FEH OC's tend to fall pretty hard in popularity a while after they are put into the game so I voted for Eitri. Out of the Book V characters, I quite liked her the most and thought that the ending for the book was more bitter than sweet with how callously the "heroes" hunted down and slaughtered her after she showed no desire to fight her own queen. Then they spit on her grave by Reginn subjugating her own nation to the giants who her people fought against for independence long ago with their first king. That aside, I also voted for Severa, Adult Tiki, and Bernie. All are characters that I appreciate in their own ways.
I think Bartre is last because is last because he's been in FEH so long and never been good so having him pop up AGAIN when your sniping for some green unit probably soured everyone's impression of him.
He's been good for a very short time before skill inheritance, when Fury 3 was stuck on him, Eldigan and Hinata, and he had a hammer to counter Hector and Effie in high BST arena. But you had to 5* him and nobody did, obviously.
This is exactly why CYL is not a pure popularity contest. The constraints in place and the state of the game influence it too much to be used for anything other than looking at who the playerbase wants added to FEH and nothing else.
I feel like Gilbert would be more well liked if there was some kind of reconciliation between him and Annette, but even in their A support he acts exactly the same as he does in the rest of the game. It doesn't even show him working towards it. He's just a static character with no arc. It feels like the devs just kind of forgot about him.
As someone who watch all this man supports with no new game plus to help I like how he went from man who filled with regrets to someone who in the path of moving on from the past and I can say that he dose have a character arc if you put time and investment in to him as a unit and as character. But yes I do have to agree to see Gilbert and Annette had a proper reconciliation with each other would have been great to see and not been done off screen with their paired ending. Also in my opinion he's a better character arc then some of blue lions and Jeriza.
Yep! As someone who really likes Three Hopes, too, I will say he makes a significantly better impression in the Blue Lions route there. He's not any better of a father when he appears, but that's no longer your introduction. Instead he's a seasoned, competent military man who offers useful counsel to Dimitri and Shez. I found myself liking him a lot more there, so it just goes to show how far that first impression can take a character!
People be crazy about Bartre. Dude goes from being a complete imbecile that knows nothing but fighting, to getting a hot wife(through gameplay! We are all canonically his successful wingman!) and becoming a legit good and caring widowed dad that fights to free slaves. And he's hilarious. He's the whole package! Also he's got a huge nose, I mean look at that thing. Best noses in Fire Emblem, make it happen!
Honestly, Gilbert's (as utterly unremarkable a unit and a character as I personally find him) biggest problem I think is a case of "Value Dissonance" between East and West. From what I have heard, (and if I am wrong anyone is welcome to correct me!) in Japan, a father running away in shame is relatively normal and somewhat common, or at least was more common in the past. If the father failed in something great such as a job, he was seen as having shamed his family, and therefore did not deserve to have the comfort of loved ones as a failure. Thus, they would leave to ease the pain they caused (that said, Annette insists that she and her mother would have stood by him even if no one else did, and ultimately persuades Gilbert to return home). As a result, Gilbert is sympathetic from a Japanese perspective because his situation can hit home for many who suffered such a thing. In western society, however, this line of thinking and logic makes no sense and is frowned upon, with it being seen as immature, selfish, and socially wrong to abandon your family because of something like that. The result is that Gilbert is seen negatively for abandoning his daughter, a stone cold deadbeat dad and not very popular among Western players.
I swear I must be the only person that genuinely likes Gilbert. Yes it was messed up that he left poor Annette and her Mother behind but I always felt him being in Dimitri's story really helped in driving the narrative. Plus, in my opinion, his A Support with Dimitri is 1 of the best in the game.
I also liked him, at least relative to seemingly everyone else. He did choose personal duty over family, but Annette never really holds him responsible for that beyond the initial confrontation, more so just being happy that he's around, and i think that was enough for me.
I wonder how much of this stems from bad unit feel, as well as the “you’re in FEH already” factor you discussed. Natasha in particular is a case of bad unit feel, because you already have Moulder “The Boulder” as your healer, and Gilbert feels bad compared to Dedue.
While I agree with the Gilbert and Dedue comparison, I’ve always personally ended up using Natasha more then Moulder. Though to be fair, most of my Sacred Stones playthoughs are simply Seth carrying the army on his back with Franz helping out when he can.
