And they call English hard....LIES. In Korean they seem so respectful that they even use different pronunciations for the same word depending on age unlike English we're it's just one word for everybody. I hope I can remember all this *sigh* 😞
It's not different pronunciation, it's different conjugations. The verb "Hada" (to do) is conjugated into hae or haeyo or hamnida depending on the required level of honorifics.
qinella oops that's what I meant not pronunciation but you conjugate in Spanish too, I think English is one of the only languages that you don't have to do that.
고마워 [Go Ma Wo] - INFORMAL (use towards friends, siblings and those younger than you) 고마워요 [Go Ma Wo Yo] - FORMAL (use towards those older than you) 고맙습니다 [Go Map Seup Nee Dah] - More formal and polite than 고마워요 감사해요 [Gam Sa Hae Yo] - FORMAL (used towards those older than you) 감사합니다 [Gam Sa Hap Nee Dah] - HONORIFIC. More formal and polite than 감사해요. Use towards elders and when adressing the public.
Rielle Asuncion Me too. I started watching dramas and then I had a kid in my class whose mother spoke Korean to him and I wanted to speak with him. She gave me some words I was hooked. I'm going start learning again using these videos and then I want to learn how to right. Much success to you as you learn.
This is so impressive. The way you teach really makes it easy to learn. One of the things that annoys me the most about some other language teachers is they only tell you the most commonly used way to say something. I think that to learn the variation is very important.
So when I try to say "gam sa hap nee dah" faster it sounds like "gamsahneedah" can koreans actually hear that you didn't literally say "hap" or would you get away with it? Otherwise I'll have to speak like 1 mph just to pronounce every syllable clearly -_-
+Elisa Scavolini- thats the samething i was thinking. when im watching a lot of my favorite groups i hear gamsamnida instead of gam sa ham nida. When i went to my favorite Ramen spot i was afraid to say it because i didnt want to say it wrong.
this is a really good way to learn, because it gives you all the variations and the skit and conversations at the end help you remember it better.you're going to remember a funny video you watched, right?so gamsamnida!!!
Ja,ja, !Que buena forma de ensenar y las buenas transformaciones de la prof. Ho gracias me gusta su idioma e intentare aprender lo mas que pueda, gracias
@TheLivingDeadOne I may be able to explain that but anyone can correct me on this. I happened to learn Korean through few sources. So, when the 'B' consonant meets the 'N' consonant, the reading rule comes into place and it will sound like a 'M' sound when you say it fast. That's why you said it like a 'hamnida' instead of 'habnida'. As for the the 'go ma wo', the 'G' is pronounced with a soft 'K' sound. Hope that explains it well. Do note that I'm not that good in Korean yet. LOL
@superstarpolarbear it's the same. when a ㅂ=b meets the word ㄴ=n, the ㅂ will be pronounced as 'm'. So, it will be kamsa hamnida instead of kamsa hapnida. but it will be spelled as kamsa hapnida in korean.
How about how to ask someone out whether it be a date or friends? Love the creativity and uniqueness your bring to your lessons, something that is not commonly seen.
@eros14521 It seems I won't be teaching just Korean, but also some brief life lessons: There is nothing new under the sun. You should also know that plagiarism is not a racial quality. Humans inspire one another and at times discover someone else has similar ideas as them.
It is "kam-sa-hap-ni-da" or "kam-sa-ham-ni-da" But like in any language, when you speak fast there will be certain syllables that are more silent than each other. the "hap/ham" sound is pronounced towards the back of the throat so is not as audible but is still a part of the speech. Like in English when some people prounounce "mountain" like "moun-ain," the 't' is a little less audible but we assume it's there and understand you just fine. Same with Korean and 'kam-sa-hap-ni-da.'
Proud of myself for instantly recognizing in BTS War of Hormone, Rapmon saying 감 사 해 in the first line ^-^ (I assume its equivalent to 고 마 워 since the 요 isn't present)
Thanks for this. Trying to learn some korean words for when I visit my cousin, so it's not needed for explanation if I say something in japanese, I can say it in hers and only in japanese if wanted with us. we both know English but we tried learning the other ones we know too. So this is good practice to me when she says something in korean to me as well.
I know 아니에요 is a way of saying you're welcome, it literally means "no" but the 요 on the end makes it formal and turns it into you're welcome, kinda like saying "no problem" in english.
I love the way you make things simple.... I must admit it's fun learning with you😍😍. I cleared so many doubts about koran watching your videos. 고 마워요.😊
hahaha lol @the last part xD you're so funny and creative~ thanks for making all these tuts :3 감사합니다~!♥ also, i think it'd be nice to learn 'yes' and 'no' ... :) also 'please', please :D
I just want too say thank you and have a nice day (my boss is korean) he be trying to say spanish words so might as well embrace hid language. What are some other Words i can say
Oh oh but... But you should mention: when you read each syllable separately the pronunciation is very slightly different from when you read the whole thing together.
LMFAO I almost told someone my age "감사합니다" ahahhaha oh God, I'm dying. Practicing my Korean online >__< I've made some mistakes, but I'm happy that I'm going for it! :D -- p.s. And this is the first sentence I've put together, "나는 야채 좋아" (I like vegetables).
@Abby Attan The "G" sounds a little like a "K" Because the "G" sound is soft, so it sounds kind of like a cross between a "G" and a "K". I hope this helped. (^_^)
This might be a little late for 'next week'. We just moved to Korea and will be living here for the next 8 months. My kids are really into science and space, and I'm trying to find shows that talk about those kinds of things in Korean. Without knowing a lot of the specific words, it's easy to get lost. My question is this. How do you say all the planets names, in Korean?
@linkcaster2 neun is like. . . Is or are in our language. :"> neo or "no" is you. :"> naneun means "I am" :D Naega means Me or I as well jeoneun or "chonun" as they say it is "I", only formal. :D
This was really helpful..!There's one more thing i was curious about..Can you tell me if 'Neomu neomu gam sa hae yo' a correct phrase if I want to say thankyou very very much??And if yes what are the situations or the people for whom we can use it..
Big question if you can answer me. (Caps used to explain my confusion) EXAMPLE GIVEN 1:43 Why is it "Gam sa haP nee dah" Sounds like "Kom sa HaM nee dah" when you speak it. Even Go ma wo" sounds like "Ko ma wo" . You initially pronounce them as spelt then later say them otherwise. PS Love this channel, you're very talented!
Is this correct. 안녕히계세요 when they stay and I leave. Like at gs25 when you say bye to a person working there. And I say 안녕히 가세요 when they leave, for example in an elevator.
@Kennitastic ahhh, i did get your point, normally it's the same way in Filipino language using "don't mention it" or "don't worry about it" if it's just a small matter...though i guess i just want to learn how to say "you welcome" in Korean...^_^) ...and if my research is correct, it's 천만에요 (cheonmaneyo)...heheh:)! thanks for your sharing your opinion*_-)
And they call English hard....LIES. In Korean they seem so respectful that they even use different pronunciations for the same word depending on age unlike English we're it's just one word for everybody. I hope I can remember all this *sigh* 😞
+Deandra Who calls English hard? The only thing particularly difficult about English in my opinion is the irregular pronunciation.
Podimann so many people.... yet many people who don't speak it catch on quickly like?? hard how?? smh
I always think that because be have no set sound for each letter.

One of the characters says "kom som neda". Is that formal or informal?
I think it's formal because the "nida" ending.

Thank you. I appreciate the reply. I was actually referring to the fact that she said it in 3 syllables instead of 4.
I always get a heart attack when Grandma Kim teaches the lesson. Please dont strain yourself!!!! XD
