Respect to the man who is willing to accept his failures and move forward.
Shame to the boy who covers his eyes and points to others.
@@chriseleftheriadis9379 nah,sorry try again
Chris Eleftheriadis ha lol 😂 good joke he a man baby 🍼
ThaYoungWolf man who accepted his failure is also the kind of person to turn down Republic credits because he needs something more real if you know what I mean
Its easy to move foward whe u have millions waiting for u over at WB. Wouldn't you say?
@@grahamdalrymple8483 this chris guy deleted his comment!!! Ha!
How the Star Wars trilogies differ from one another:
In the original trilogy I thought the middle film was the best.
In the prequel trilogy I thought the final film was the best.
In the Disney trilogy I thought the first film was the least bad.
Accurate
I personally like Return of the Jedi more than Empire Strikes Back, but I would be lying if I said it was better.
The first movie in the Disney trilogy is one that could have been great in retrospect, but that hinged on what happened in the next one, and Disney completely dropped the ball.
Rey should have been Luke's daughter. Him mourning his own kid because he thought she'd been murdered by her cousin because of his failings as a teacher would have been ample justification for him going into seclusion. Then they could have revealed that she was actually dumped on Jakku by Kylo, because the one person he couldn't bring himself to kill was his cousin, which would have been fitting given that he was torn between light and dark side, and would have explained why Leia hugged Rey instead of Chewie in TFA as she could have recognized the niece she had thought was dead for years, and would have made the end of TFA jaw dropping when they picked it back up in the next movie.
Agreed.
And that's saying something, because The Force Awakens was trash.
Wow, his response was... actually really reasonable and respectful. I’m certainly not used to that.
Off disneys leash
@JMAN got to dissagree there bud,mi3 was a bag of shit no story no plot just action scene after scene, and super 8 had it not been for steven speilberg stepping in as executive producer that movie would have been filled with mystery boxes and prob would have ended on one too
he didnt even have a good plot point for mi3 so invented something he didnt even have to explain lmfao gonna get an oscar one day that boy
JJ sounds like he doesn’t really like the movie himself.
The Kathleen cut.. haha
Infected Banana he doesn’t
he put his name on it.
Quentin Tarantino says JJ acknowledged no one like his star trek movies, and jj seems to acknowlege sometimes that he doesnt really like his star wars films
It definitely wasn't the version he wanted to release. His cut was about 30-40 minutes longer, and actually fleshed out some plot points that really needed it.
Oh the man who say: “If you are someone who feels threatened by women and needs to lash out against them, you can probably find an enemy in 'Star Wars“.
This is what you call a back pedal. Behind the scenes they know they got too cockey and fucked it up. They are finally coming to terms with it and are now going to have focus on the mythos and story for future projects rather then slapping whatever to together with a progressive check box.
Dash Attack yeh too true... and in the meantime I’m spending all my Star Wars merch cash on things that aren’t part of a company that insulted me for being a longtime fan.
lowang fu kyu well he is a Jew, it would be a shock if it wasn’t that way
@@creed8712 its not cause he is a jew. Everyone likes money. Smart people earn money while delivering good products
@@Rasengan9000ttt Perhaps after the fans dogpiled on him, it knocked some sense into JJ.
Praise where due.
He answered professionally, thanking both the audience who loved or hated that movie. He praised the staff and crew but not the film itself, which is also professional: u praise the effort of the project team regardless of the outcome.
All that being said, this was merely a pinch of seasoning on whats essentially a burnt-to-ash turkey dinner.
Even if he feels the same way Roundhead Johnson does, he remains polite as he should, props to JJ
Notice how he says he’s grateful. This suggests that he feels that not even he deserves the praise he is getting for this film.
I feel its probably cuze of the reshoots and changes that happened to it its basically garbage and now and he just feels bad that it ended up like that
Mykel Hardin no, but with his tone and the context.
He’s trying to imply doesn’t deserve the scorn either.
@Mykel Hardin The dude never said that lol, 👋 The video has the context you're looking for. 👋
Man, I just re-watched _Galaxy Quest_ two nights ago, and although about a fictional series, the writers and director clearly wanted to celebrate the very idea of fandom - even having the most dedicated fans help save the day at the end. *That* is how you treat fans of your show. Wish Hollywood film makers would watch that movie and take its lessons to heart.
If only he can respect the franchise.
He’s right the (CAST) did do a good job but if you’re on a team sport and the coach and owner is not doing a good job, 9 out of 10 times you will lose.
I never blamed JJ for how this turned out. Dude was working with what he had.
He started it with Force Awokens.
He was working with what he had, which wasnt much, after the roundest head on earth and his master KK got through with the it.
