Maybe you’re struggling with alternate picking.
Maybe you just can’t get the right technique for sweep picking.

so Damn heavy!!! breathtakingly awesome shreds, you rock!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Alain
You're welcome Ben. We should be the one thanking you for doing the legwork on all those shredders...I'm learning the 30 shredders now. Although it's still going to be a long ride but I'll get there
Great, well I hope you enjoy it!
@@BenHigginsOfficial I'm still waiting to see Patrick Rondat stuff on your videos ! can you do it please ?
When you forget to hit record
LOOOOOOL
BITE YOUR TONGUE
when your string breaks right before 101
...That was the greatest lick ever....opps
Oh no that would be the unendurable misery after playing so well in one take ...... “one take “ :O
This is incredible on so many levels. Uncannily accurate renditions of each guitarist played that well warrants praise enough, but to have worked out individual sections for that many, and then to do the whole thing as ONE TAKE - that's just an insane level of work. I feel privileged to have watched it.
Jamie Witt well said. This guy deserves more recognition
Ben Higgins: You can see it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly...
*proceeds to play all of them flawlessly*
David Ritty he made a slight mistake at the John Petrucci one. You can even see him saying "FUCK"
Anyone remember the name of the song that he plays in his own part?
@@stefanos821 it sounded quite good tho lol, prog you know
Yep not a missed note
@@stefanos821 I don’t think so tho
you dont get nearly as enough recognition as how amazingly you play
So... I basically return to watch this video every few months, and I'm always SUPER impressed. That being said... it has always bothered me that the Paul Gilbert part was played differently than the original "30 shredders." There. I said it. Now do it again! haha... Now excuse me while I re-watch this for the 1000th time...
Omg!!! didn't think I'd see you here 😅
You made my childhood with your videos and your comment on this video has made my early adulthood!
The sheer endurance necessary to do this is impressive enough !
but you just nail everything on the top of that ! :)
(Shawn Lane = Final Boss)
Max Faust final boss jajajajaja
lmao no buckethead is the final boss. He didnt play everything buckethead can play and nobody can
@@guittardaxel7746 Bruh, have you even seen Shawn Lane play? If you had then you wouldn't compare him to Buckethead.
Jason Becker would also be a final boss as he plays at Shawn's speed lmao. But Buckethead in no way could match Shawn's speed lol
mani simp Paul Gilbert was his teacher😅 But Buckethead jammed with Shawn Lane
I remember subscribing back when you did the first 30 shredders...still convinced it's the power of the arm hair. Take my like you beautiful man you!
Haha well it works for me, Joe Satriani and Bruce Dickinson!
Very true, lets just hope no-one gets too close with a Gillette. Keep up the awesome work dude.
You are a genious dude, and not just for being shredding 20 minutes, because that compositions you've written are incredible. You deserve at least 1M likes
My plan was to ask where the f**k was Little Wayne... Got trolled instead...
I love how he puts Marty, Dave, Kirk and Chris together
After Chuck, best part
He played better than Kirk himself
@@Marisolita_95 what are we hating on Kirk now?
In Synyster gates I found a little bit of scream, beast and the harlet, and bat country 🤘🏻
Hat country.
''Hidden Level:Lil Wayne'',well played Sir,well played,specially after Jennifer Batten,who is a super skilled player.
I had her shrapnel record. Ben was on point with her tapping.
THAT WAS INSANE
As a big Buckethead fan I gotta say that solo has really on point.
Chris Broderick trolled us all my friend. But you killed that 8 finger tap!
4:46 Poland is by far one of the most underrated guitarists.
You seemed to have a hard time with that Ben Higgins fellas solo...
I know... fuck that guy!
Hahahahaha
BenHigginsOfficial I know a few girls who would!
Most people won't appreciate what went in to distilling these styles down to a few bars each, then putting this together.. Fantastic job man.
Well, this is without doubt the best YT video I've seen recently. Love it.
Seriously dude, practice the fucking lil wayne lick before playing it on video
GIT GUD
Angle of the neck is horrible
Brecht D'Haese ^this
hahahhahahafufufufufuckkkkhuhahahaha the best comment ever :V
Kotor Avatar!
Yes, delete this Insult to my god pls
This video deserves way more views, good job bro!