I think that Alois is another good comparison with Gilbert. He's also an old man, and serves a similar role in game, but he's more immediately lovable personality wise.
Even though she is the objectively worse unit I have a soft spot for natasha. Her interaction recruiting Joshua is the main catalyst since that scene is so amusing. I always ship them so I rarely use moulder unless I want another bishop. I almost always use Joshua and since I have natasha joined at the hip with him I tend to use her more than moulder. Moulder might have good unit feel, but to me he has bad character feel.
@@reaperofthings I can't believe I am saying this, but honestly Gilbert is actually a much better dad then mine so I actually don't mind the old knight.
I'm actually surprised with Rafiel cause I thought people love him more. But I guess most of this results are because a lot of people let the intermediate results determine their votes, plus the fact that you'll always go for more popular characters
It could also be that, of the three herons, Rafiel is the only one that wasn’t in Path of Radiance, so people are more fond of the herons they already met and knew of
+ plus Gilbert was forced on the player as a remplacement to Dedue, which is a character that most azure moon fans relied on all the time and liked at least decently. while it's more the writing's fault than Gilbert's, (because it was just poorly handled), ppl will grow to resent him for that, like "who let this crusty old man in and why is he taking screen time and development away from dedue"
@@onlookerofthings6029 Tbh even if you beat the paralogue you still spend a good amount of time without him, and it ends up making his character seem less relevant/ complete
10:25 *Hypothesis:* The reason Gilbert is so hated in especially the USA is because of the high rate of single parenthood in that country. Hits a nerve for people and offers the opportunity to lash out. Those who had a dad probably won't like him alot either but they won't have that visceral hatred.
Meh, it's less that and more a cultural difference between Japan and US. In the US there isn't much of a focus on "shame upon your family", which makes Gilbert seem not only negligent, but also unreasonable to Americans. That, or Gilbert actively refusing to make amends and then saying that refusal proves why he doesn't deserve to see his family hits close to people who have to deal with self-pity like that.
@@Videokirby Yeah, in the U.S. most of the time people make their own decisions when they get older, especially if their parents are helicopter or abusive
If Gilbert was my own dad, I'd probably like him better than my actual dad because he at least left and for the time he was around it is implied he was a good father
@@AkameGaKillfan777 Helicopter parents are called that for a reason, even if you leave the house they will always interfere in your life so that you either become dependent on them and/or brag to their friends.
@@alejandro_rodriguez_99 likely for the same reason quite a few well received characters are here: natasha is already in the game, and syrene has yet to make an appearance. thus, syrene fans are more inclined to vote for syrene, while the natasha fans have moved on to the next character on their wish list
I remember going down into the pits of the last CYL event and almost falling out of my chair when Catherine somehow got less votes than Worst Brother Ever Miklan. Anyhow sad Dorothea noises.
People think of the poll as something to just get their favorite characters to get an alt is all. I'm just a tiny bit skeptical of how it shows in terms of popularity.
Yea maybe nowadays now that many more units are in FEH already, but between CYL 1-3 (maybe 4ish) it was definitely more "let my favorite character in the game IS!" You can see that with all the vote drop offs in later CYLs
Yeah, people have been saying this was one of the funnest cyl ever but all I've seen is people harassing others because they voted for a character they liked instead of the ones who "should" win
@@Flamelance_Accendo To be fair, i voted for Chrom every time because i like Chrom and i want all of the Chroms i can get. :D But i wouldn't be miffed if somebody else gets the spots. Although, i can say i was feeling a mix of bemusement and exasperation when Gatekeeper overtook him in CYL 5. x) I can see if people think he's got too many alts.. but on the other hand, i'd liek to point at the milk cow herself, Camilla and the two sheets of paper called Corring whenever that arguments pop up.
@@Aurirang The reason why Camilla even has a Brave version was because of the meme of her gaining alot of alts. So people were like: "Let's get her another one just because it's funny". They did the same to Gatekeeper. Cuz meme. lol (although, I guess its not only just that when it comes to Gatekeeper, because people started to grow more interested in him).
I actually think the biggest problem for Bartre is is the people are just tired of summoning him when they're trying to pull for green orbs and they're already so sparse
NOOOOOOOO My son Brady is so low ;(, i voted for him this CYL and i hope more people voted for him, hes duch a likeable character and i want to see him in a ballroom banner using a violin.
