- This CCI (Custom Coasters International) wooden twister coaster opened along with the park, which was called VisionLand, in 1998. The park closed in 2002 and reopened in 2003 after being sold to Southland Entertainment Group. Rampage closed again in 2011, this time for four years when the park was sold again and the focus was centered on the water park. In 2014 the park was sold to its current operators, the Koch family, who completely refurbished the coaster and reopened it in 2015.
Alabama Splash Adventure is located near Birmingham in Bessemer, Alabama.

Also the people who own Holiday World Own this park now also. Can not wait to see what he do
Liar, Jk, I get it, it's a joke.
My home park and coaster. They did a great job refurbishing the coaster. The lateral Gs are still there, but it packs a bit of airtime, something it severely lacked before.
Perro V you think the dry park is going to comeback with more new rides and maybe one or two more coasters?
But I do miss the "Rampage Rumba".
DCM -[Some Potential]- I think Dan himself said on Facebook that around 2021 or 2022, he’s putting in something like Mine Blower at Fun Spot Orlando if attendance satisfies it.
Perro V Ok cool. But what about Flat rides? I remember that some time years ago, they took out everything other then rampage, and was more focus on the water park.
Perro V Nvm, I see they brought back majority of them 🙂👍. I wonder why they got rid of them before?
This looks like a REALLY GOOD wooden coaster. Three solid laps with good pacing even on the last. If they have a reduced late-admission, it looks worth it just to marathon this.
One of the best wooden coasters ever! Some great "OH SHIT!!!" airtime on this ride. Sadly, the rest of the park blows but still worth a trip just for this wooden masterpiece.
It hardly blows. It's a family owned amusement park that was brought back from the dead. Since the Koch's bought the park in 2014, they've added seven smaller family rides, five larger family rides, completely retracked a huge wooden coaster, added two new shows, refurbished a handful of buildings, added two new speed slides and a family splash area. Not to mention that had a hell of a mess to clean up from previous ownership: two water rides from knock off manufacturers that needed to be torn down, two slides from knock off manufacturers that needed to be torn out, and crumbling waterpark infrastructure. They are doing a better job than most amusement parks. At least they are constantly growing.
Oh no! The waterpark and the rest of the amusement park is fire! Me and my family go the Alabama Splash Adventure every year and have a blast!
It's ok but its impossible to compete as a full scale amusement park with Six Flags Georgia 2 hours east. For what it is though, its decent especially the water park.
@@eliasmertens9313 He didn't say it "blows because of the Koch family". He didn't assign blame.
It’s better now
I’ve ridden this coaster a few hundred times since the park first opened. I was there opening year and was one of the first to be able to ride. One of the best wooden coasters there is.
It’s so bumpy it feels like it’s about to tear you apart tho😂
Went today and psyched myself up to ride it with my 12 yr old as my husband refused. I was scared SHITLESS but was so worth it!!! Soooo much fun!
Wow! This looks like an AWESOME RIDE! Love that little last end part!
This has given me back problems
I’ve ridden this ride about 70 times since my first time at Alabama Adventure, it was the first roller coaster I ever rid, plus I live 5 minutes away from the park.
Looks like one of the best CCI's!
Do you mean *GCI* instead of “CGI”. CGI is C, Computer. G, Generated. I, Image(s)
@@macaroni7 CCI stands for Custom Coasters International, they were a roller coaster manufacturer before Great Coasters International (GCI) and Gravity Group were formed, and are responsible for coasters such as Rampage, seen here, Megafobia at Oakwood Theme Park, Tonnerre De Zeus at Parc Asterix and Stampida at PortAventura to name a few.
@@macaroni7 it’s a cci
From experience it is!
One of my favorite wood coasters. I'll be riding it in three weeks hopefully
That thing almost touch my soul
That shows you do not have to have the tallest to still have a crazy ride, looks like a super fun ride!
This looks brilliant. So fast!
@CoasterForce, that was the same person conducting the ride for me!
Really great video of a great wooden coaster!
Congrats on 600k! Idk if i’m a little late on that but I just noticed!
