What is: Eejanaika - The World's Largest 4D Roller Coaster
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 июл 2020
- Eejanaika (ええじゃないか) is a steel roller coaster, located at Fuji-Q Highland in Yamanashi, Japan. The ride is the world's largest 4D coaster which essentially means that guests rotate forwards and backwards in their seats independently of the track as they navigate the course. But not only that, at face value Eejanaika is an extremely large scale ride too. In this video, we explore the history of the ride, and explain the unique method used to rotate guests.

Fujiyama opened in 1996, not 1966 as said in the video. Though, Giant Coaster opened in 1966!
I got to ride it in January. It is absolutely insane.
I will say, the left side of the train is significantly more violent than the right.
I am scared to go on x2
I'm extremely jealous and will remember this information for when I eventually go! ;)
Same on X2. That's just physics, outside seat will always be rougher
@@hellacia8151 No, I mean like both inside and outside seat on the left side of the train is rougher than the right side for some reason
I got to experience X before it was renovated into X2. :D But X2 is 1,000x more insane than X!
Legend says the ride ops are still chanting "Eejanaika" to this day
I went to today and I can confirm they are still chanting
I chickened out of Eejanaika because I really thought it was free-spinning and I didn't wanna get sick 😭
That's a shame but totally understandable!
@@coasterbot I know! I just can't wait to come back there and finally ride it. 😄
When i got off i was like. Damn that was too much. Now i cant stop thinking about it. I wanna retry
Such an incredible ride! X(2) has been one of my favorite rides since it opened but Eejanaika blew it out of the water when I rode it this past January! The ride is smoother and not a jolt-y, the awkward breaking of X(2) is resolved by rotating the seats to a lie position, and the full-full element is one of the most disorienting things I have ever experienced on a ride- the kind where all you can do is laugh because it’s so insane. I can’t wait to go back.
Also, random, but Fuji-Q has excellent food options. Make sure you get the pumpkin Hoto noodles from Kaihotoshingenyakata, the restaurant with wooden deck in front of Cool Jaappan. It’s a regional dish and unexpectedly one of the best things I ate in Japan.
Having ridden X2 and LOVING it, I can't even imagine what this is like. Unfortunately, I don't know when I might get down to Japan, definitely not anytime soon, considering the current events.
It's INSANE!!!
Like I can't even explain how amazing a coaster it is. I honestly don't believe any rollercoaster will take this number 1 spot for a long time if ever.
That zero G roll.... Jesus...
NGL... it took a piece of my soul!
No wonder why Japan has the greatest coasters.
It's a really intense ride more intense that X2
I ride x2 and it's hard to imagine something more out of this world .
pika productions XD it looks faster and more intense.
Is it smoother?
@@RhynoBytes857 from riding it, much smoother. Also the seat rotations are smooth as well
x2 more instense tho
The rundown of the elements, detailing the rotations with each track detail, was especially well done.
Thanks :)
I knew it would be nuts when one of the passengers before me had passed out. He was right to do so. Easily the most intense ride of my life. Loved it.
Ooof that's crazy!
Bloody awesome is what it is! It’s in my top 5, but after riding Kärnan today, that’s my new Number one! 😎
wassup Luke!
Mulin Huan Hi Dr. Hershey! 😁 Greetings from Germany!
It really looks it! Glad you enjoyed Kärnan, now that's an absolute machine!
I love Kärnan and its super intense, but Ejenaika has to be the most intense coaster out there
Eejanaika translate to "Ain't it great?"
Yea it is great.
i rided Eejanaika in Japan and i survived with an empty stomach. I love the top, you were facing down from the highest while backwards.
currently my dad is planning a summer trip to japan to visit some places we didnt get to see. will go sometime this decade
Sounds awesome!
Preferably when COVID-19 is gone, right?
@@AlexandreSantos-yv2tj
yep
Eejankia is one of my favorite coaster and don't for get it's wonderful qeue music 🎵eejankia eejankia eejankia🎵
It's great that you use meters and feet for measurements because in other videos from other channels, having to do the conversion isn't great.
No worries, we try our best to make videos that everyone can watch :)
Love the videos coaster bot!!
Thank you, that means a lot :)
Thanks for this detailed intro. Rode this last month and went into it completely unaware how ground breaking it was. Now I am amazed I survived it!
Eejanaika is one of the best rides I have ever been on along with Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point! Great video :D
It really does look awesome, thanks! :)
I bloody love Eejanaika. Takabisha was fun but definitely Gerst-ache inducing. I visited in 2017 when Dodonpa was closed for its reno so didn't get the chance to try that. I really want to get back to Japan and Fuji-Q again in the future.
Shame Dodonpa was closed but at least you found a new coaster to love! :)
Amazing video! I have no clue how you make these so professional!
Thank you! The answer is time - we spend a lot of time at each stage of the video creation process refining everything. It means a lot that our hard work comes across well :)
Yay new video!