I knew Gilbert had to be the Three Houses pick, but I was still sad to see it. Azure Moon was the first route I did, and I really enjoyed him (and Cyril!). I made sure that he and Annette had their happy ending together.
It's pretty funny the power gap between Fates captureable bosses. On the one hand you've got units like Funke and Candice (Candice can't reclass at all. Even the amiibos can use DLC classes.) who are terrible and then there's Gazak who just gets everything, good bases, good skills (Good Fortune, Certain Blow and Pavise), and ridiculous growths (60% strength and 70% defence).
I'll be honest im kinda shocked Brady was the lowest of Awakening... I honestly love his character in FEH and in game (Somehow I also have accidently maxed his Hero Merit in FEH so I kinda have a soft spot for him)
I think a big reason why votes dropped from cyl4 -5 is the introduction of having to have a Nintendo account to vote! Votes reduced drastically across the board because people couldn’t just bot votes or throw them about randomly anymore!
When I played Sacred Stones, I used Natasha because she's sweet and pretty while Moulder is just a guy with a moustache. I also had the misconception that units who join partway through the game should be better than the first ones you get.
Some of these characters were a bit surprising to see. I always voted on characters I like that are not very popular through different CYLs, like Elen, Niime, Isadora, Levail, Laurent, Cyril, and so on. I am waiting to see their placements this year.
I think the main reason why most of the units on this list had a decrease was because of the introduction of no bots in CYL 5. I might be wrong ofc, but it’s also a possibility as well
My boy Shura was exactly 200th place - I never have hope for him getting CYL, but maybe, juuuust maybe my boy can somehow get into Heroes one day 🥺 he needs way more official and fan art!
Nice video Ghast. I agree, I think a lot the decline in votes is the "you're already in FEH" factor, as I used all my votes this year to try to get Perne into FEH, and I imagine many would do the same for a character they liked, and I probably wouldn't vote for him if he does ever get in.
Gilbert is obviously last among the 3H characters but I have to admit: He is growing a little on me after replaying Azure Moon, seeing how important he is there and how he handles so many things. I wonder how he would have turned out as a character if it werent for the tragedy of duscur.
Speaking of “old man” characters, I don’t really count him as one (some ppl do) but I love Gregor. I tried to throw a vote his way every CYL. Just curious what your thoughts are on him? Also, I’m genuinely surprised Raphiel had less votes than Fiona. & I 2nd the “why Americans hate Gilbert & love Ignatz compared to Japan” comment
I know you are asking Ghast here, but as for me Gregor is my favorite Awakening character simply because he has one of best crit phrases in the game and he is a very unique character amongst the younger cast members.
I wonder how popularity for Gilbert Turns out when most players are around 40-50 years old maybe with a couple relationships behind them or maybe a broken marriage or some of the sort, pretty sure alot more would sympathize with him then :D
As someone who forgot to vote for the final day I was extremely worried over the thought that the character I wanted to vote for might be in this video .... 😭 Thank God he didn't!! I'm very surprised to see Bartre to show up, as he's a big meme. I'm definitely going to assume that it is because FE7+6 versions of him are considered separate. While I definitely understand why Gilbert is disliked and in last place, I still can't help but be annoyed at how plenty of sexy characters seem to get free passes despite the fact that they're awful too. Like damn, I know humans are horny, but we are REALLY horny.
Gilbert and Bartre are two of my favorite characters in the series, but if I were to vote for Bartre, I would never choose his FE7 version over his FE6 one. Gilbert I just fully do not understand. He’s by far my favorite Three Houses character in terms of story, and he’s super unique and fun in gameplay.
In regards to Gilbert in my eyes at first he is the real irredemable being in Three Houses. Screw Edelgard/Flame Emperor, Jeritza/Death Knight Duke Aegir and Agarthans/Those Who Slither in the Dark. That is until I viewed and paid attention to his supports with Dimitri and Annette. But seriously he is a great character with flaws both in story and gameplay wise with the latter outweighing his potential especially in Maddening of Three Houses and the former being how he is portrayed as worst parent heck even Jeralt and Seteth are better as parents than Gilbert even if seeing a red flag in Rhea's questionable methods when Byleth is born for Jeralt's part and Seteth & Flayn being known as brother and sister rather than father and daughter in public for their safety
Damn, poor Gilbert. I really enjoyed his character and thought his supports with the Blue Lions cast were really interesting, so I'm disappointed he placed so low. Although I do have very little attachment to Annette so maybe that helped soften the blow a little.
