Hi Robin. I was looking for your Mexican flan recipe. I thought I had written out in my homemade cookbook wasn't there. I found your recipe on your channel. I haven't realized I've been watching you for almost 10 years. Congratulations and thank you for sharing all your delicious recipes and tips on cooking. Continued success.
Robin, it’s 1:30 on a Wednesday morning here in Kamakura, Japan, and I just ran downstairs to my freezer to take and thaw out lamb shanks! I’ll try this recipe later this morning! Thanks much! 👍🏾🤤👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you Rock Robbin for the video on how to cook lamb shanks..... I know this was the first video in using the Instant Cooker. I do also like more room while cooking. The Lamb Shanks looked great after cooking them.
@@RockinRobinCooks Fajitas, spice mix, quesadillas, banana bread, etc. I’ve been subscribed to your channel for 2 or three years. Love your recipes. Thanks for sharing!
Try looking at "Pressure Luck" on You tube. Robin was great in this one as always....Cheers to you both...Doing some shanks right now....Cider braised.....Cheers Jeff
This is a fabulous recipe from Robin, and one I use almost weekly....And I do love Robin, how could you not....shes a very lovely lady ♥♥♥.....her husband is a lucky man 🤓....I digress 😃.....here in NZ, lamb cuts are plentiful, and this recipe suits them all.....my only slight digress, and its purely personal choice, is at the start when sauteing your lamb cuts.....i do add olive oil, but i also add 3 tbsp of garlic butter mixed in with the olive oil, before adding your lamb cut....and there is nothing better than licking the spoon after adding the butter 😋 mmmmmm....good luck with the recipe....its a real beauty from Robin......oh, and warm hugs and xxxxxs Robin ♥♥♥♥♥
Wow, no where else did I see what to do with the saute' function with the slow cooker. I'm pretty new to this and this was great to know that you can sear your meat and fry your vege without heating up the fry pan. Cheers.
Just keep in mind that depending on the size of your pot and how much meat you plan to sear, it can be a little cramped. But it is nice to not dirty too many pans!
Can't wait! My boyfriend eats a halal diet, so this is one meat we can pick up at Costco! Never have used an IP, one at my moms house collecting dust, going to swipe it soon!
We eat a lot of Lamb here in Australia and I don't really understand the resistance some people in the USA and Canada have to it. I cook a similar dish to yours in the oven but may give it a go in the pressure cooker/multicooker. Thank you.
@@RockinRobinCooks Is it the way it's butchered? Are the animals not neutered young? We don't notice there being any gamey taste. Mostly it's eaten at around 6-8 months old and all the males are neutered as early as practicable. As it is with entire males in pigs having the boar taint they too are neutered. I am sensitive to the boar taint. Thank you.
@Rocking Robin Cooks. There are 3 heat settings for Saute. You had it on Normal, the middle one. It is usually best for Saute of onions and spices, etc. For meat searing More is better. There are slightly different ways of changing between them depending on the model of IP. Your info booklet that came with your IP will tell you how.
Rockin Robin Cooks I did 38 mins and it wasn’t quite tender, the shanks I used were kind of big which makes me wonder if it was actually a lamb. The recipe was great, the taste was incredible and that recipe is a keeper. Thanks.
Hi RR. I made a shank just now. The taste and odor were wonderful but the texture was like beef kidney, but not inedible. Did I over or under cook the shank?
That's exactly right Beverlee. Use your electric skillet to sear the shanks and then saute the onion, celery, and carrots, garlic too. Then toss everything into your slow cooker.
Hi Byron, this lamb shank was awesome! I really loved how fast it cooked up in the instant pot. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for my vegetarian lasagna! Have a great day!

Rockin Robin Cooks .....pot roast!!!! I’ve even made cheesecake in it....

i agree with you 100%!..... i always sear everything in a big frypan on the stove, as you say more control, and more room.. great video - thanks..

This looks fantastic, and I can concur that you absolutely can do this in an oven.
Always a pleasure to see you cook Robin.

Perfect! Definitely get a hold of your mom's Instant pot. You will love it once you get used to using it. Cooks food fast and delicious!
Oh wow those lamb shanks look fantastic 😍 I don’t own a instant pot but I will get one soon.

Nice to hear from you in Australia! I think some people object to the gamey taste that you sometimes get from Lamb. The dish I made tasted amazing!

Thank you for sharing! There’s not a day that goes by that we can’t learn something from someone!
Is 38 minutes necessary for 2 lamb shanks? Should I reduce the time? The recipe looks amazing.
You could reduce the time. This was falling off the bone! Try 20 minutes and see how that goes.
Rockin Robin Cooks I did 38 mins and it wasn’t quite tender, the shanks I used were kind of big which makes me wonder if it was actually a lamb. The recipe was great, the taste was incredible and that recipe is a keeper. Thanks.
I will try it tonight thanks.
How did it turn out for you?
Rockin Robin Cooks it was very good and they want more food the best I will do it again every Friday night. Thanks for all your help.
I made some last night in my ninja and boy those wer the best shanks ever!!!!!
Awesome Joel!

Looks Yummy. I'm not a fan of the Instant Pot, but I like the recipe.
I am curious as to why you don't care for the instant pot. This recipe can be cooked in the oven, on the stove or a slow cooker as well.
What size instant pot are you using here? Lamb looks yummy!
Robin they look heavenly..could I use my crockpot and sear in my electric skillet then transfer to my crockpot..
That's exactly right Beverlee. Use your electric skillet to sear the shanks and then saute the onion, celery, and carrots, garlic too. Then toss everything into your slow cooker.
Ridiculous delicious 😘
It really is Julia! Thanks for watching!
Mushroom broth ok since I don't eat beef?
Yes! Even veggie broth will work.
What a beautiful lamb shank, and you look so cute in pink, Robin. What did you enjoy about making lamb?

I’m the one person that doesn’t like eating Lamb, and I’ve been to many family gathering, and I’m a chef and I still can’t stomach it.
You look so familiar 🧐 Were you in the Air Force, by chance?

Gamey?? Lamb? Gee mate, thats a low blow.....Australians love their lamb, sure you haven't been buying mutton ???
