Great tour Joel, new Subscriber here, after working as a fitter & turner all my life here in Newcastle, at 62yo, I've started shooting weddings. lol I'm Based at Nelson Bay. It's great to know someone local who is entrenched in the Davinci Resolve system. I have the mini panel & the speed editor. My next step is the get the Ultra Studio 4k mini & set my calibration. Looking forward to more videos.😀🤘

if you can do a video on how to set up your computer to the LG as a main color grading tool using what you have would be great.

Great video! Always love seeing what other colorists have. Also, as far as cleaning monitors… Why are you touching them in the first place!! (Pet peeve, I don’t let anyone touch my monitors).

As someone who wants to take colorist work seriously and start getting into it professionally, the nittygritty of gear requirements is quite confusing. There is no real a-z walkthrough.
I am looking to get an EIZO monitor to get realtively good colors but dont get the difference between the ~2k, ~3k and ~4k buck models. They have inbuilt calibration software and you can get a 200buck probe for them.
So only other thing absolutely required is the bmd card (e.g. studio 4k)? Is that correct or do I need something more as an absolute essential to get such a setup up and running?
As a sidenote: Looking to upgrade from my windows laptop to a macbook pro.

It’s can be a lot of confusion. Best thing would be to get a monitor that meets the colour accuracy and colour space you intend to deliver in and calibrate that.
I would definitely suggest an ultra studio 4K as the display device for sure.
