- Rampage is a monstrous wooden roller coaster at Alabama Splash Adventure. Built by Custom Coasters International (CCI), this ride runs along the back hill of the amusement park. The ride features some sizable drops and intense, lateral-heavy turns.
Rode this when the park was called VisionLand and was fairly new. Such an underrated and good ride. We were supposed to be there today, but plans fell through.
I'm glad the ride is still running strong.
I marathoned this coaster a few days ago and rode it 31 times. It was the most I had ever ridden a coaster in a row and I could barely walk after. I realized that the second to back row, right side is the best seat on the train. This coaster is extremely underrated and has some very solid airtime and laterals! Great pov!
Thanks for the seat recommendation! I'm planning to ride this in about a month and hope to get a marathon on it like you got (if I can handle it, haha).
It's super easy to marathon because of the crowds. I agree 2nd to back is better than the back due to some valleys being bumpy.
Glad this ride’s managed to survive all the years of turmoil at this park. That first camelback in particular looks amazing! Hope to get on this someday!
I'm glad it still runs strong.
The camelback has some pretty solid floater, if you’ve ridden Goliath at over georgia it has the strength of most that rides airtime hills
This is a really solid wooden coaster. The current owners of this park have taken pretty good care of it. It sat sbno for a while and thankfully got a refurb and was eventually reopened. Its mainly a water park these days but the current ownership is slowly investing in the old amusement park side of the property. This place had a lot of promise 20 years ago but struggled to turn a profit. Most of the amusement park rides got sold off after it closed. Would love to see this park make a comeback.
It's closed this year while they add steel track, but that should have it running smoother in the future.
Good ol CCI. Such great unique layouts. Great POV 🤙❤
Thanks!
I've heard of this coaster but I didn't know it was this intense. I could tell from the video.
Wow.
It's quite wild.
The layout on this one is that good that it deserves a full GCI retrack or a full titan track, just so it can be in peak form for a long time to come. My 2c.
They just keep redoing small sections annually. Those parts are very smooth.
Rode this 7 times today. Most underrated coaster I’ve ridden.
Very good ride.
This looks amazing. That layout is insane.
It's a great ride.
Folks, I've ridden a bunch of coasters, and Rampage is a really good one. It's not the highest, steepest, longest, fastest, smoothest etc, etc, but it hits the overall very mark really, really nicely.
It's a great ride!
Can’t wait to ride this in 2 days
Enjoy!
This looks sweet!
It is.
This looks like such a fun woodie!
Sure is.
Love how this ride has a post-brake section. It has such good airtime, specifically the first drop (strong and linear) and the second to last drop (two kinks of ejector). Never ride this in an even row though! Very rough in those seats. Row 11 is my favorite.
Also there’s this one very rough valley. At least you get good floater coming into the next hill in the front, unlike the other bad moment on the ride, one hill with no airtime. Rest is fantastic with fun airtime and laterals. Super good pacing.
It's a very diverse ride. That one valley is the main reason I avoided an even row.
Cannot wait for the review!
Later this week.
Riding this thing next week. Bussing myself from Atlanta to Birmingham when I visit FSA and SFOG. I love CCI!
Enjoy!
Definitely planning on riding this whenever I return to Six Flags Over Georgia
Well worth a visit.
Looks fun. Sign me up.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great fun.
I grew up in AL, and still never had the chance to ride this, alabama adventure used to be much better in terms of flat rides, but as far as I know rampage was well liked!!
This ride alone is worth a trip.
Have they maintained it well? I rode this YONKS ago but I did get to ride every CCI in the US when it was brand new. I consider myself very lucky and privileged to have been able to do this. This was during the period when I was travelling to the states every single year (from 1998 through 2012) and sometimes twice a year even. When I rode this it was a sweet ride. Compared to something like Wildcat at Hershey and Roar at both SF parks, which I also rode when brand new, and what put me off GCI at the time (including lightning racer which I didn't like much either), it was really great.
Yeah, this was one of the good ones. A CCI of course. As was Villain in Geauga Lake (and they had the wonderful big dipper also, not a CCI obviously lol but Villain was), which tragically demolished 2 beautiful woodies.
The only shit CCI I ever rode was the one at Indiana Beach. Hoosier Hurricane or something it was called. But the little one Cornball something and the Lost mountain were great. All CCI.
The Boss was fantastic when it was new too. Sooo good.
CCIs need a lot of maintenance to stay smooth. There's one bad spot, but most of the ride is smooth.
Reminds me a bit of Megafobia. Same general idea, I guess. Funny how you can often tell a CCI. Those dips in the turns, the hard laterals, the turns underneath other turns to save on wood.
Nearly identical until the ending.
Yeah the layouts look very similar.

The valley after the 2nd turnaround was the only really bad spot.

WOW it actually looks really well maintained. Please disregard previous message of retracking the whole thing.
Look at this back seat POV, incredible quality and you can clearly see the riders ahead of the cam are not being beaten up.

I'll be posting a back row POV tomorrow. The ride was shakier towards the back. There was one spot that was really bad. They spend quite a bit retracking the ride annually and the parts they've touched are smooth.
@@CanobieCoaster Oh ok good to know. I respect the heck out of you Mike which is why I would never patronise you or lie to you as I think THAT would be rude.
So I'll play it straight - Your POVs are almost consistently at the wrong angle and I tend to almost always watch alternatives. The one I linked above shows a perfect back angle POV, flawless. This is a golden example if you care to watch it.
But even your front ones can be facing the air, and back ones too low so all you see is the train. It needs to be half way.
What do you think about Rampage at Alabama Splash Adventure? What would you rate Rampage?
You'll find out in a few days.