Awesome that you just did this old-school style. All technique (and some sound effects) no overwhelming reliance on whammy bars... no locking nut, just straight-forward playing. I think to many "players" get caught up in the 'trendy" stuff rather than the actual music itself. For example: How many "electric" guitar players could you hand a heavily strung acoustic too... without them sounding like they can't play at all. There is so much that goes beyond the scope of soloing that I think many of todays youngsters are missing out on. Music theory, for one.... acoustic playing and fingerstyle.... playing without effects... just hardcore basics.
Excellent job of capturing the personality of each player on this! My hat goes off to you Sir.
Absolutely fantastic!
The endurance, concentration and skill level to pull that off is amazing.
I’ve not heard of quite a few, but I’ll be sure to check them out now.
Superb virtuosity .
Inspiring.
How many Millenniums have you been playing for?
Just brilliant, never gets old! This man should have at least 1million subs. Just crazy!! 🤯
Ben has to be one of the best players on the planet at this point
Lol 5:40 ben hits a wrong note and says fuck
Galaxy*
Yep
@@mikeyg8133 not sure that even happened tho
What did I just witness!?!?! That one was one of the most amazing displays of guitar prowess I have ever seen... absolutely incredible!! 87 thumbs down? Put down the crack pipe and step away from your computer, people... nice and easy now...
8. Ritchie Blackmore
10. Dave Murray
35. Janick Gers
Mi favourites.
Once again Ben.... FANTASTIC!! So much great material in here to learn and play.
15:19 the way it went from Criss Oliva to Kai Hansen and then ending with Michael Weikath was fucking beautiful!
Dave Murray is my favourite shredder, and you included him!
this, man, was one of the best youtube videos I've seen in my whole damn life.
Thanks Matheus!
You've gained a subscriber, this video is out of this planet! Like someone said, certainly you haven't enough recognition as you deserve for your playing. I definitely need to check out your other videos
This is just amazing Ben.., be proud of this brother. Keep those strings warm man 🤘⚡🔥⚡🤘
I love this. Some of the original shredders you've improved on your original version to capture them even more. Like the first Dimebag sounded Dimebaggy enough, but this one was like "oh damn, that's about 50% more dimebaggy" and that's just one example of many, truly fantastic work, 11/10
I just know that this is going to be amazing before I even watch it!
Also, please make a bassist, drummers, keyboardist compilation with other people and upload it to your channel! :D
Exceptional. Great work man, it's obvious the amount of work you put into this. Thanks.
Fantastic video, Ben! Loved every bit. I have a few guitarists I need to research thanks to this video. Quite a few I didn’t recognize but was Wowed by
Impressive! Very good!
Hi Miguel ✋
That Guthrie Govan solo... man you really deserve at least 100,000+ subscribers.
I love your playing! Incredible how you've managed to capture 101 styles seamlessly :D
That was incredible! The hidden level had me rolling! You are absolutely amazing!
Just when I think I'm getting the hang of shredding, this video punches me in the face.
Truly some of the best playing I've ever seen
Bro I’m so happy u added criss Olivia
Heavy Metal head one of my all time favorite guitarists
Patrick Randall mine too
This was fantastic. I'm trying my best to reach to your level where I can play whatever I want and this video made me believe hard consistent work plays out in the long run, so thank you man.
Totally stoked to have seen Quorthon and Ihsahn in the mix. This was a bad ass project, worth the year grind. Subscribed.
Finally Criss Oliva and Kiko!! Great job man.
A list better than Every rolling stone list ever. Only a good guitar player recognizes the value of these players curated in a such a nice way.
This is probably the greatest guitar video I've ever seen. Its hard to fathom putting something like this together and playing it as flawlessly as you did ; let alone how few views it has. You deserve alot more recognition.
Thanks man 👍👍🍩🍩
you are an UNREAL guitar player man. You captured so many different styles in one solo. amazing video
Thanks for being so inspiring and soul destroying in equal measure, all at the same time
That was bloody amazing. As incredible as your guitar skills are, the vast knowledge you have of all the upper crust players is mind boggling at your age. Think I knew near 90 of them and grew up with all these shredders. I do believe you very well may offer the best course, cause that was quite the testimonial
Thanks Craig 👍👍
Wow wow and more wow, an incredible piece and you can really hear each of the individual nuances and style references to each player, well the ones that I know of of course. Amazing piece of work
Well done! Masterful playing and emulation of other great shredders! 🎸
Ben all I can say is are you from this planet? That is some of the sickest shredding I have ever seen and being an old school old dude rocker, I have seen a lot. I have been following you for about a year and trying to get caught up on all your vids, and that was beyond phenomenal. Your hands must of felt like mush after that. Your skills do not do you justice Ben. From the guitarist that I knew in that list you nailed them perfectly. That was a jaw dropping experience. Thank you greatly Mr Higgins. That was a sight to be hold. :)
Thanks my friend!
