Honestly crazy how I was just thinking if this works. Only thing Ide have aftermarket for a first start on my swap would be the fuel pump. Def hype now knowing the car would run 100% stock!
@@GoldSK96 yes. I run my k24A swap on the stock ecu for 2 month. I even race few times with no problems. For smog just make sure all your monitor is green and your good go.
You can pass CA smog with stock tune with the below aftermarket emission parts: -3" intake (Injen, aFe, K&N, AEM) make sure it has carb sticker for visual. - any race header just add an extension to the O2 secondary sensor and a defouler (will make CEL go away) - any exhaust - Aftermarket Fuel Rail mist be hidden with that plastic stock Intake Manifold Cover Most importantly go to a shop that doesn't check underneath the car, just engine bay, and do their tests outside. Hey gerb it's James glad to see you're still modding the Si, I still have mine too :) been a few years now. Info on the video, the car will absolutely run on the stock tune for smog but I would still recommend a tune for the most power and longest longetivity on a k24 swap after getting smog passed..... Also even though you're back on the stock tune you will still have some minor or power increases from those boltons, you're not running at true stock power, probably an extra 10 to 14 whp. The problem is the detonation at high rpms because of the increased airflow. I wouldn't rev the car out long term like that.
I’ve been messing with the si for awhile now.. I agree. For the time I ran it on stock, I did not take it into vtec aside from doing so in this vid. The car felt good stock, but I just love the “tuned” life. Thanks for stopping in 🤙🏼
Bro, you and I definitely have the same mindset regarding running oem. I live in Cali and smog is a PITA. That's why when I dyno tuned my Si, I ended up not going with the RDX injectors because information online states it wouldn't run right without a tune. Otherwise, I would've went that route. Thanks for being the only person on youtube who actually addresses legitimate questions. Good luck, hope you passed smog.
@@GoldSK96 honestly, not sure but most people on forums suggest that a fuel pump upgrade is not necessary unless you go forced induction and/or built. Otherwise OEM fuel pump would suffice for any FBO/OEM upgrade (for example RRC mani, Tsx cams, etc). Also why I kept my pump OEM.
Do you have any CEL after running? I got a lean code and can’t get all the emissions monitors to set after flashing my 8th gen si with K24 to stock for smog.
You s aid "best gas mileage" in "stock" form. You couldnt be more wrong Gerb... I get easily 5 MPG more after I was etuned with FBO. The advantage being the tuner knows how to tune the ecu for better MPG while also making more power under throttle. I suggest you get a little more up to speed about tuning in general, because sometimes you say stuff thats rather ignorant. Your phrase "run stock" is very muddy. You are running a k24 on a "stock" 8th gen ecu? That is totally unsafe in the long run, and I would not attempt to even hit VTEC. Now half your viewer base thinks they can go slap all these 'go fast' parts on their civics and just run the stock ecu. They're gonna go waste 1,000$ on some shitty fuel rail, a fuel pump and a slap on intake thinking they are doing the car a favor. How do you think the engine will benefit from any aftermarket parts WITHOUT the engine ECU being TUNED to support the modifications?
What idiots asked “will your K24 run stock?” 😳 Like what kinda dumba$$ question is that !?!?!? WHY TF WOULDNT IT 🤯 I can’t even bro, I just can’t, let’s get this swap goin!!! 😎
So basicaly what your saying is that I can take my engine out of my car. Running a stock ecu. And just plug it roght in and it’ll work just fine to daily
I’ve passed emissions without removing my hondata, but i did need a special tune where parameters were turned back on lol
Which state did you do this in?
okay i’m saving this video tonight when i pour some drinks on the big screen
🍻

Will any aftermarket fuel pump work with stock tune to pass CA smog? I want to get the Deutschwerks fuel pump and still pass smog
Thanks for the videos. We have a lot in common - k20/k24 swap planned. Videos are helpful and informative.
Would K20/K24 run on stock tune for CA smog without throwing CEL?

I live in so cal, smog every 2 years, have a 9th gen si fbo. Long as there are no lights on in the dash, pass everytime.
Which bolt-ons and supporting mods do you have?
@GoldSK96 non stop tunning pulleys, takeda stage 2 intake, plm catted down pipe, invidia q300 and skunk stage 1 cams.
_love it man, cool vid👏🏼…gotta say I’m still getting use to the split personalities of trucker & tuner😭❤_
That will be me soon let’s goooo
You know now it runs!! Pretty cool man nice video
So wait in this video u put the completely stock k20 tune on the k24?
Yeah, so I’m running k24 engine on stock k20 ecu. Only temporary, not sure if it’s 100% safe or not, but it does run.
@@TheGerbsteve lol I ended up doing that for a lil while. Definitely scary, n not good for the car. Surprisingly ran pretty good tho

Were you able to fix it
@@infined304 Yes, I think it was caused by a vacuum leak. I had no issues to get it to pass after.
How many grand you got into the car in power mods and you can’t afford to get a new steering wheel? That thing looks like my dogs chew toy
Is it safe to run my jdm k24a on my stock ecu tsx 2004?
I wouldn't get on it a lot, but it'll run
Bro my headliner is coming down in the exact same spot...
Smash that like what up gerb!!!
What did you do to fix your steering I remember it didn’t have any eps at one point
Believe it or not, I still battle issue, but in summer months
You took the header off as well or you just put the stock intake back on? I’m in this same situation
Just the stock intake, still running header and 3” exhaust
After market ecu will sort everything out.
So you didn't up grade the oil pump?
No, it’s oem k24 oil pump. I do have a type s pump on the side for the future
Would upgraded oil pump throw CEL on stock tune?
Do you still have the Ktuned cmc? Has it given you any issues?
Still have it. 35k miles, Zero issues, I love it!
@@TheGerbsteve nice I just installed mine.
Honda k24 run stock ecu computer