You're actually wrong with Brady. Kjelle is actually much farther down at 465th place compared to Brady's 436th place which by the way is tied to Sully.
I don't like Gilbert but he is a great character and his inclusion is great for the game, I really like his role. And I think is pretty hypocrite for fans to say they only hate him due to being a bad dad when they like Fates cast or a few other characters and is an excuse for people just not liking him because he is old.
It sounds weird to hear Funke's name pronounced as 'Funk'. In my mind it always sounded like 'Fyuun-kay', as in Tobias 'I just blue myself' Fünke from _Arrested Development._
I'm immediately surprised by Natasha, I always enjoyed her. I imagine that predominantly staff users are generally not popular for FEH picks because they don't have many skill options. Unless you're OP like B!Veronica, you're out of luck elsewhere.
If Ladislava/Randolph/Fleche were playable, i feel like they would have gotten the least votes. They are pure annoyance on any route, and while i understand wanting a "knights of Seiros" counter for Edelgard... It didn't really succeed much. I voted just for Tiki. It isn't often when your favourite female character is winning CYL after all.
i think popular votes aren´t really an indicator to see which character is popular, I really like gustav as a character for example, but I would never vote for him because there are better characters, but he isn´t hated by me
This is why I don't participate in popularity contest events anymore; most of my favorites end up ranking very low, so I'd rather just find something else to do that week.
Man, Batre isn't loved? FE6 Bartre is a god among men, while FE7 Batre is pretty decent as well. Man... poor axe boi. I'd have thought that Karla, whom cannot even be recruited without Bartre, would easily be least popular.
I know for me too, any unit that appears a lot as a three or four star while I'm summoning gets me sour real fast, regardless how i felt about them before
Not surprising, I was looking at his Heroes art just a couple days ago and the artist nailed the 'sweet but actually creepy and obsessive guy you wanna stay away from' vibes. Blehhh, gives me the chills.
As a huge fan of FE8, I’m honestly surprised Natasha is bottom tier queen. People really be voting for Riev over Natasha? Everyone in Sacred stones has their merit of course but wow. I really love Natasha’s character though and would love to see more of her in Heroes. She’s one of my favorite healers.
I totally understand people voting for a favorite character who isn't in the game, and then changing their vote after their character is added. If they did something like this for Pokemon Master, despite Lillie being my favorite character, I wouldn't vote for her because she has so many alts already.
Honestly Funke was probably my third favorite capture boss in Fates beside Haitaka and Gazak. And seeing him being the least voted in Fates kindly annoyed me. And to be quite honest i much rather see those three get in then literally any other characters from Fates that isn’t in FEH yet beside Fuga and Scarlet. Heck i rather see Hans get in FEH before characters like Hisame even though it very unlikely going to happen. As for characters i voted for CYl this year it Hellene Brigand Boss (twice) L’Arachel Hans Gazak and Nifi.
I'm honestly surprised (and pleasantly so!) that Harken or Geitz aren't Blazing Blade's biggest losers. Considering how both of them are potentially missable in a single playthrough of the game, and how Geitz in particular has a pretty steep cost to recruiting him. Both units also aren't featured on a single Cipher Card, so they don't have any alternate official artwork associated with them. Personally, I have a deep attachment to them as Geitz was clutch in my very first playthrough of the game, and Harken has been my savior in every future playthrough. I hope that one or both of them get featured in Heroes one day, just so more attention is given to my boys.
might be popular enough to make people want them in the game. both of them got interesting characterization and strong gameplay value (especially harken, who is one of the easiest enemies to recruit and joins with endgame stats)
I'm surprised about Brady, I always liked him since I played Awakening, specially since in that run Chrom married Maribelle and if you recruit him using Chrom they have a really nice conversation where Brady is surprised of seeing his dad but also ashamed since Chrom is such a legendary swordsman while he's a healer Chrom replies that he walked the path of the sword out of necessity but Brady chose to be a healer mentioning that he couldn't be prouder of him. Which I thought was awesome Regarding Gilbert yeah people kinda missed the point that he's supposed to be a mess but in fairness unless you go out of your way to check his supports with Byleth and Annette he never, like, solves that family situation and he can end up just being Dimitri's retainer
I love the Tellius birds and have a +10 Rafiel by my own. But his groom variants kinda looks and feels like a normal version of him. (just remove the flowers lol) For me there is no need for an OG Rafiel, at least not now. They are just so many other great Tellius characters I want to see an OG version (Zihark, Sephiran, Rhys, Vika and more) for or that even have to be included at all (Lucia, Geoffrey, Renning and more).
