No insurance basically for the reason I wouldn't of been paid out anyway. The get out clauses are laughable on tool cover. I wasn't working at the time my van was broken into. I was jury service add a proper kick in the teeth! My own fault for leaving them in there. Although you should be able to leave your own property in your own van!
In the autumn a minicab driver pulled out of a side turning into the front corner of my wife's Freelander. He hit it hard enough to bend the chassis rails and all the airbags went off. My wife was hurt so the police were called. The minicab driver lied and said that my wife was indicating left, but fortunately we got the number of the couple behind my wife, and they confirmed that this wasn't true. The police decided not to pursue the case (neither driving without due care, or perverting the course of justice) despite my wifes injuries and destroyed car. But go through a ford a bit quick and splash some water.......
It's this sort of situation where a dashcam is invaluable. Someone ran into me on a blind bend. He was travelling too fast and not paying attention. I managed to stop, he ran into me and ricocheted into the ditch. I had it all on dashcam. Despite this, and his insurance company having the footage, he still claimed he had stopped and I ran into him! People will lie through there back teeth to try protect their no-claims. They paid up! Moral of the the story, get a dashcam!
Was it the police that decided not to proceed, or was it the CPS? Police gather evidience and present a case to the CPS and it is up to them to run with it or not.

Probably careless driving, up to 5 grand in fines, 3 to 9 points and even a ban are possible. And yes they should be nicked, too fast and the vehicle can lift, losing control enough to hit another coming the other way head on. They also risk swamping someone else who is going through carefully destroying their car too, as one of the drivers nearly did.

They have had lots of complaints from locals, about breaking speed limits, and reckless driving. I think you will also find that there are other police in the county - not just these cops in the video.
@@davefb I am quite sure that they can would have hundreds of customers actually doing stupid and dangerous shit on the roads, but they prefer to lurk a spot where pedestrians gather to intentionally get splashed by passing cars, cars that splash them just to spark their joy, and not actually performing anything dangerous by doing so. I mean yes. Splashing random pedestrians by going trough puddles is illegal in most countries, but when the pedestrians ask for it in order to have fun, I think police can attend more serious business, or at most just supervise the action in case anything truly dangerous happens without interfering.

Actually, there are Clear reasons for them deciding to follow, these could be Musical Car Horns , ( illegal ) accelerating out and not slowing to dry your brakes (driving without due care and attention) High Speed Pass to splash people (driving without consideration to road users , ((pedestrians ) ) ) Insurance or Tax , issues , ? the Ford attracts vans , and old ones there is a high chance someone will drive something poor or maybe they just smell weed on the approach also the Ford is the only route to 614 that avoids ANPR cameras at Ollerton roundabout. add all these together and it is very good for police statistics and safety warnings of drivers.

It’s a variety of reasons. Some are crossing onto the wrong side of the road on a bend, others not wearing their seatbelts, some don’t have correct number plates and others come up as an ‘interest’ when the police scan their number plate

In short speeding or careless driving. In some cases clearly breaking the 30 mph speed limit. & In fewer cases not breaking the speed but still going through the ford too fast and kicking up too much water beyond what's strictly considered safe, competent and considerate driving. Basically if you go through fast enough that you kick up the water, strictly speaking you not going through it safely.

Plod are here because of the idiots. By showing presence it may calm the idiots down thus preventing a possible accident.

In some cases clearly breaking the 30 mph speed limit. & In fewer cases not breaking the speed but still going through the ford too fast and kicking up too much water beyond what's strictly considered safe, competent and considerate driving. Basically if you go through fast enough that you kick up the water, strictly speaking you not going through it safely.

CAN SOMEONE explain to me here we see a Policemen racing after people driving through a river " below a speed limit making a splash " where as in the news yesterday a women reported a car stolen police refused to do anything she even tracked her own car down and they still would not help her , and also another guy had his house broken into twice and the police would not even come out !!!!!!! it is because there is NO MONEY in it for them as in a a fine , so they can't make any money

If you've seen some of the other videos you will have seen some very reckless examples of driving which have caught the attention of plod. The only thing that was particularly bad in this video is at 0:25 with the numpty in the Disco ploughing though when the other car was already crossing, hopefully you can see the stupidity of that. Plod are here because of the idiots. By showing presence it may calm the idiots down thus preventing a possible accident.

Wasting taxpayer dollars on that instead of using the money to build a proper bridge over the ford… Brilliant! Meanwhile, they’ll drive through the ford themselves to take down people who have also driven through it!
You will find that police do occassionally have to btreak the speed limit to catch offenders. Any fool knows that.