Fuck off JJ, he was the one who copy-paste the original trilogy to the new trilogy, he is the only to blame of the first and third star wars "original trilogy clone" new episodes
Lens Flare Boy had Vulcans running and screaming for their lives in his Trek/Star Wars fan flick when the original Spock said from the begining that a Vulcan would never cry out. Then he got an actual Star Wars movie placed in his hands. Yeah, that turned out well.
Same here.
I give him the benefit of the doubt.
If only they'd respect the franchise and let Trevorow make a movie.
@Marlon Cebo Better off he didn't get to do it. As far as I'm concerned the sequel trilogy was already dead beyond saving. However I think for spin off films I don't see why Trevorrow shouldn't get his chance. Obvs Disney will think differently and want yes men who are all smiles for the cameras like Abrams and Howard. Let's not forget though that it looked like Rian Johnson seemed to have a lot more creative freedom and I really don't understand why. I wasn't there when they were writing up these movies of course but from the stories it feels like KK was involved with Abrams a lot more than she was with RJ. With RJ it feels like they just told him go away and write something, accept his first draft and shot the film
His version would have sucked too , it's like comparing diarea to a shit sandwich
Legends continuity would be better. I.e. Jacen & Jaina Solo also Mara Jade.
@@NateIsCorrupt The Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn would be a good adaptation to start. Even the Dark Empire comics line would be much better than Rise of Skywalker. At least, Palpatine's return was plausibly explained in Dark Empire.
Honestly, even if Trevorrow did make episode 9, in the end, the whole sequel trilogy would've been a mess. True some of the story concepts and the concept arts look really great, but it still wouldn't save the trilogy. I mean as we saw after all of this, there were never any plans or any kind of clear directions when making these movies. Both the original and prequel trilogies had some kind of plan and cohesive towards making them. Even though the prequels weren't that good (except for episode 3 which was good, though there were some flaws in there), all three of them had some kind of connection and somewhat good storytelling between them. At least in both my opinions and after rewatching all of them again to see those comparisons.
Rian "Roundhead Rian" Johnson: HOW DARE YOU? REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
If Lucasfilm had handled TLJ this way, maybe Solo wouldn't have lost money.
If TLJ didn't suck, completly disrespect cannon, and be so woke as to be used by researchers to induce fatal insomnia, then maybe Solo would have at least boke even.
I'm convinced that most of the hate for TLJ is the result of RJ and Lucasfilm not being respectful with the fanbase. Actively antagonizing those that have valid issues with the movie only makes people more upset with it.
@@Albertosn3 I agree, yet at the same time at this level of film making with the handling of a milti billion dollar franchise, there are things In TLJ that clearly sow that this was the work of a director who didn't care about the long term implications of his choices in narrative, and a president who wanted to push blatent agenda in your face instead of actually build a proper heros journey and coherent story arc.
Jar Jar Abrams is equally as guilty as Ruin Johnson there was no cohesion. Those two directors were effectively giving each other the middle finger
Didn't Abrams write treatments for a trilogy? But even if he did, it's not totally in his hands.
Basically, Johnson said "fuck you", and Abrams said, "fuck you back." In short, Abrams didn't really do anything wrong.
@@JoshMcSwain sort of he had some preps here and there but from what I read about the last jedi bowling ball johnson literally throw that in the trash while he went to write his own script for the movie
@@JoshMcSwain Why does anyone give a shit what JJ may have had in mind? He didnt create Star Wars, and he was part of the group who voted to toss out Lucas's ideas.
@Eddie 5 People always white knighting for JJ. He made 2 of the 3 movies of the sequel trilogy, and yet somehow he gets less guilt than Rian?! JJ friggin tossed out Lucas's outlines. It serves him right to have his own ideas ignored..
I saw Hope with The Force Awakens
I personally dislike the last Jedi
I’m just disappointed at Rise of Skywalker
Damn. Couldn’t been.....
What hope with tfa? Cardboard new characters, ot characters ruined beyond repair, plot written by a 12 year old. It's utter trash.
Remake of 8 and 9 :
Episode 8 : Duel of the Fates
Episode 9 : Legacy of the force
I find your hate towards the movie disturbing
Ivan Timofeevich tbf TFA got the ball rolling ,the 2nd film in a trilogy is always crucial to character development and mythos building ,but I do understand about it being a rehash of a new hope .
These days I just watch TFA just to try and remind of myself of the hype that existed between it and TLJ .
Jan prime1909 eh?
He's just being polite.
If he respected fans he wouldn't have made such uninspired, hackish drivel in the first place.
It's amazing how much goodwill a little humility can generate. This is something that Hollywood no longer seems capable fo understanding. And this is why we hate them.
JJ gets what he deserves, he insulted the fans when he said we were scared of strong women. But I believe that not only JJ suffered. I also think that in Lucasfilms now they know it too.
Do not insult your buyers.