I think the big reason why Bartre is last place for FE7 is just that everyone keeps voting for his FE6 form, or at least those who would vote for Bartre. Remember that his votes are still split between his apperances, so its most likely that hes not so much last place and more so that everyone just dogpiled onto his FE6 version instead since its obviouslu his more iconic form.
Gilbert I made good as a unit, but his treatment of Annette, the first character I S-supported in 3H, is just unforgiveable in my eyes. Sure, in their paired ending they reconcile and Gilbert returns to being Gustave and goes back to his family, but since I married Annette, I didn't see that, and it doesn't feel like a natural progression from their supports.
I honestly would have done just the least voted character from each game that isnt in feh, plus just a non boss fates character cause capturable bosses are pretty obvious to be dead last. Other than that, people will vote for their favourites that arent yet in, knowing whoever you wanted managed to get into the game will def make you less likely to vote them again especially knowing theres barely gonna be any backing and youd be pretty much just tossing your votes. Id argue almost all voters will back the unit that they like that is more likely to win compared to their actual favourite.
Not really surprised overall. Not gonna lie, though, I kinda feel bad for both Bartre and Gilbert; while I get it, I think that they don't deserve their placements.
I despised Barte since I recruited him in FE6, didn’t like his character support and design or stats. Worst when I constantly summon him in FEH as a 3 star character
Different folks, different strokes I guess. I love Bartre in FE6. He's got a case for being the best bow user in that game. And his overprotective dad/mentor vibes in most of his supports is great imo
Bartre got fuckin ROBBED. dude's fantastic. not just as a character and a meme but like even in gameplay. of course he's straight awful by default at this incredible 3 base speed, so i used him as part of my 'terrible units only' and using this guy was legit *so much fuckin fun* ya'll. this dude turns into such a complete beast over the course of the game as his stats just balloon into insane categories to where he's soloing entire ass armies on his own. so fuckin cool. ya'll gotta use Bartre proper in your next runs of FE7, deserves way more love.
this CYL I wasn't very invested in any of the top contenders so I just put 3 votes on both felicia and lissa and the remaining vote on candace because I really want her in heroes even if she's a bad prfless ghb unit I'll make her work
I feel Barte and Brady may get recoil for being common spookers in FEH. and I don't think their following would be strong enough to cause something like the A!Tiki push. My guess with Natasha is rather vanilla, and lacking the sparks of personality that other clerics have (Hi Serra!) Might be the whole getting into the game effect. Same could be said of Gatrie. Rafiel I'd sort of argue being the "least" of the siblings (His sister's cute, and his brother has some nice moments) People remember Fates bosses? On the boss note, a number of other bosses were removed (I think Batta the Beast and Gheb, whom if FEH came in an earlier era would have been meme voted) Gilbert's base package at start isn't impressive and toss in "bad dad"... yeah. He isn't a cool character brought down by such (Leo might count as such consiering a certain Dev remark)
Man, unless we need to stop 3H again next year All my votes will go for Eyvel, you deserve it Also funny thing, your Gilbert video, although made me understand him better, also made me hate him more
One reason that I don't like Gilbert is the map that you get him as a green unit (Tower of Black Winds). On any difficulty, Gilbert seems to have a death wish and will post himself in range to get shot by the archers on the higher levels (Maddening mode accelerates his death because the archers have poison strike). This activates these archers who go on to activate the other units. If you aren't careful, you can have a large wave of enemies bearing down on you before you are ready. I had to play this map several times when I first started playing on maddening, and the best case scenario is typically when he dies to the first group of reinforcements that come from behind you.
Ha, Gilbert. His characterization is just that of a knight who only knows about and values honour so he fell into a downward spiral of self-pity the moment he lost it. Leaving Annette and his wife out to dry while he drowns his sorrow with blind servitude to the Knights of Seiros and Dimitri in the vain hope that it will fix anything. Even as his own home city was burning by the help of his own hands in Crimson Flower, he was putting work over the ones he loved. He's just... not a very likeable person. Meanwhile, Hanneman would be an older character that I very much did enjoy. The reveal that his crest research was more than a hobby, but that to honour his sister and prevent what happened to her from occurring again, was an incredibly touching scene. He has his own flaws, but it's not nearly as bad as Gilbert. He's a really endearing character and mentor figure. Even Manuela has her own touching scenes despite being a drunken and hopeless romantic.
