You are an amazing artist, don’t put yourself down, your sculpts of those faces are not that far off, we are always our own worst critics, great job like always!
Oh you would NOT believe how proud I was of the sculpts back then, but now with the scan, which is essentially a digital reference, all the flaws became so obvious 😆
the scan obviously will be more true to your brother's likeness but i really like your initial sculpt and prefer it's paint job too. This tool is a great time saver but please don't become reliant on it, your modeling skills keep getting better and better. You're an excellent and inventive artist.
I am hoping it will help me recognize the various shapes in 3D space better compared to just reference images, and yes, the older paint job is looking better! I'll have to return to my notes to figure out what went wrong haha
Oh thank you so much, I am glad you enjoyed watching it! It's actually my first time travelling out for a video, so I also enjoyed the process thoroughly.
YEAH I was blown away with the accuracy and how easy it was to use the scanner. I was VERY proud of my sculpts until I revisited them for this project hahaha
I know right lol but I doubt they have access to the celeb's faces. Scarlett Johansson talked about how creepy realistic Hot Toys figures are and when asked if they 3D scanned her face, she said that's the crazy part because they sculpted everything themselves. Or at least for Black Widow's.
Funny you mentioned it, I worked in film industry and majority of my time were cleaning up the scanned data for VFX companies. And I would say even if hot toys get access to any scanned data we use, it's much easier for them to just sculpt a new one. Actor's time are pricey that it's impossible to ask them stand still for us to scan them with handheld scanner, so we only got one shot to get it right which almost never happened. Therefore, the scanned data usually really crappy. How bad they are? We were a team with 10+ artists and we have to spend at least a month to clean up the scan that in the end we basically resculpt the entire model and scanned data as reference. If you want this tool to be a game changer, pay more to the actors.
@@哈比人-y1g That's amazing. Did yall also take reference photos yourselves or had to find them online, considering how little time the actors were there for.
@@zedabyu Mostly online like any other artists. Like when I was working on Benedict’s face for DS2, I basically resculpt his entire face cause they insist him scanning with his fake beard on, so I screen grab almost every shot from Sherlock to reconstruct his face like 10G of pure references.
This is so sweet! You’re such a good brother for that gift! That’s so cool! And now you can make gifts for other people and make figures of yourself haha 😆
Wow great work 👍🏼. I have a question. Can you scan from a tv screen? For example scanning a video game character using photo mode , i use lg oled tv, and unlike led screens when you take a picture of the oled screen it look so clean, no bad effects at all, so do you think the scanning will work from an oled screen?
No probably not. Scanner recieves data from light bounced back from the object. You will get back a flat TV scan if you do that lol. What you want is Photogrammetry that uses photos to form 3D models.
That really looks awesome! One question, could you make a tutorial on using the wrapper3D program and copy the shapes? That would really help a lot :) Keep it up!
Very helpful video, best I've seen so far for the scanner, what program are you using to do the hair and change eyes, ? Can't be revostudio? Cause I can't do anything in revostudio but mesh, how are you editing the scan after you scan it ?
I remember my sister in-law wanted this awhile back for her and my brother went to someone who did this I think they spend about $300 for this seen it also wanted joints on both of them. Which I think it is a far price
Your brother, now it makes sense, thought there was a glitch in the matrix . If I told my sort of sister in law to shut her mouth I wouldn't have any teeth. Wish I knew who my first subscriber is/was I could write them a letter of apology. There has got to be some tricks to make the scans need less work to be ready. Powder face or something. I was wondering where your from, didn't like to ask. Some years ago a dressmaker who used scanning of clients commissioned me to construct a motorized turntable for adults of almost any size . About a meter in diameter had a cork top and was really heavy, the chain drive wasn't exactly the smoothest experience.
Haha! I think you can actually find them under your subscription list and filter by subscription date. Aw, I am sure they won't mind your absence. Yeah, powdering the hair will help the scanner capture the shapes but I already have a sculpt of it so I skipped it. I think now Amazon sells that kind of turntable for humans, but wow, didn't know you are an engineer too.

congrats on the sponsor you definitely deserve it, some of the best figure videos out there
Thank you thank you 🙏

Congratulations on the sponsorship! That is awesome!
This is so freaking cool!!! Your sculptures are damn good too though 😍👍

Stop being so hard on yourself. Your sculpture (especially at that size), is phenomenal and mind blowing.
Zedabyu, you are Waaaaayyy too hard on your sculpting skills, you are very good mate, and I hope having the scanner won't cause you to slack off! :)
HEH, I mean, it only works with people I can gain access to... so I wouldn't be able to slack off as much as I want to
@@zedabyu Haha true! I suppose Scarlett Johansson might object to you shoving a scanner in her face.
It looks amazing!!
congrats on the sponsor. i am a big fan of your work. can't wait to watch you grow
Thank you for sticking with my journey!
Wonderful video! If i were in the same industry as you, I would totally be sold and going for the product already. Amazing sponsor you got hereee!
Hehe, I actually already backed the kickstarter but decided to try my luck emailing them for a sponsorship, and it worked!
Thank you for the video, it looks so cool 😍
What an amazing piece of technology 👏
YES ANOTHER VIDEO
1st subscriber appreciation finally
This is like a cheat code in 1/6 figure productions. I wonder if Hot Toys already use this kind of technology.

This is so crazy cool, hope to see many upcoming projects with this new toy 😜✌️
HA! I just hope you won't get tired of seeing it 😜
Congrats on the sponsor well deserved. Great video as always!
Thank you!!

HAHA! I could not afford anything else.
Yeah, only if I can gain access to their faces physically 😆 Still gotta sculpt celebs the hard way
So excited for the sponsor to finally enter the Zedabyu cinematic universe.
Haha yes, together with all the off-brand celeb lookalikes cosplaying as superheroes.
What did you use for sculpturing.
zbrush
The second I saw him I was like "they look like they could be brothers" lmfao

Congrats on your sponsorship!!!
🎉
Awesome seeing you get a sponsor! your gonna hit 100,000 subs in no time!

Haha I wouldn't hold my breath though
This would be an awesome service to pay for having a model head sculpted and painted.. I’d pay for that for a figure!

Hey, can i pay you to scan and do a 1/6 head print too? from Singapore too!

The scan is not 100% better than your. Sure it has a higher likeness but 100% is too high dude
Im gonna be brutally honest. I much prefer the previous sculpt to the scanned one 🫣
Either way it's still sounds like a compliment to me 😜