He’s only trying to schmooze his way out of trouble now. He’s as guilty as anyone for what happened to Star Wars.
ay big up my man abrams for respecting the fans...
JJ has always been respectful to the fans. Minus some of his quotes taken out of context he's always been very diplomatic.
JJ doing damage control trying to collect on his WB DC contract!
I never thought I would hear or see those words on screen.
He clearly feels its all over the place and wasn't happy about what they did to his movie, but he's too smart to directly insult the Mouse.
Perhaps, due to seeing that this film franchise is now DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR, he has no other choice but to be a little humble now.
I think its a bit too little too late. Jar Jar also played the same game and also contributed to the absolute pile of garbage SW has become. This all was doomed to fail with TFA.
EDIT: I don't actually believe he's learned anything. I'll be perfectly happy to be proven wrong though.
They're both turds, but Jay Jay likes to stay polished. I'll give him that.
To be fair, Rian Johnson gives turds a bad name.
Fenrir Fire true, however polished turds are more visible because they shine.
I'll give credit to Jar Jar he is a fan trying to do his best (copy pasting stories with bigger and more special effects) whereas Rian is clearly not a fan and hates the franchise.
@@artingevondyan1613 Yeah, Star Wars "LOST" it's way.
I don't believe anything JarJar says, he's shown his true colors. They're in full damage control now, they will say anything to get their money back, they're just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. As some of you said, I'll believe them when they let Trevorrow make a movie.
Rise of Skywalker is better even if the ending sucked. There was still some cool scenes and they did have Hayden voice though it should have been a ghost.
Dash Attack _A Jedi’s weapon deserves more respect._
Agreed. Loads better than TLJ, but it's still garbage.
Ugh At least it was a Apology a half assed Apology bit a Apology.
Ikr, I liked it
A bit of humility goes a long way.
He doesn't give a crap he got paid that's all that matters to him!
Still haven’t seen The fall of skywalker. I’d rather play in traffic.
Rian Johnson and tiny eyes KK killed Star Wars.
Mandalorian, as awesome as it is, is only going to keep it on life support.
I won't forget what JJ said about "toxic" fans. He's just backtracking now because The Fandom Menace won.
As refreshingly genuine as his response is, i wish it had been said sooner.
The Rise of Skywalker was still bad and J.J has trouble not ripping off stuff, but at least J.J behaves like an adult and admits his flaws.
Edit: My concern however is that he has backpedalled before, so this could be another case of that.
Just watched tRoS with niece, she was unsure how to feel after binge watching Star Wars movies for the first time. I showed her KotOR trailers and she was like "why didn't we get something like that?"
J.J. Has earned back my respect for the moment.
Imagine how much better shape Star Wars would be in if they had treated fans with respect for the last few years.
Social Justice League
Look how chill he is after destroying another franchise. Onto DC properties next.
This made me day :-)
Previous to his directing of Star Wars films. I loved his Super 8 film.
Welp hes about to get fired. Would just be a repeat of colin trevorrow all over again...
About to?
subbed! they should give faverou and the mandalorian team the helm for star wars moving forward tbh. just imagine what they whould have done for the cinematic universe for sw... keep releasing good series to establish a good platform and use that to expand to new movies with interesting stories to move forward
If someone says they saw your movie and hated it, you say thank you for seeing my movie. It never hurts to mention how much you love ALL of the fans. I mean, it's not that complicated, of course, it might be easier just to make a good movie, but you can't have everything!
I think its pretty telling as well that he said "to the ones who liked it, they have dubious taste"
I'm not convinced this is anything more than damage control speak. JJ's actions before, during and after his next movie will let me know whether or not I should believe him here.
Good video Jeremy!
We need ballsy directors and producers, like we had in the 70's and 80's. That's why movies of that era were amazing.
I haven’t seen the fall of Skywalker yet
Well he's doing it in times of damage control, let's not forget that.
J.J. Is a good person who I’ll admit copying of a new hope but still was an enjoyable movie that had good introduction to characters and a closing that had you waiting for the next movie. As for R.J. He set everything on fire.
I appreciate him for seeming to almost side with us on the final product (and I do seriously question the ones who liked it), but I wonder if he's just coming down on Disney's alleged behind the scenes reworking of his film, rather than owning up to the fundamentally bad MacGuffin story elements that he WAS responsible for...
Lol “dubious” of your taste lol had me crying hahaha 😂
this is all we ever wanted just a little bit of fuckin respect, granted a little bit too little too late, but respect to JJ Abrams for at least acknowledging that even though it doesn't mean much now
He was a gentleman
These videos are easily more entertaining then the movies themselves.
I generally hate JJ Abrams yet he's significantly more decent than those other three horsemen.