I tend to compare Gilbert more to Alois actually. Maybe because Alois has really strong Dad energy. Manuela is good because she's a drunken and hopeless romantic though. She's such a total mess and that makes her surprisingly relatable.
Dedue, nothing more to say to kick Gilbert to the Supporters after der Duscur Warrior returns. There is no reason to take the replacement of Gilbert and Dedue`s dead. Save Dimitri and all is ok. Old, but no gold. Seteth is very better, when he can fit out before the time jump. And fly + cichol.
My first thought when I saw Natasha as the female SS character with the least votes: "Who are they gonna pair Joshua with?" Hayden is still one of FE's most underrated monarch. At least she isn't one of them 2nd Gen substitute FE4 characters. I feel sorry for those forgetten souls.

Bartre has whatever disease Goku and Rocky Balboa had, where unlike most dads they were so stupid that becoming a dad made them smarter.
From my limited understand the knights in 3H feel more like stereotypical samurai

I also like him but the issue is his character arc kinda gets unfinished even if you A support with with Annette
I also liked him, at least relative to seemingly everyone else. He did choose personal duty over family, but Annette never really holds him responsible for that beyond the initial confrontation, more so just being happy that he's around, and i think that was enough for me.
Thank God I’m not the only one
I always use Natasha, dont like Moulder. Love her pairing with Joshua.

3H fans: "That's you Gilbert!"
Gilbert: _sad armored suit noises_
Good, be sad Gilbert!
It could also be that, of the three herons, Rafiel is the only one that wasn’t in Path of Radiance, so people are more fond of the herons they already met and knew of
It's because people simp for the wolf queen
+ plus Gilbert was forced on the player as a remplacement to Dedue, which is a character that most azure moon fans relied on all the time and liked at least decently. while it's more the writing's fault than Gilbert's, (because it was just poorly handled), ppl will grow to resent him for that, like "who let this crusty old man in and why is he taking screen time and development away from dedue"
Unless you beat Dedue's paralogue then you get him back pretty soon lol
@@onlookerofthings6029 Tbh even if you beat the paralogue you still spend a good amount of time without him, and it ends up making his character seem less relevant/ complete
@@cosmically4286 He comes back about midway through chapter 16 if you completed the Duscur paralogue. So that would be about 3 full chapters.
Basically: fatherless behavior
If Gilbert was my own dad, I'd probably like him better than my actual dad because he at least left and for the time he was around it is implied he was a good father

Also, poor Natasha. Moulder is that big of an icon in SS - my stache idol.
I wll not understad how Natasha can lose when Syrene exists in the same game.
@@abelleo1557 Yeah, and awhile ago, a guy was saying "Because Chrom needs a new alt". I think he deleted his comment lol

@@Flamelance_Accendo To be fair, i voted for Chrom every time because i like Chrom and i want all of the Chroms i can get. :D
But i wouldn't be miffed if somebody else gets the spots. Although, i can say i was feeling a mix of bemusement and exasperation when Gatekeeper overtook him in CYL 5. x)
I can see if people think he's got too many alts.. but on the other hand, i'd liek to point at the milk cow herself, Camilla and the two sheets of paper called Corring whenever that arguments pop up.
@@Aurirang The reason why Camilla even has a Brave version was because of the meme of her gaining alot of alts. So people were like: "Let's get her another one just because it's funny". They did the same to Gatekeeper. Cuz meme. lol

Brady is so good as character, hopefully he gets more love ):
On every CYL I give him all my votes😭✋ Let's hope he got more votes this year,,
So when you say "son", do you mean that literally? It is awakening, after all
Brady deserves love too, i love his weepy face
You are a 1/7 part of Brady fans
Wow I was not expecting Natasha to be the least popular character from Sacred Stones. I actually liked her back when I first played that game.
The surprise for me it that Syrene or Knoll aren't the least voted.
