Fist person RPGs/adventures were the most immersive games you could play in the early 90's. The creators could really go crazy with the graphics and the size of the game world.
Never got past the bridge thing at 45:00 ... then I think we lost the book for the codes etc. For years we talked about what was after that beast, until youtube came along !!! Thanks :)
Excellent work. You have completed the harder RPG games on the Amiga. I had this series back in the day but never really got into it as i didnt like the diskswapping...
1:11:45 Somehow I never realized you could pick up this scroll. I feel so dumb now! The effect of some potions is pretty much impossible to figure out without it.
1992 MS-DOS limitations, mostly conventional memory, but also speed. Dungeon Master PC also had music only on the start screen. Ishtar was already pushing it with ambient sounds (birds, wind etc) + sound effects. OS, mouse driver, sound drivers, and the game executable + the entire memory used to store samples, images, and for calculations couldn't exceed 640kb. If you needed more memory, you had to swap it page by page, 16k at a time, with EMS, and this still couldn't be used for the game's executable. To run music loops and sound effects you had to have interrupts hooked, or run timers - in a single thread environment. Those marvels were running on 286/386 CPUs. Just a testament to the insane programming skills of the day.
Imagine playing it in the early 90's. It was mindblowing with immersive first person view, beautiful artworks and overall atmosphere. And it worked on a basic A500 with 1MB of RAM.
@@ace2585 Can't blame him, this game is absurdly unforgiving with the money and does the most scummy thing to do on a Rpg, you have to pay with that same scarce money to Save your current game.
@@Asterion608 This is good and I totally understand dev's decision to reduce save cheating. I see there are bugs in the game and strong monsters often don't attack for whatever reason, so there are ways around it if someone is in troubles.
Not strange play. It's a classic gameplay for 90's rpg games. Similar gameplay of Dungeon Master. 😊 Ishar 2 have a best gameplay. Actions (hand and weapon) are in the same screen of move.
More allies killed than enemies :-(

And why didi you kill Morgula???? She's got anti-Krogh spell
Yeah Morgula was kroogh mother isn't it? {if I remember correctly} and yes she was always in my party😊 plus my favourite unknown, xylaz, kirella
it must have been really difficult to draw the outdoor graphics for this game, keeping them consistent for a 3D environment
I love the nature graphics in this game

@@spearPYN I got 1 and 3 TV hehe :þ I love CRT
Why didn't you take Unknown from Elwingil to your team?
he was killed by the player along the way
My father once owned Ishar: Legend of the Fortress on Atari.
Amazing ending...
My best Game Ever
You killed morgula o_O! 2:09:18. Only her have the spell "Anti krogh"
2:46:00 The ultimate proof that Ishar is a DnD game 😂
WHy did PC not include the world music? It's pretty good!

I thought at one point you had to sacrifice all male members, but you kept Kyrian going all game?
Not exactly the final lineup I was expecting!

Why do you keep killing your party members??
To get their money. A lot of characters in the Ishar games are more or less useless, so I hire them, take their money and get rid of them.
@@nighttraplongplays9773 what's your go-to party for this game? great video btw
