Same here, I completely doubted him but honestly they did him some justice cause he was calm and collected through what happened also remained loyal to his captains.
I actually love how you fight with Hijikata only in a sparring match. Hijikata is a cold but cool guy and had suffered because the class system like Ryoma and others members of the Shinsengumi. The fact that RGG didn't creat clonfit for the sake of the conflit was really great.

@@professortree9387 def not a hot take considering Ryuji lot to Kiryu while wielding a katana lololol besides that Mine is one of the few guys that has Kiryu both visibly bruised and breathless by the end of their fight. Most others even among big shots only fill one of these two criteria
@@dionotdio yeah, even the game describes Mine to be his arch-nemesis if I remember correctly. putting combat aside, Mine stole the show in 3. his design was amazing, despite what he did to the morning glory orphanage. he had class, knew how to keep calm in most situations, and when he lost his temper, he becomes real terrifying unlike most of the villains. what helped balance the evil shit he's done was the fact that if Mine respected you, and was loyal to you, he would show it. obviously, Daigo had that respect, and the way Mine stood up for him in the plane ride with his underlings talking shit about him was a key example of what Mine will do out of respect and loyalty for someone. although he was going to kill Daigo in the end, that was only when he felt utterly hopeless that Daigo would recover. and when he did, he was in shock, worried about what Daigo would think of him after everything he's done to betray the Tojo clan. Ryuji had respect toward Kiryu, and showed a soft, caring side at the very end with Kaoru. but throughout the game he was fairly snobby and cocky, character wise that while it made his final moments all the more tender, it was still fairly short lived.
To me Mine was the best aspect of whole game. Struggling through whole Blockuza just to reach boss with banger soundtrack and unique aura-switching moveset, who doesn't even blocks often, I consider as one of best memories I have of the franchise. Haven't played modern Dragon Engine games and K1 yet, so far other final bosses I fought didn't felt so challenging comparing to him (maybe excluding Nishiki from OG1.) Maybe Mine didn't had plenty of flashy QTEs like Aizawa or Shibusawa but still fighting him was a blast from start to end. Felt weird seeing his unique moveset being reused on like half of tougher Colisseum fighters in 5.
In a similar way to “Receive you, Reborn” they managed to capture that same feeling of epic confrontation with a modern twist. (Or in Ishin’s case, a traditional one) Sure, it can never replace the original, but goddamn does it sound amazing? Absolutely!
I love how all the trailers hyped Hijikata up as this iron fisted leader of The Shinsengumi but in game he's earnest, loyal and one of Saito's closest allies to the point they call each other brother. Hell, even his boss fight is just a friendly duel spurred on by the fact that they're the only two who haven't fought yet. Nakamura portrays him masterfully and Soar really captures the closeness that the surviving members of The Shinsengumi share with each other.
Thats good because you can save before it and can instantly have it play. Unfortunately the last boss theme you have to go through a lot to have it play
A killer leveled remix! If the original " Fly" shows how Kirin and Dragon rising and fitghting along the cloud, this remix also shows the power, the sadness of Hijikata, the demon vice-commander of Shinsengumi.
They actually managed to rearrange OST for Ishin to sounds more modern compared to the original OST while adding Edo period element, again. Another example for that is As a Man As a Brave compared to original As a Man As a Brother.