I honestly love his character in FEH and in game
(Somehow I also have accidently maxed his Hero Merit in FEH so I kinda have a soft spot for him)
I think a big reason why votes dropped from cyl4 -5 is the introduction of having to have a Nintendo account to vote!
I might be wrong ofc, but it’s also a possibility as well
The removal of bots has been present since CYL4 IIRC bc of the George scandal
@@5h3nn0ng it was after cyl4
2:56 Wait…WHAT?! I am speechless.
Same
My boy Shura was exactly 200th place - I never have hope for him getting CYL, but maybe, juuuust maybe my boy can somehow get into Heroes one day 🥺 he needs way more official and fan art!
I wonder how popularity for Gilbert Turns out when most players are around 40-50 years old maybe with a couple relationships behind them or maybe a broken marriage or some of the sort, pretty sure alot more would sympathize with him then :D
the oldest FE fans are about to fit in that range, as a teenage Japanese kid in 1990, would now be around 35-40 Years old in 2022.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this, as well, but cyl5 was the first year you needed to use a mynintendo account to vote iirc [looking a Natasha's drop]
This is a mobile game we're talking about...
the biggerst losers in cyl 6 is FE WARRIORS that didnt even made an appareance
Gilbert and Bartre are two of my favorite characters in the series, but if I were to vote for Bartre, I would never choose his FE7 version over his FE6 one. Gilbert I just fully do not understand. He’s by far my favorite Three Houses character in terms of story, and he’s super unique and fun in gameplay.
I can imagine why FE7 Bartre is overlook, FE6 Bartre is frankly a cooler and more wholesome character, and the moustache really improves his look IMO.
I knew we'd get the Part 2!! I had to keep my faith \o/
Nobody can hold the love and development of gatekeeper. It was only logical
Kjelle is actually much farther down at 465th place compared to Brady's 436th place which by the way is tied to Sully.
well, kjelle is basically sully but worse, so it makes sense
Um, hey Ghast, Brady isn't the lowest playable awakening character, it's actually Kjelle with 40 votes at 465th place.
Oh my... well that's an oopsie 😅
She's more boring and forgettable than Kellam and that's his entire character.
I don't like Gilbert but he is a great character and his inclusion is great for the game, I really like his role.
And I think is pretty hypocrite for fans to say they only hate him due to being a bad dad when they like Fates cast or a few other characters and is an excuse for people just not liking him because he is old.
I think it’s a shame Gilbert is so hated; personally he’s one of my favorite characters in 3H.
This didn’t pop up in my sub box. But I love your work, Ghast. Keep it up and I hope you’re well
Yo, Where's my bro Kellam from Awakening! Did they forgot about him? :(
It sounds weird to hear Funke's name pronounced as 'Funk'.
I'm kinda surprised how much people "despise" Gilbert. I think he's a pretty solid character.
Even in his A Support with Annette he's still a garbage dad. The only supports where he's not a total piece of crap are NOT with Annette.
@@sophitiaofhyrule its not like he despises nor abuses her. Dude's going through a lot.
They were barely characters.
They were so botched.

The hell is going on. Cyl6 is already over? Why wasn't it in my feh notifications.
I used to use Bartre in FE7 a lot, mostly because I always used Canas and there aren't many supports for Canas
This is why I don't participate in popularity contest events anymore; most of my favorites end up ranking very low, so I'd rather just find something else to do that week.
Oh, poor Natasha. I love her, but I do admit I'd throw a vote in for Seth over her.
Man, Batre isn't loved? FE6 Bartre is a god among men, while FE7 Batre is pretty decent as well. Man... poor axe boi. I'd have thought that Karla, whom cannot even be recruited without Bartre, would easily be least popular.
My CYL6 votes went to Athos, honestly its a travesty he isn't in the game yet.
These buff axe wielding hunks is basically eye candy to me.
Also I think Flayn is insufferable. I got rid of her as soon as I could.
Pretty sure Serra broke the cleric mold waaay before Brady
I know for me too, any unit that appears a lot as a three or four star while I'm summoning gets me sour real fast, regardless how i felt about them before
technically Gilbert wasn't the lowest rated playable 3H character, it is Aelfric, who is playable for one chapter in CS.
U should also cover TMS units too. If they don't get more exposure they will fade to even more obscurity.
Ngl, Im surprised it was Brady. Given past votings, I wouldve assumed Yarne or Laurent (FEH when?) would the least popular.
