If anything, I would say he is quite * unforgettable *

Cause every character are forgetable ? Spécialy engages one's so remember the names are hard

Man poor Zelkov. One thing is forgetting to move him in battle when he's deployed, and another is forgetting his name entirely.

When you said you related to Lapis I was expecting you to tell how you had to fight with bears when you were younger but I guess that's not a story for everyone
He didn't mention how he dilutes his milk and eats grass either. He's very tight-lipped on the issue. Probably some residual embarrassment.
As a Zelkov fan I'm not mad, just disappointed.
Zelkov is one of the more * interesting * characters in engage. I find it rather *. Intriguing. * as to how you forgot about him.
It really stinks when you can't recall the name of a character you like.

Gotta be real, Three Houses has still been the main FE game on Switch for me even after Engage came out
game play wise and even story wise three houses is mediocre

@@imtired927 it's not a lie tho, But I get it, you love it sooo much and love the characters, pretending the story is good. Remember, all the side characters like bernadetta felix etc are useless in the main story, they don't even exist other than having a random line to remember they exist. They can die and nobody cares (but i know you never let an unit die so you don't know the difference). Either way, the story has a good concept, but the execution of the story is atrocious, especially in the time skip. Look at rhea for example, rhea is pretty interesting in white clouds, but then she is wasted character wise. In crimson flower she is reduced to a crying karen screaming bring me back my mother! Her character is so painfully ruined and became an angry karen with no depth to her character. Then in azure moon she doesn't even exist lmao. In verdandt wind she is an exposition bot serving as giving exposition for the random final boss of the final chapter, nemesis, aka a character we saw nothing of after the first cutscene, so rhea has to give us an exposition for who he is literally on the last chapter, wow such good story writing. And in silver snow again, she is imprisoned the whole story, then she goes mad for some reason and we have to fight her in the final chapter, which has no effect on me because the motivation is just so weak, why did she go mad all of a sudden only on this path? Anyway.
Edelgard also has a good concept, but the execution is weak, the writing is her biggest enemy. Not to mention how she commits atrocities for a better future, since she can't change the system without removing the opposition. The problem is, her ending is barely any different from the other ones, all of them are happy endings. The only difference is that in azure moon the argathans (aka the worst written villains ever made) are still around without their leader, cuz their leader died randomly ina chapter disguised as the count lol. The fact that the story is split in 4 incomplete (and 80% similar) routes only to get like 1 different cutscene and story information is so badly made. But please if you think the story is amazing and one of the best written pieces in fiction and you think I am a liar, then enlighten me. Supports are also not important to the main story, just a bunch of extra info for your characters that again don't matter in the main story (except the main lords and the retainers) and some supports are really bland and repetitive, especially the c supports.
seeing the pan simblings so low really hurts i think they have some of the best supports in the games easy i was so invested in there backstory and there overall interactions are really fun
Ghast never used Panette or Pandreo so he's extra hard on them as a result. It's the only reason Jean is so high, unit-bias.

Its crazy how memorable the cast is based solely on design and names but also how much less memorable the overall game is idk. I wish theyd realized how good the integration of worldbuilding and character writing was in three houses and put it in engage but they didnt

*The characters also suffer alot from the lack of world building.* That's why they have so many bland supports. Just imagine what 3Houses characters would have been like if you removed all the lore and replaced the supports connected to it with filler. For example: remove the crest system alone and suddenly Sylvain loses alot of his charcterization, so does Lysithea, Edelgard, Hanneman, Marianne, Jeritza. Remove the nobility system and it's Lorenz, Ferdinand, Dorothea, and many others, etc.
Put the Engage characters into a more interesting world where they can also have events in the world and lore affect them and suddenly you can give them alot more interesting backstories and stuff to talk about in supports.
Just as far as personalities and how they interact with each other, this would have (mostly) been a pretty good, likable cast, imo. It's just that often there isn't much else to them because there's nothing going on in this world.
well it was a different team that worked on 3H in general. from my understanding it was KT headed and that's why it was pretty different. i think they really did an excellent job with 3H's tho. game felt leagues above any FE i've had before but the visuals and combat in engage seem more promising
Why would they do that? You do know Engage was made at the same time as Fodlan right?

Alear in my opinion is the definition of "missed potentiall" cause alear is praised as a god in engage and thats how everyone sees alear........and at points alear showed parts of themselves that were weirded out by that.........which I feel like COULD have been a good theme for alears character, on the conflicting of being treated as a god when there mostly normal person
I definitely see where you’re coming. But I’m not sure how well that could’ve worked since the “everyone treating Alear as a god” got annoying in the first few minutes that I’m not sure if people could last to the point Alear would tell people to treat them normally especially if Everyone is like that. They would have to tone it down for many characters, but best to have some that do and others don’t. Ivy was the only one that worked bc her was subtle at first and has an important reason for worshiping Alear
@@regulusking4299 u misunderstood cause what I mean is that could be a strong theme for alear as a char cause they could do ALOT WITH THAT in being expectations of what to live up to, how do u manage having that much authority over everyone else......and in what u said that "it got annoying first few minutes" is because everytime they tried exploring that theme THEY TREATED IT LIKE A JOKE and that's why it was annoying
@@Accountthatexists If they focus completely on Alear perspective I can definitely see it work as it would make the “God worshiping” less constant in your face and more on how Alear would deal with it. And I felt Alear kinda moves on too quickly. Like losing the Emblems & finding they’re a Fell Dragon gets pushed aside in the same chapter with no long term effect on Alear character

Bro I didn't even like engage and only did 1 playthrough and shelved it, the only character I can't remember is the old guy because he joins so late and I never used him.