"Coaches that listen to the fans are destined to be sitting with the audience next week" You can apply that same logic to movies. People always say "Listen o the fans", but the problem with that is, which fans do you listen to? Every fan has their own idea of what they want. If you listen to one group, you're gonna piss another group off. Movie studios should just make the movies they want to make without worrying about what group of fans to listen to.
Disney Star Wars is not canon!
"...Dubious taste" LOL
He still had a huge part in screwing up Star Wars.
I will never forgive them, kinda like how nobody would give anybody for messing up the Beatles
He has my respects and I hope he does well in DC
the blu-ray should have been coming out sometime in the next two months but i dont think its coming for a while yet and i hope that they make it a totally different movie, it would be a wise decision cause they would make tons of money
JJ Abrams when someone criticises his movie: I respect that.
Rian Johnson when someone criticises his movie: YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I SACRIFICED?!!!!
The fans dont want shame or anger. I bet my ass that if RJ did not say anything about tlj or simply said something like "sorry, i tried to do my thing, i apologize if it was not of your liking" about 80% of the fanbase would just move on
Abrams came back to the scene of the crime for sure.
JJ respects those who came before him. Lucas, Spielberg, etc. Makes it way easier to respect him than Rian Johnson.
yeah he sure respected Lucas with TFA and also the fans when he insulted them. Tough up man, that guy is a liar.
JJ, respect dude
Say what you want about sequel trilogy but The Force Awakens was a perfect start to it.
lmao no it wasn't

Very professional.
I’ll still watch JJ’s movies just cause of his humility
Touche JJ. He knows he did HIS best with what he had to work with. He patched up a ship that was already under the water n tried to get it seaworthy again. Plus jj learned from rians mistake.
I want a JJ Superman
Now he can go finish off the DC universe films!
Lucasfail employees was the main reason I left Disney Star Wars. Forever
It's so bad that I don't even feel the urge to watch it like I do with the orignals
I think JJ has always been respectful (correct me if wrong)
Okay this pretty much confirms Disney fucked with his script and vision
I think JJ is ultimately a star wars fan. He's disappointed with how things turned out too, even if a portion of its failure is his own fault.
He just doesn't want people boycotting his DC movie
Exactly, he's a coward, he calls sexist to the fans.
It was gonna be a mission and a half to make episode nine decent with all the people that have their hands in the project
I may not have liked the movie, but I have respect for JJ! Shame on Ruin!
I'd like to shake his hand for admitting that.
I give JJ props for handling this the way he did but I get the impression he says what he thinks he needs to at the time.
Dubious of your tastes? 👍👍👍 we know you ain’t kidding
I got the feeling RoS was originally Abrams' plan ep 8 and 9 but he had to cram them into one film to fit the trilogy structure. He probably knew he was being forced to attempt the impossible and doesn't like it since it falls so short of what he wanted.
Part of me likes that he has been diplomatic about the reaction towards the movie and is a model for all filmmakers to be professional about all of it. Another part of me thinks he’s only saying it because he no longer has any responsibility or obligation towards it anymore. It’ll be interesting to hear what he has to say within the next five or ten years about his experiences with all of this.
Social success is a popularity contest, this is how you play the game!
I just think Dave Filoni should be incharge of Creativity for Star Wars as I think he will Respect the Fans. I hope to see a continuity of Legends as Jaina, Mara Jade etc is amazing for Star Wars and Old Republic with Revan, Bastilia, HK-47 etc.
Showing respect is a good start.
One day he will reveal his real thoughts about the course Rian Johnson took.
The perfect phone ca....*cough* perfect movie!
I really liked TFA aside from Starkiller Base and Leia. I know people didn’t like Hans death but Ford wanted to be done with Star Wars so I get it. I think JJ had the impossible task of cleaning up the mess left by TLJ and working with Kennedy. I know I might be in the minority but I loved what he did with Star Trek and loved what he did with TFA. Unfortunately TLJ and RoS made TFA worse.
New found respect for JJ
Does anyone have Rian Johnson’s exact words of when he said there weren’t any valid criticisms of his movie?
Overall I thought the movie, as a movie, was good. However, the movie itself could've stayed in line with the overall franchise, old and new, instead of throwing it away and destroying both the old and new characters.
That being said, what I liked about TRoS was that it had a lot more story to it, and the movies scenes didn't feel out of place.
The DC EU is already in a bad place. Star Wars and Star Trek already had lore he ignored. Unless he changes Wonder Woman for the worst, he can't do much damage to the DC movies. They have already done that themselves.
Doomcock would say this is pandering to go too the DCU look out for Woke Jar Jar Abrams brings.
Well, there’s something you get from Hollywood very often.
If he truly respected the Star Wars fans, he would publicly declare the Disney trilogy non-canon, call Rian Johnson a talent-less hack, and literally kick Kathleen Kennedy out of Lucasfilms.
