    • @stanb1455
      @stanb1455 2 года назад

      Also, could it be possible to use a more powerful CPU? I mean, space for cooling is limited, so maybe not.

    • @indridcold2840
      @indridcold2840 2 года назад +1

      Yes, it's more powerful than the Vega 8 but it will not help decrease the on die Temps due to the way an APU works. Unless you specifically limit the power draw, any power that would be going to the IGPU goes to the CPU instead. APUs share Thermal limits, without a DGPU they have to balance the power delivery between the CPU and IGPU. So if a APU maxes out at 45 watts, it's splitting that 45 watts between the 2. Anything that requires any acceleration will be handled by the DGPU if one is there so all 45 watts or whatever wattage to be delivered goes straight to the CPU, negating any possible Thermal gains that might be achieved by having a DGPU. Hope this helps. Cheers

    I recently bought this case and I have the Inwin B1 200w power supply I am planning to do a project like this.
    At the beginning I planned to put a 5700g but for the price of that processor I was able to get a 1650 LP I only need to buy it but I have doubts about how much the system would consume with an 8-core processor and thus take advantage of the 5800x that I have in my main PC.
    I don't play much, in fact only overwatch on low is what I use the most besides 3D modeling / texturing I want to have a mini pc to be able to take it everywhere and this case is perfect for this.

    I really like these mini PC builds from you +ETA PRIME , I really do!
    With this I would change two or three things and you also *forgot to show/ mention two things!*
    First it would be really interesting to go with a Ryzen 3600 or 2700 with this GPU! Because you do not use the integrated GPU anyways the Ryzen 5700G is kinda "wasted" here, isn't it?
    But since CPU utilisation isn't that high, a six core or even older 8 core would bring the same results, wouldn't they?
    Second I like the form factor of the case but I do have some 2,5" SSDs laying around here and this could be a good way to use them. Maybe for androidX86, maybe for a linux/ emulation distro. So at least 2 bays would be cool ... the ports are available on the board.
    And than I wonder how a 1650 Super or 1660 would fit in there? Is the PSU the limiting factor? Does it come with at least a single 4 Pin plug?
    You forgot to mention the SSD completely and I couldn't spot it on the board either?! I assume it's an nVme ... which is fine of course but for a second or third pc the re-use of older SATA drives would work fine as well imho.
    The power wattage would have been good to know. How much of that 350 Watts are being used with a 75 Watt graphics card?
    And last you didn't mention the cost of this build! I know it differs when you already have parts available and right nor prices are high ... but for me it's always a big difference if a system is more in the 300, 600 or even 900 bucks region.
    That's why I bought an OEM HP Pavilion 590 myself. Small case, but not as SFF as the one in your video. Ryzen 2200G brings enough power for video playback, game streaming and also older PC games I got in my back catalogue. 256 GB nVme SSD inside, 180 Watt power supply, many ports and USB 3, DVD drive and it came with a DDR4 2666 stick which I changed into 2x8 GB DDR4 3200 Crucial. I payed 145 € for the PC and 35 € for the RAM and I am setting up the system right now.
    It replaces an old XBox One S that I can sell for like 120 bucks right now ... So I am good for trying out game streaming, android on my TV, Windows 11 and maybe some emulation if I find out how to find those games. I really would like to try older AMIGA 500 games again.
    And since I also got a GTX 1050 Ti already laying around I will try to use it in the system with this 180 Watt PSU. Not sure if it's going to be okay. (Therefor the power consumption of your system would have been nice!) But buying an OEM HP PSU is kinda expensive and therefor a pain in the ass.
    So thank you for your input, greetings from Germany "und Auf wiedersehen!"
    p.s. If you already build a system with an APU and a GPU, the difference between these two would have been nice to know! I discovered that even with a GTX 1050 2GB GPU games like Forza Horizon 5 run on high at about 50 fps. So the leap with and without the discrete graphics cards is always good to know.

    Ahhh, i had some great plans for a build using this case. I used a hole saw to create a 120mm fan slot above the cpu where i put an ac infinity plate and filter, used a noctua nhl-12, had a custom enhance 600w flex psu, x570 itx w/ thunderbolt, ryzen 5800x, 32gb ddr4 3600mhz, but just couldn't find a decent price low profile gpu for the longest time. Decided it wasn't worth it, and now these parts are just sitting around.

      The 1650 is the most powerful low profile GPU I've found, but you can get much better GPUs in a similar form factor in cases that use a PCI riser cable to have the GPU behind the motherboard. You could get up to a 2070 in those.

    Have you tested thermals without the 2 fans blowing air directly into the 1650 cooler?
    Those intake fans are way too close to the GPU and most likely are adding only noise and turbulence inside the case.

    I ve got the case Goodisory A02 to and i find a solution for the temp.
    I replace the top of the case by mesh with 3D printed framework for put a higer CPU cooler, i put the Be quiet shadow rock LP.
    For the PSU i take the Silverstone FX350 and i moded it with Noctua fan.
    You can't connect the fan on the PSU the contrôler dosn't recognized it, so i connect it on mother board and control it in the bios.
    It is very quiet now.

    Couldn't this have performed just as well with the slightly cheaper 5600X since CPU usage never really jumped much over 50%? Also you could use a Pico-PSU on a low power build like this to free up space for additional cooling

    Not a fan of this build. sure you can game a bit with that GPU but the price is not good at all. The pandemic has warped prices to the point that this might make sense for some but it's honestly insulting to pay $280 USD for a 1650 low end card. The gains over the 5700G integrated graphics are not great enough to justify $350 USD or more when you factor in shipping.