Observation: People's opinions on characters both in fiction and who they get along with in reality is vastly different. I see this again in this tier list aswell. Around half the characters I would place similarly, but then the other half is in a vastly different spot.
Just reminded me of the time I let a friend borrow Radiant Dawn in high school and when I asked how far he got he told me "Not that far, I just got Volke back." When I told him you don't get Volke until the end he tried to convince me he did get Volke in Part 1. Just tell me you haven't even put the disc in yet, damn.

Not to sound negative, but it would probably be way easier to remember character's names if there was legitimately any design cohesion. It's a bit difficult for me to explain but maybe I could give an example:
Shanna in fe6 is an illian pegasus knight. Illian pegasus knights are all blue haired women. Because of these coherent similarities, my mind groups Shanna, Thea, Juno, Fiora, Farina, and Florina into one smaller group. Remembering one of them makes it easier for me to remember all of them because they all have things in common that separates them from the other characters in elibe games.
I would not have remembered Lapis' name. Because no character has any design commonalities with anyone else, I have no mental shorthand to use to try and recall. Brodia doesn't have any sense of commonality in its fashions, hair colors, personalities, or bloodlines. If I needed to remember which character Florina is I can search in my head for "illian pegasus knights" and figure it out. "Brodian retainer" doesn't mean anything, so I'm not trying to remember one out of a handful of characters, I'm trying to remember one character out of the whole cast.
Not sure if that makes sense to anyone else.
I think they could’ve had a coherent color scheme and armor designs. Like many siblings like Citrinne and her cousins don’t look anything alike, at least similar hair color or armor would help. But it also doesn’t help they don’t get much of any screen time in the main story
@@regulusking4299 In Three Houses, I was speculating so hard that I guessed Lysithea and Edelgard were siblings because they had the same hair color. That's how engaging the world was. In contrast, Engage made me so disinterested in the world at large and the character's relations that I didn't realize Panette and Pandreo were related, because I never bothered to ask.
Yeeeeeeeah... even my favorite characters in this game aren't exactly all that well written. Engage definitely focused more on the gameplay than the characterization, which really hurts the memorability of its side characters. I still enjoyed the game overall, but It's a shame that only a handful of them had decent writing.
This is * truly * unforgettable.

I can *understand* why Zelkov slipped your mind amongst Engage's particularly *unique* cast of characters. This is *especially* the case when one considers Yunaka, a character who leaves an *unforgettable* first impression, thus causing one to *overlook* the game's second thief. I am nonetheless *disappointed* , for Zelkov is one of, if not my *absolute* favorite out of this roster, and the disrespect he has *recieved* from your actions has wounded me greatly.
What was the point in making a character talk like this, besides giving an otherwise good voice actor(David Matranga) a disappointing performance that gives sub elitists more ammo to use against English dubs?
It's a miracle that some people like Justin Briner and Ian Sinclair made it out okay.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 I get that some people found this aspect annoying, but I personally never minded it. Frankly I never found any of the English voices to be annoying, even notoriously disliked ones like Amber and Hortensia.
Its crazy how much I disagree with the list, but I know why you like those characters. Pretty good tier, the only one I agree I think it was Hortensia and Veyle. Amber is pretty underrated 😭

With Zelkov’s whole character design being black and very dark shades of brown, it’s like his spot just a void in the tier list. Like even the other black characters’ outfits are more colorful than his.

Tbf, I forgot everyone’s name… i wasn’t the biggest fan of the game.
For me Celine needs to be split into 2 characters: Tealine and Celine with Tealine being F tier because of all her filler tea supports and then Celine A tier for her few supports about Alfred or politics. Her supports are either among the worst or the best. Kinda emblematic for Engage writing, to have to dig through trash but also be able to find good stuff right next to it.
Thing is the tea thing could’ve worked bc it’s a way she copes. But it’s so overdone it completely underplays it. It should’ve been few and far between to feel it’s right she does it. It would make you feel “Celine deserves a break and some tea”

I chose Panette as bond ring material because she's a fiery redhead who's trying her best to become a proper retainer for Timerra, has parent issues which I want to help out with, and her brother is fun. Plus her Isle Del Muertos design is something I really love.
Yunaka being a close 2nd and Nel being 3rd.
For me, Alear is B, but Emblem Alear is S. He's da boi.

Honestly this just goes to show how lame these characters were. They’re very forgettable
if you dont like the game, you're gonna forget about it. get someone who is an actual fan of the game and they'll be able to name and rank every character very easily.
I think alot of why there forgettable is cause u get SO MANY UNITS SO QUICKLY that u don't even get to touch half of them

Sure there’s supports, but you should be given a strong first impression first to actually make you want to see them for that character. Yunaka was a good example bc she gave a strong first impression with hints that make you want to see more, and what do you know she’s the most popular Engage character

@@nuibaba280 That speaks more to his own memory than anything. The excuse of "the characters are lame" is a very unfair one too, because if he liked the characters then clearly he doesn't think they're lame. So even if my point fails, so does the point of the person I was replying to.

You know that's a pretty good tier list and pretty balanced. A good amount are in the S and A while B is still a decent standing for some characters. The engage cast did better than I thought as I was expecting more C's and D from fe tubers
