluence loaded strat pickguard. 🤘🤘
@@alwaysandy_ wow that will be very nice
@@alwaysandy_ Put a set in a strat style guitar years ago.NOT looking for pick-ups for it anymore
Waooo thanks for this wonderful review with clean sounds I’m amazed of that clean sound, I’m sold
I just recently bought a new RG 5120b. It came with Fishman Fluence Moderns. I wasn’t sure if I would like them, but figured I could always swap them out. Playing this guitar is what I imagine driving an F1 car would be like. That said, the pickups are maybe my favorite part. I’ve been in love with a Dimarzio Satuchur8 in another RG for a couple of years now. It sounds bland compared to the Fishmans. I have another new RG coming in this week and have a set of Tosin Abasi Fishmans ready to replace the stock Tone Zone/Air Norton combo. These pickups are unreal.
You’re gonna love that setup!!!
I just traded an acoustic guitar for this 7 string and wanted to just throw some Fishmans on em and locking tuners.
Those really complete that guitar. Btw, I like what you did with the headstock. Was there paint already underneath that black veneer or did you do it yourself?
I sanded the headstock black paint a good bit and painted and glossed it. Decal from eBay. A bit of work!
hey, great video! I hope your finger is ok by now. I have a question: so the set comes with 2 vol and 2 treble pots , obviously most 7 string gits do not have 2 of each originally. So there no problem still using these 3 modes for each pickup using only one vol and only treble pot?
thanks, greetings from germany
p.s. are you still enjoying the set to this day? Or has there an annoying aspect appearing over the last 12 month; i am still struggling if it is the right "allround" set for me playing different styles.
🤘💥 hallo! With on tone knob I have two positions - in and out. So not 3 tones but 2 tones per pickup selector position. I do still like them, and they are versatile. My finger is fine yes thx 😂🙏🔥
Great video , did u cut the hole for the battery urself . Or did you use the usb cover that are available to buy
My battery is currently taped to the back soooooo 😂😂 I still haven’t gotten to it. I’ll prob do a cover usb thingy if there’s room. Otherwise yea I’ll drill a giant cavity for it with a generic battery pocket.
Good reveiw,I'm late to the party...Hope the finger is All healed up..Do you think the Abasi's would fit a Kiesel Osiris? I have 1 just like yours that you reviewed.Sweet guitar.. Had a Strandberg 6 with Fishman Modernes in it.Wish I still had it.The Abasi pick-ups sound amazing.I play more clean to mid breakup.Single coils sounded great and no mud in the humbuckers was impressive. Definite step up from the modernes,IMHO....Best Regards.
Sure they put em in Kiesels from the factory if desired.
Can you tell me wich 5 way switch you took or you use the factory switch from the ibanez guitar
Has to be a “super switch” 5 way blade. My local guitar ship had one on the wall.
Did you had to mod the guitar for the tosin abasi 7 string pickup to fit?
No. If you get the ones that fit in a mounting ring and not the soap bar style they drop right in.
Hey Andy are you still rocking these Tosin pickups? If so, how do you feel 6 months in?
Yea I use them all the time. Still love em!
@@alwaysandy_ Thanks for your video and thoughts. I can really relate to a lot of your comments. I also always have my tone control on 10 and have been searching for great clean tones to go with mid and high gain. I love strat position 5 for clean rock tones but also need clean and dirty neck position tones which isn't easy to find. Your video has inspired me to find a guitar to install Tosin pickups because I think they sound great and I can't believe they're not more popular (don't like Tosin's signature guitar). Cheers.
@@CaptainWhiteman7 yea it’s expensive as hell
Single coils almost have a piezo vibe to them
True! 💥🔥
I found it strange when you mentioned the 5-way and what each position does. How do you get just the bridge single coil - I think you said position 2 is BOTH single coils, so how does this get a tele or strat single coil bridge position sound? (I think on the Fishman wiring diagram this "position 2 is two singles" method is consistent across other artist series pickups. Is there a way to wire it to get more combinations, including just inner coil of bridge, just outer coil of bridge, etc.? - like in the video here: ruclips.net/video/VGFtq0Kx7BI/видео.html - - of course that would be overkill, but it might be nice to have just the inner coil of the bridge pickup) (Thank you for not waiting for your finger to heal. Maybe the video would have never been made!)
I just wired it the way they said to.