Right on time! ;)
That looks like it must be one of the best roller coasters ever
This is so similar to a coaster near me called Megaphobia❤️
Its design was based on Megafobia.
Hannah H thank god somebody said it! Oakwood park is also near me
Yep same thing
Just looks like a bigger version
This looks like how megafobia should’ve been profiles
going here with my friend tomorrow. hope it lives up to what others are saying in this comment section. very excited 👍👍
As an ACE member who lives in Alabama, I gotta say:
Thanks for filming and posting this.
Very underrated coaster, and super intense.
Hoping to go to Gulf Shores this weekend to ride another CCI wooden coaster before it gets bulldozed.
Agreed, my favorite CCI. I will be at WaterVille this weekend also.

Looks like a good ride!
At 2:35, that man in the grey was my manager Michael Schwitek. He's one of the greatest managers you can have in a job like this, he understands the woes of working in guest service and will do what he can to help you through it. I definitely had my troubles with dealing with guests at the park when I worked there, but he always had something to say that'd reassure me and keep me coming the next day. Great boss, great man.
This looks SO fun!
It is
Got to ride 8 times for an ace event. Very fun!
That looks so fun!
i just went on this today and seriously was petrified but then i rode it 9 more time and loved it
Me and my cousins would go here all the time with my grandma and ride this 5 times in a row every time we went. It got boring after a while, but still love going on it.
When you got older it will be exhausting and still worth it!
Amazing!
this looks like one of the best rides in the country
I just rode this for the first time yesterday!
I rode this yesterday
I rode this with a friend a couple of years ago. It was during a downpour and we were the only two people on it. I saw my life flash before my eyes. Scariest thing I've ever done.
This ride holds its speed very well
My home park coaster. Even though it's an awesome woodie I would love to see it RMCed
This is one of the best coasters ever there as fun as space mountain and mt Everest ride at Disney
Looks fun
Hey guys! Loving the content. There's this channel called Coaster Kitten who used your Pandemonium Footage of SFNE by cropping out the watermark. Thought you ought to know.
it looks a little rough from the footage but i would love to ride it!
It's kinda bumpy and the turns are REALLY sharp but it's so fun to ride
It’s fun really fun
Wow this thing looks intense
I’m to scared to actually ride it so thanks for this pov!
What is this a clone of megaphobia
But I thought there could only be one
this closed recently. super sad bc this is my home park. this prob isn’t going to happen but we might be getting an rmc
Dude I thought you said 4k.
Ohhh wait my phone is 360p
Meep.going sir.
There is one of these in wales aswell!
So insane
Where's the splash?! Otherwise great to see a wooden style coaster still standing, weaving in & out of its own supports. Love it! EDIT: Just realised Splash is the name of the park not the ride 😳.
Lol it's also a water park
ok i went on this but like it was so scary so i basically rate it a 7/10 it was fun but like the drop gave me a huge headache lol still so much fan and alabama adventure was so much fun and i loved it so much!!!
Lots of hand chopper bits where the track weaves through its own support structure at the end.
This was genuinely fun, I went today and had to convince myself I wouldn’t die before I rode it. lol when I finally did the drop thingy, the bumpiness kind of made it less scary, which sucked, but it was still super fun and I’d ride it again any day lol
They're certainly taking a long time to reopen the whole park. The river rapids, log ride, bumper cars, ferris wheel and carousel aren't opened yet, and they put anything in Zoomerangs spot yet.
This layout looks like a bigger version of megafobia
If this thing got RMC’d this could be a rmc top 5 and great competition to airieforce one 2 hours away . Still this looks like a great ride.
Is this the same layout as Megaphobia (Oakwood theme park, UK)? Looks very similar
I rode that today and when I tell you I screamed
Imagine you been drinking beer and you get on these rides.
A guy in this vid definitely had an "Oh shi-!" moment right as the first drop started.