Sad Natasha is disliked she's one of my favorite fe8 characters
I'm surprised about Brady, I always liked him since I played Awakening, specially since in that run Chrom married Maribelle and if you recruit him using Chrom they have a really nice conversation where Brady is surprised of seeing his dad but also ashamed since Chrom is such a legendary swordsman while he's a healer
Chrom replies that he walked the path of the sword out of necessity but Brady chose to be a healer mentioning that he couldn't be prouder of him. Which I thought was awesome
Regarding Gilbert yeah people kinda missed the point that he's supposed to be a mess but in fairness unless you go out of your way to check his supports with Byleth and Annette he never, like, solves that family situation and he can end up just being Dimitri's retainer
I just want to roll a Meg from Radiant Dawn. She's my favorite
I swear if Waluigi is in this video....
Ah, yes, Waluigi, my favorite fe character.
Subscribed so I’m curious Faerghast who is your favorite character from each entry in the series or at least the games you’ve played sir??
Had to vote for my man Ferdinand Von Aegir😎
Super underrated character
I was totally expecting the Fates character to be Peri
Nah she still has a following
Whether you like Peri or not, at least she's not boring. Which could be why she wasn't last
This year, I voted for Ursula, Cornelia (twice), Cynthia, Marla, Aida, and finally, Massena.
Damn, was hoping Bernadetta would have a chance, and it was so close. Maybe next time.
I love Cyril and some of those votes were mine. I'm saving skill fodder for him hoping to someday be able to build my boy.
Honestly shocked Natasha was ranked lower than FE8's trio of Trainee units (Ross, Amelia, & Ewan)
I personally dislike Bartre because of how many times I've summoned him. It just left a bad taste in my mouth, I guess.
I just started playing Heroes, its too easy. They gave me a bunch of op fighters right at the start and now i just one shot everything.
It wont stay that way, i had the same experience in the beginning
It gets harder later, trust me :')
Bartre got fuckin ROBBED. dude's fantastic. not just as a character and a meme but like even in gameplay.
of course he's straight awful by default at this incredible 3 base speed, so i used him as part of my 'terrible units only' and using this guy was legit *so much fuckin fun* ya'll. this dude turns into such a complete beast over the course of the game as his stats just balloon into insane categories to where he's soloing entire ass armies on his own. so fuckin cool. ya'll gotta use Bartre proper in your next runs of FE7, deserves way more love.
this CYL I wasn't very invested in any of the top contenders so I just put 3 votes on both felicia and lissa and the remaining vote on candace because I really want her in heroes even if she's a bad prfless ghb unit I'll make her work
Poor Gilbert
I feel Barte and Brady may get recoil for being common spookers in FEH. and I don't think their following would be strong enough to cause something like the A!Tiki push.
My guess with Natasha is rather vanilla, and lacking the sparks of personality that other clerics have (Hi Serra!) Might be the whole getting into the game effect.
Same could be said of Gatrie.
Rafiel I'd sort of argue being the "least" of the siblings (His sister's cute, and his brother has some nice moments)
People remember Fates bosses? On the boss note, a number of other bosses were removed (I think Batta the Beast and Gheb, whom if FEH came in an earlier era would have been meme voted)
Gilbert's base package at start isn't impressive and toss in "bad dad"... yeah. He isn't a cool character brought down by such (Leo might count as such consiering a certain Dev remark)
I dont mind getting Brady's tbh in FEH, he has deceptively good fodder in Atk/Res Push 3 and Infantry Pulse
Me over here who voted for Reina, Kronya and Ranulf. Yeah, I knew I was betting on the horse with the bum leg.
Glad somebody understands Gilbert.
Man, unless we need to stop 3H again next year
All my votes will go for Eyvel, you deserve it
Also funny thing, your Gilbert video, although made me understand him better, also made me hate him more
One reason that I don't like Gilbert is the map that you get him as a green unit (Tower of Black Winds).
@@shytendeakatamanoir9740 "Maybe because Alois has really strong Dad energy."
might be because of his sense of humor
Dunno if I'm like anyone else, I only vote for characters not yet in FEH.
My first thought when I saw Natasha as the female SS character with the least votes: "Who are they gonna pair Joshua with?"
Hayden is still one of FE's most underrated monarch.
At least she isn't one of them 2nd Gen substitute FE4 characters. I feel sorry for those forgetten souls.