Amazing guitarist.
Darn I'm old, so many that I don't know. Liked it . Thanks, God bless n rock on little brother.
I can't wait to see the blooper reel from this. Awesome stuff as usual Bennykins
it's all there: musicality, nice vibrato, expressive and flawless technique, real tone, and as if that weren't enough, even the methodical diligence to get into the mind of a whopping 101 guitarists ....that beats all the records. I have always found that working out how other people play and figure out why they sound the way they do, is even harder than just writing my own music. I remember Friedman saying the same thing.
Great video! So many great homages, and such a superhuman display of stamina and mental preparation. Thank you. On a personal note, I made more progress after watching your lesson illustrating that single-note-tremolo was the best place to start developing a "fast" right-hand technique than I had in 20 years of approaching speed incrementally from the bottom.
What an incredible undertaking. Ludicrously accurate. Amazing job Ben.
Thanks for sharing this. Very inspiring!
i love how he put Vito Bratta on this video. Good technique, well played and also a good video, man!
I don't believe what I just saw! That was incredible...Your amazing.
Respect for adding Ritchie Faulkner, Michael Amott and Quorthon! Didn't expect to hear those guys in here! Amazing job, you inspire me so much
This is really outstaning. So much work so in figuring out all the styles of those players, but....I know you liked it. Awesome.
not enough views for this masterpiece of a creation! man i can't even imagine the time it took for you to put this together!!!!
Thank you... a very long time!!
Honestly... This was Really REALLY Impressive.
You’re incredibly talented, omg. This is truly awesome!
This was both incredible and incredibly exhausting at the same time. Cheers, mate.
19:37, Im so happy Shawn has been remembered...Truly one of the greatest
I was watching the Holdsworth cover and started to type "What about Shawn Lane?" Guess you saved the best for last!
amazing!! Very impressive! You really touch the core of every player.
Vow!! This is amazing! Good job.
Can't believe I never saw this video before. I was watching and was like, "Where's Shawn Lane?", and then surprise!- #101. Thank you for including Alexi Laiho.
Pat V. H. yes i smiled when i saw that name too. cobhc 🙂 always a fan
Love the hidden level. A little suggestion: Marco Sfogli and Plini are some of the names you might use for your next video ;)
This video was my best teacher years ago, it helped me to learn tasteful riffs without any problem and have a big arsenal, thanks Ben! Now as a music teacher and 10 years playing guitar I'm so grateful!!!!
The background riffs and music are just as creative and really help tell you who the shredder is.
Truly amazing! What an endeavor! I copied most of those shredders my whole life and you did a fantastic job of conveying the essence and physical characteristics of each player. And you know so of many of them...
The work that you took to put that together coherently is a way better accomplishment than any hit song today.
Who is that drummer? He was really good too.
Thanks David, that's Jan Vincent-Velazco on drums
Mr .Ben this was THE most bad-ass guitar playing i've seen in my life , You have my respect :)
Did not expect Quorthon! This was a legendary vid man!! \m/
Absolutely badass - well written, demonstrative, and awesomely executed.
I just checked eBay: it has crashed from the massive influx of barely used guitars for sale...
I didn't mean to watch the whole thing, but there was no way I was turning this off... my mind got blown somewhere around the 12:27 mark.
The level of expertise and focus is unbelievable. Superb playing!
That was legendary, Ben!
You have become one of my favorite guitarists
What an awesome player! Hard to pick just one sweet lick but the transition between dave murray and dimebag gives me goosebumps for god sake!!!!
Thanks Daniel!
Great video man.You have incredible talent.Keep up the good work🤘🏻
This is genius. Your performance on this shows your skills so much.
good job !
btw Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman without whammy bar it's impossible lol
And dimebag
Do I play guitar? No...... But it’s very obvious that this is INSANELY awesome! The endurance is mind blowing alone! The precision is amazing!
Humbling yet inspiring at the same time. Absolutely phenomenal.
Amazing, you’re so good, so glad I found you on here, Truely brilliant 🤩
Fucking awesome bro, but, the Lil wayne was not shitty enough
Hidden level
