I knew that Audi had serious problems when it stopped at a give way sign.
Yup, pushed the head gasket out or cracked the head, maybe some bent rods too....... very expensive mistake.

The Disco driver was more careful than anyone else
A perfect example of people who buy expensive 4x4’s mainly for status, without knowing anything about how to use their true capabilities, and with no intention of doing so. The wading depth of that Disco would be around 80cm (at least the top of the wheel arches) and it was well within that. The only concern is for the electrics, it’s advisable to give all connections a good blast of WD40 to expel the moisture because that water will corrode them over time and it contains a lot of crap which will also contaminate them. Those issues may not become apparent until a week or two after the event.

I think the disco actualy made an emergency stop itsself. I had it the other day driving a skoda octavia on the ramp in my garage all of a sudden the car completely stopped.
@@justinneill5003 I think you miss the fact that going to fast causes a bow wave which comes back and envelopes the front air intake, as it's much higher than the "wading depth". The Disco wa being sensible. You must never have seen a single one of these videos in your life...
@@1Dustin Thanks for that. I think I probably have more experience of wading through deep water in a 4x4 than you do. Two years ago I successfully drove my Land Cruiser through a flooded village up to the top of its wheel arches. If you knew what you were talking about, you would understand that creating a slight bow wave is an important part of driving through deep water, as it creates a trough at the front of the vehicle. It only rolls back and floods the air intake if you are daft enough to stop, and even the least experienced off roader understands that you have to keep moving slowly but steadily keeping some pressure on the gas pedal.

Somebody in the background actually said all you need to know, “it’s not how high the car is, it’s how high the air box is”, most cars air intake is at the top of the wheel arch, so if that’s under water your done!

Yay....Ben is back...sorry you have to travel further now days......I love the people who start to drive in and their brain kicks ON..."Danger Will Rogers" and stop and back up! Over in the US, a hyper-locked engine is rarely repaired.....we just replace it with a new one....very expensive!

4x4s and trucks that could go fast in the flood went slow-ish and did not stall but cars that should go slow in the flood went fast and stalled. Makes sense.

Audi will have an very expensive bill very soon I'm sure. I had some sympathy for the Audi driver as it dips halfway through, until I saw the big red "DO NOT CROSS WHEN IN FLOOD" sign, then my sympathy just kind of vanished.

Seen someone get stuck just like that. It’s dead easy to get out of the water put car in gear and turn the key, car will move on the starter motor.
Watched a video of someone taking apart a hydro locked merc. engine it had bent 2 con rods, and these thick piece of metal they quite twisted

Maybe if human beings were educated more on the workings of an internal combustion engine and the term hydro locking they may think twice about attempting such things!
