It's an HG P801 and an P802 at the same time. Cargo bed and fifth wheel both on the same chassis.

  • Just a short video to show how I got round the problem of wanting a truck bed Hemtt and needing to pull my 806 trailer or the 805 patriot launcher.
Just cut a hole, reposition and cut the supports and press fit the cargo bed on to the chassis. Then use the crane to lift off the cargo bed.
    Happy to answer any questions

Thankyou. It was an absolute nightmare to cut the base its about 7mm thick and I had to use a hacksaw!

Oh my god thats amazing, honestly I love how you did that, because you can have both worlds, of course if it was me id make the hole more clean because from seeing yours it seems a little rough but it does work regardless, also I do have a question do you plan on changing the servos in the crane so the winch can lower your hook faster and raise it faster?
Oh and Paul do you know the measurements and points you used on your little trailer bed because I wanna do that conversion with my truck bed so I can do it for my 5th wheel.

Thanks Ashley, ok in order then
      1. The hole is rough because the floorplan is solid steel and about 1/4 thick and at the time I cut it all I had was a broken hacksaw blade!
      2. If you speed up any of the movements of the crane it will reduce the lifting power. This is why it moves so slowly. Unfortunately the arm rotation also has a slipping clutch which means you can only turn with maximum weight on the hook if its near vertical or not extended!
3 What measurements do you want, the size of the hole, the position of the hole or the outside dimensions of the bed?

@@paulsmodelshedthat's genius and I would love to copy that. Can you share insight on how and what material your tarp is made from ? Thank you sir

Hi John, Thanks for your Kind message. The tarp was made using kitchen roll. I placed it on top of the truckbed, oildrums and the pallet and using a thick paintbrush applied 50% white PVA glue and water mix until it was soaked and draped nicely. I made the folds and creases and continued to brush it onto all the edges. I then left it to dry. Because it was only paper glue it stuck very lightly to plastic so I then ran a thin blade between the paper and the truck bed and sprayed it green. then when the coats of paint were dry I carefully pulled on all the edges to loosen it until i could lift it on and off.
Others have used toilet roll and baby wipes to get different textures. Watch out for embossed paper if you don't want funny patterns showing on your model.
Search RUclips for "Scale model tarpaulin" and there's loads of tutorials.
      Hope that helps.
      Paul
