I often edit on the go and I would love to see you do a start to finish import from media cards right from the camera to the iPad and how to connect all of that together to get an edit going.
Great video! Hey, one thing I heard somewhere is there will not be an edit page for iPad (in regards to things like speed ramping controls etc..). They are working on doing the rest, but not the edit page. Now if they can just get the non-adjacent multi-select figured out.
Correct no edit page, regarding speed ramp you can technically do it with on screen overlay but ya it probably will be part of the cutpage key frame view when that comes probably with 19 🤔🤔
I’d love to see you give this a go on the iPad Mini.
I’ve seen some really creative solutions by developers for rendering their UI on different size screens and it’d be neat to see if it works on such a small screen.

Regarding sync that is possible on the cut page regardless of sync bin, it's icon near the relink clips in the media pool on the cut page, edit page is the only page not being added to the ipad version (& possibly media and export) bmd said it in their original press release
If BMD releases this on Christmas Day, that would actually be pretty cool!
You can do Video Clean Feed. You need to have the Studio version for it though. It's in the right-click on viewer to enable it. Also, you can Airplay.

My question doesn't get answered. Can I edit my video without having to import from my SSD? Like Lumafusion let me edit straight from the external SSD. My M1 iPad Pro 256gig fills up fast.
Correct, resolve does not move source files. If you hook up a drive with footage it does not use up iPad storage

@@thebrazilshow yes he sort of mentioned it but he didn't say can you just edits straight from the external SSD without importing.
Any idea if the free version will support H.264 (avc) 10-bit 4:2:2 encoded video (what I use on my GH5)? On my Mac, I have to use the paid Studio version to edit this directly without transcoding.

For all the pomp about davinci on an iPad Pro and being at one with touch and pencil etc. Surely its less complicated to just buy a 13" macbook pro or PC laptop which can run the full app? If you want an extra license for davinci just buy the BM speed editor
For sure sounds better, but for the ones who already have the iPad Pro sounds amazing, my i7 2018 MBP will no longer be mandatory for quick color grading my Sony Slog Footage. I frustrate a lot with LumaFusion.
Yeah, but most of these folks aren’t Pros or they’d save up and get /build a desktop. These are RUclips and TicTock people looking to make videos with their Tablet. Short stuff.
The few Pros in the mix who already have a big brother are looking at the iPad’s supplemental use for their workflows. It is handy to have a portable quick editing source that you can carry with no need for a table and such.
Will DaVinci work on ipad 1st gen and 2gen aka 2018 and 2020 ipads A12x and A12z
All we know is any device running ios16 will be able to download and use “limited functions” we just don’t know what the limitations are yet.
@@initialfocus The limited functions on the older iPad Pros are exporting to HD only, not 4K. Plus some of the more processor-intensive filter effects. As far as I understand it anyway...

You can set basically any timeline resolution you want (obviously performance will be hindered)

I certainly hope not! As we’ve seen with Final Cut and all their pro software they barely give attention to. Blackmagic has been making huge strides in updates. I’d like to see that keep happening.
