I’ve done shanks in the slow cooker for years! For me it’s a way better flavour without the tomatoes they just over power everything . I bake large sweet potato 200c for 2 hours than cut in half with butter and cinnamon sugar and some green beans!
Great concise explanation of what looks like a fabulous dish. I’m off to the local butchers for lamb shanks so I can try this recipe out. Greetings from England.🇬🇧🇬🇧
I have made it 5 times last winter it was absolutely awesome. All my family and friends loved it! Thank you! Cooking the first for this year this evening...as it is getting cooler here now !
Absolutely delicious, l added sweet potato & followed the suggested format including using a tea towel to absorb the condensation. The meat was so incredibly tasty & it fell off the bone. I thoroughly enjoyed the commentary on the video & the helpful hints. A successful & new family favourite. 👍😀
Thanks to this video I now have decided to make your lamb shank recipe for my Christmas dinner. In fact I quite like your side parings as well. Thank you
Yeah, I thought the flour was supposed to thicken the sauce, not a towel. Seemed dangerous to me when she said it. So sorry that happened to you! How awful!
I find that when cooking potatoes, make the boiling water quite salty. That way, when mashed, they are seasoned perfectly. We love Yukon gold - served piping hot, no butter is really needed!
Hi there, thanks for the informative recipe. Since I am following the ketogenic diet, I was wondering if I could leave the flour out or substitute it for something else ?
Luke Clarke I’m wondering why you used red wine vinegar ? She used red wine.... not vinegar. They should have been fabulous. Her recipe is so wonderful !!
Love lamb shanks meals. I like to mash my potatoes up with salt, black pepper, warm milk, butter and chopped green onions. Ok Lamb shanks it is for dinner tomorrow.
Tomato juice or..... I like to mix apple cider vinegar, honey mustard, rich BBQ sauce, whistler sauce & mint sauce all to taste test just fiddle around with measurements as you go
Hi!! Thank you for the wonderful recipe. I marinated the lamb shanks for a few minutes with ginger garlic paste ,cumin powder, turmeric and hot red chilli powder to suit our Indian taste buds. The mashed potatoes went very well with the thick soup cum curry, Thank you for making the video so delectable.
Nope. Me too. The problem with these ‘new age’ cooks is they think they have to ‘invent’ a new way of doing things which is really just the old way’. But these have been the old ways of our ancestors. So, take no notice, I know it i’s not original, but at least they are trying. So maybe, the past isn’t lost after all lol
As delicious as it seems, I would like it if you would state everything that you are actually putting into the pan just for an actual visual state in the process It would make it a bit more easier, besides having to go back and listen to what you put in there when you cut it or actually adding.
That lady in the back is a distraction to a good video that offers lot of good information. If she is part of the business, too bad she can't keep her butt out of view.
You explain very clearly what you are doing and why. Very helpful to new cooks ,but nice reminders of some concepts for more experienced chefs.
Hi it looks lovely. Did you leave the slow cooker on low for me the 6 hours
Thanks Alan
Hello I like your way of cooking I always cook from woman's weekly cookbooks and every time is perfect ❤

I’m cooking it right now, done twice before and it’s just delicious

What temperature on slow cooker, high or low?

Not only is her recipe beautiful and delicious, but she seems like a beautiful person also. Love this video
Love a good lamb shank. I have one every day.

Looks delish which stock was used please
Wholesome food, and a wholesome looking lady
weird comment
@@JG-dd8jy only if you are weird yourself
@@justnoted2995 Her looks have nothing to do with her cooking creepy
@@JG-dd8jy you see creepy in wholesome comments... you lost your innocence mr. creepy
@@justnoted2995 commenting on her looks is inappropriate on a cooking channel. Is she as wholesome as a lamb shank Dr Lecter?
Nice! Thanks for sharin’ I ate this lamb at the Costwolds! And I loved it!
Thanks for the tea towel tip made my lid shatter from getting to hot
Yeah, I thought the flour was supposed to thicken the sauce, not a towel. Seemed dangerous to me when she said it. So sorry that happened to you! How awful!
I loved, I will try today
I made this it was delicious thank you so much for sharing
R u an Aussie ? Thank you so much This was beyond incredible . Ill be making it next week when my crock pot is delivered
Yes, she is. (from fellow Aussie). 😊
Yep. Besides the accent, you can tell from the amount of redundancy she uses unknowingly.

