      For us french canadians, GSP is a very very very kind and respectful guys, he's always there to help people from his community in such a humble way. He's very loved and appreciated not only as a fighter but as a human being here in Quebec.

    Amazing how openly he talks about these things. I wonder if anxiety is part of it. OCD and anxiety are surely related, overly trying to control the things when something (bigger) is making you anxious. Either way what a great personality

    Real OCD can be life altering and incredibly painful and stressful. Washing your hands 100 times a day, not stepping on cracks on the road.

      I suffer from the condition myself. Very debilitating, but also the most treatable mental condition out there.
      If you know how to approach ocd, the volume can be turned way down. You'll discover that a "ocd" brain, that is not wrecked with fear, is quite intelligent and conscientious. I think you need these two traits to become succesful at anything you do

    I am grateful for GSP's perspective. His combat sports career has given him a set of intense and unique experiences, and he is apparently intelligent, self aware and communicates very well. We get to enjoy a great insight into life from him.

    Holding your breath is definitely OCD

  • @setsumikokonoe4814
    @setsumikokonoe4814 Год назад +1

    Not accomplishing the challenge he set for himself (holding his breath) is perceived by him as a failure, and in letting the younger man hold the door for him he accepts being in greater need and presents himself as weaker. It is the ego and the same thing that is often responsible for creating great athlete's, that innate fear of losing.

    I’m retiring from Army in 3 years, was very successful at it…I am struggling like hell trying to change some of the things that I had to do in the Army that made me successful. That won’t work in the civilian sector and it’s so hard…

    Now I understand all the Michael Jordan , Larry bird or Ali stories.

    GSP, YOU’RE DEFINITELY NOT ALONE WITH FEELING THE WAY THAT YOU FEEL AFTER RETIREMENT. Just ask The GOAT, AIR JORDAN. 😎
    Also, maybe you should try taking up Golf. Golf could possibly help deal with your feelings or competitive urges in a healthy manner. 🤔🤔🤔