Hi I'm from Alabama I have went down the rampage with my cousin and aunt also it is really fun and I didn't scream once believe it or not but I will say the top and the drop is SCARY so yea
i went a week ago and tried rampage for the first time and cried cause i couldnt breath pfft (i have severe anxiety and panic attacks soooo yeah it kinda sucked) i have a feeling most of it might've been because i had never been on a roller coaster prior to this one, maybe my mind was just like "holy crap this is new. shoot im gonna die-" but idk xD going back tuesday. anyone think i should try it again to be sure?
I was on this when I was little, I thought that the whole thing was gonna break just because of how shaky it was lol
Was this video recorded two years ago or just posted because I think that might be me in the front row line🤣🤣🤣
Cool
I went on that twice today
I had got on that on my school field trip
Hey, was that trip yesterday? Because I saw kids on a field trip yesterday.
That ride looks rougher than the beast at King's Island.
Also people say it shut down but I went on it just last month?
I've been on it 17 times in one day
Great ride. Ride this and leave don’t go to the water park. Too many people there can’t swim and makes you nervous.
I rode this yesterday, I lost some brain cells since my head hurt on the first drop.
I love pizza 13938272 oh god that’s so suicidal
I love pizza 13938272 yeah it does that
Ist so fun
Imagine watching this in vr.
You Can Really Watch This In Vr Just Press Your Screen And You Will See 3 dots press that it will give you an option press vr Then Boom
Part of the tracks look pretty unstable. Check the inner corner on top of the hill. Is that normal?
1:37 this ride is great but that airtime hill kills me
POV you jus went on this yesterday
This looks like the 4th best woodie in the u.s only behind toro, lrod, and voyage
I went there and done that
Very similar to Megafobia
@@sweetsunnyvibes hello
@@sweetsunnyvibes erm.... No idea
what do y’all think if they rmc’d this?
I don’t think they would. They want to be mostly a family park so I think they would actually get a family coaster
@@Spark1118 yeah maybe
This is the reason why ion don’t ride roller coasters
I went it and Ilit was my first roller coaster ever it made hated roller coaster even more but then I got over my fear.
I’ve been on this like 200 times, btw the back is really shaky and the front is the steadiest
This absolutely should be RMC’d. Imagine the possibilities already
Tiffany W Why? It doesn’t need to be.
Jsos YTP it has an amazing layout that would set it up for so many elements that it would easily put the park on the map and make the park kinda like Kolmarden
This looks painful. Yes/no??
Not really actually! There are some laterals that kinda throw you to the side but you can prepare for it when you ride it multiple times. I’m going tomorrow so I will try to remember and tell how it is!
@@Spark1118 Ah laterals --- I'm a fat guy over 6ft tall I know what wooden laterals do to my thighs and knees hahaha. Oh well I guess the name "rampage" would be fitting :D
Tip* If you have a fear of falling of sit in the middle
Although I know they reburbished this coaster farly recently, I personally think that this should become an RMC
Not everything needs to be an RMC. Imagine if they did that to the Coney Island Cyclone or Jack Rabbit at Kennywood. There would be outrage. People don’t ride them because they are the most thrilling; they ride them because they are iconic classics.
Yes, but this isn't quite as much of an iconic coaster, so people wouldn't be quite as sad to see it go. Also: this has a much better layout than both of them, so it would be perfect. I think that, in the end, everybody would be happy with the turnout. But you are right, this coaster is just fine the way it is.
📹👍
looks like the gemini
At cedar point?
yeah
@@misterb9833 Gemini is actually a hybrid coaster with steal track and wooden supports
Megafobia: Brother? Brother is that you?
Actually yes!
They are giving it steel track. Sucks
Weeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
today i wint on that 12 to 13 times
Ok
I was on this yesterday and it stopped at the first hill, I peed my pants and then they took us off after it stopped again
How tf do you peel your pants?
Oops meant peed my pants lol
How jerky is it
It’s got a lot of laterals! It is rough but like not unbearable if you know how to brace yourself. It’s a fun coaster!
Never going on it again😂
This is screamin' to be RMC'd!!! Call on "Alan Schilke" he'll fix it!👍
Needs rmc
Omg😅😅😅
😰
I peed myself rideing thos in real ife
you don't know what 4k is. Is what i'm guessing