Darlene Rothenay no butter on mashed potatoes? Heresy! LOL
Have this on now, can't wait to taste it.
Excellent video ! Thanks
I can't wait to try this recipe 😋
Nice job they looked amazing
Yep....doing that exact recipe today...thank you for the post.👏👍
A bowl of salt next to chopping onions works like a dream. I haven't cried in years lol
Thank you. I love lamb shanks. Will make this soon.
thank you for all your great tips !
Looks yummy 😋 I have to make it.
Can I do this with a pot roast piece of chef beef or shin beef?
Hi thanks for this wonderful video!! Is there a list of ingredients? Thank you
I really love it and I will do my best to cook it the same way. Wish me good luck 😉
Elrhalia harouchi good luck I’m trying this tomorrow...
Wow Lovely cooking because Recipe always Matters
Waiter: Excuse me sir, would you like some freshly ground pepper?
Me: No thanks I'll wait for the stale.
What about a summer favourite? Im literally cooking this in the heart of summer during 42 degree days ☹
Trying this tomorrow 👌🏽
Yummy
Do we cook it for 6 hours on low or high?
6 hrs is too much boo trust me, 1hr should be enough.
Looks very tasty getting back into cooking 🥘. 😊
Hi there, thanks for the informative recipe. Since I am following the ketogenic diet, I was wondering if I could leave the flour out or substitute it for something else ?
Try plaintain flour
Tapioca flour works well
You can leave out the flour, just coat the shanks with salt and pepper and brown them.
Beautiful receipe, is there anything different instead of the wine please?
Just tomato 🍅 paste and can of tomato extra that's what I use minus the wine.
@@miisepaisamaela Thank you 🙂
Never made them from scratch but today is the day, hope they turn out alright
Not bad I used red wine vinegar about a cup, the misso liked them but I didn’t like the vinegar taste apart from that yumo.
Luke Clarke
I’m wondering why you used red wine vinegar ? She used red wine.... not vinegar. They should have been fabulous. Her recipe is so wonderful !!
Pmwalls46 I used red wine vinegar as a mistake lol. But yes still very tasty but like I said I wasn’t a huge fan on the vinegar taste.
Luke Clarke
Oooh !! Oops !! Then I guess you’ll REALLY love them next time !! 🤣👍
Pmwalls46 yet to make them again,I don’t often make it to the kitchen the bbq on the other hand.
Delicious 😊
Yummy,my next dinner 👍❤️
Nice Shanks...nice Australian Accent as well.

Yummy Yummy thank you👍
what can u put other than wine?
I always use balsamic vinegar because I cannot have wine
6 hrs high or low plz?
Rola Eadeh 6hrs low... See this link for the method ☺️ www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.womensweeklyfood.com.au/amp/recipes/slow-cooker-lamb-shanks-15596
Nic Ywailey Thanks for this, I couldn’t find the recipe.
I'm glad you asked! Got to that stage and panicked!
Very nice Vedeo 👍🙏🛎🌹😋😋😋
Rather than having mashed potatoes, when is a good time to throw in some chopped potatoes into the slow cooker?
Thank you for the tips i always get tears whenever i. Chop onions
Red Wine alternative please?
You can leave out the red wine. Beef broth is fine.
Bourbon
How many hours?
What can be used in place of the wine?
Tomato juice or..... I like to mix apple cider vinegar, honey mustard, rich BBQ sauce, whistler sauce & mint sauce all to taste test just fiddle around with measurements as you go
Just beef broth will do
What a lovely lady
How much cook time?
If u watch the video, she said 6 hours
Sweet or dry wine?

Make your own stock.
What can be used instead of wine please?
Graeme Pae alcohol free wine should work, or skip that step and a dash or extra stock if you need the liquid. Works for other dishes at least
Just leave out the wine, beef broth will do
Bourbon..
Vodka
Was I the only one that freaked when she wiped away all the flavor instead of deglazing the pan?
Omg me too. Usually I would deglaze the pan for maximum flavors to the sauce.
Absolutely, couldn’t believe it !! And TWO cans of tomatoes, no thanks, just some tomato paste , stock and for me, a drop port !

Does it matter what you think 🤯🥴
She has no idea, another hacker who thinks they can cook
What can you use if you don't want wine?
Cherylee Erasmus
I would say a little extra stock. You can omit the wine... the result will just be a little different flavor but still delicious 😋
@@Pmwalls46 thank you so much 😁
Why did you use beef stock?
Have this bubbling away right now, added some celery...
What if I don’t have wine
wowwwwwwwwwwww
Lovely recipe. Thanks for sharing but lamb could have done better with a bit more seasoning .
Gordon Ramsey said to chop vegetables thicker because they're cooking for so long
Never wipe off the fond, add wine and mix it into the sauce

I’m not having a problem, just some more information
as soon as she wiped away the lamb juices from the pan before cooking the veggies i switched it off.. what kind of chef does that!
did anyone else think "um...what?" when she poured stock from carton into measuring jug then into the pan? um... dishes much!
I just about spat out my drink when she threw away the fond
same
Another trick not to cry a teaspoon on the board!
Beaut
I was underwhelmed after making this. Lamb had lost its flavour as it was far to liquid.
Did you cover the crock pot lid like she suggested? Mine did not come out with too much liquid. Very goodand tender.
If I don't put tomatoes does it matter
You make it seem like a 4 month project.... Come On!!!!
I nearly fell asleep watching this shit 😂
No cream or butter just heavy Japanese mayonnaise
Stopping watching when she got rid of the flavoursome oil from shanks
That lady in the back is a distraction to a good video that offers lot of good information. If she is part of the business, too bad she can't keep her butt out of view.
alan Fujimori you have a problem if the womans butt distracted you get some THERAPY for attention deficit.
Did not wrap my lid with tea towel, came out incredibly watery :(
You can reduce the sauce by transferring it to a pan and simmer it until the sauce thickens
she threw away the fond lol!
...boss- everything is good- but wash your hands after touching fresh meat
...thank you so much boss 🌹-- I'll definitely try this next time boss.. 🙏-tks
😎 over cooked MAM
Way TOOOO SLOW..... Come on ..... Speed it up!!!!!