I came for the Eejanaika soundtrack lol.
Would love to see a video explaining why roller coasters are so expensive in the future! Great video as always
years of development, testing, paying designers to work on it for years or how ever long it takes, construction materials and people to actually build it etc i would imagine building a record breaking coaster to be expensive as hell !
I would love to ride X2 but I am too poor to travel to America
Same
Rofl Some people just don’t have the time to do it. They might be caught up with work or something
i live in Arizona (next to California) so i've actually ridden X2, it's incredible! maybe not as much as "Ejanaika" but still one hell of a ride!
@@ballbag almost 2.000 Dollars for the flight to Japan and back excluding any other costs...it's super expensive 🙈
This might be the greatest roller coaster ever made never seen anything like it
Keep up the great work *Harry. we love you and your content so much!! ( edited now much better lol)
Thanks, that means a lot! Not sure where you got the name Stu from, I'm called Harry ha ha :)
@@coasterbot hahaha I used to follow a gaming channel focused on COD that did really high quality analysis similar to yours but obviously game related. His channel was called XboxAhoy he's British as well. I'm sorry Harry I meant that as no insult to you. Point being you have produce top quality content for years and I just wanted to thank you person ally. Thanks and cheers HARRY 😄😄
When I was to try this for the first time in my life, I thought that this was suicide or not.
But after i tried, i could feel that what I had previously thought is to be extremely fun.
X2 is a total trip to ride. You don't know if you're coming or going, it's great. So a bigger, taller, longer, faster, version is something I'd very much live to ride. Next time I'm in Japan! (+ the bonus of the fastest launch coaster in the same park... heaven :)
They play music with the ride's name because the ride's name is derived from that song, which was from a movement in the 1860s. The ride's name also can translate as "Who cares?" and "Why not?"
WOW , that is one awsome looking coaster 🤩🤩🧱👍🏼
One of my top 5 coasters!
Awesome to hear!
I rode this years ago. Best coaster I have ever been on. FujiQ is a great theme park.
It looks awesome for sure!
The best rollercoaster I've been on! It's insane hahaha
I can tell you what Eejanaika is, #1 on my bucketlist
And soon to be your #1 rollercoaster
It's high up on my bucketlist too!
This thing looks so insane . Don't know if I could be brave enough to ride it :)
I'm sure you are brave enough! ;)
I can. I've ridden it's American cousin 2 hours from my house, and it's insane as well.
5:49 Relates to Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Big One
6:00 The Same Speed on Maxx Force at Six Flags Great America
That looks like soooooo much fun!
It really does!
I love this series! Keep it up?
There's many more to come, don't worry!
I'm not afraid of roller coasters anymore, I can go over 60m high or at 100kmh, but this thing, Eejanaika, it scares me
It will take you straight to hell, but I guaranty you'll be begging for more. 😁
i rode this during the winter and at night, damn my feet never felt so cold in my life
That sounds awesome :)
it was super intense, just experienced it yesterday. until now i still get anxious just by thinking about it
That's awesome, it looks like a fantastic coaster :)
Omg that looks so awesome i would love to go on it
Me too!
Audio is 👌
Thanks!
Rode yesterday. Still recovering… Scary AF
When I visited Magic Mountain X2 was closed for maintenance. I was so angry that day.
Since then I was lucky enough to ride my first 4D coaster in China (Dinoconda). It's a one of a kind experience even for enthusiasts and I absolutely love that ride. Unfortunately I heard that both X2 and Eijanaika are considerably more rough and not as pleasant to ride.
My favorite rollercoaster!
I honestly have nothing but positive things to say about this ride and just don't understand why there are not more of these ride. Yes they are expensive but God are they popular!
Awesome to hear!
we need more in the world. One at CP would be pretty cool, if they cleared up a bit of land I could see them installing one.
Eejanaika Eejanaika (clap clap clap clap)!
1:20 1966?
Must’ve meant 96
Unfortunately due to procrastination and things taking a long time, my submission for the 50k video missed the deadline. It’s a short compilation of coasters and effects in VHS quality.
If you've got it ready now send it over! :)
COASTER BOT it’s been sent.
That rack and pinion to control the seats is such a better idea...... I wonder how the ride would feel if they were free spinning. Each ride would be unique!
Definitely!
I think the new project for 2022 is going to be an RMC Hybrid
That'd be awesome!
I'd absolutely love to ride that
TY for also saying the Numbers in metric!
No problem!
Can I ask where you found the information of the stats for the elements on the ride?
This website is awesome for ride statistics: rcdb.com/3254.htm
Great video. Is Dinoconda in China a clone of this, or does it have a smaller layout?
technoandrew dinoconda is a slightly smaller scale with different rotations, but i’m not entirely sure if the layout has any differences
Yeah as SmileBullet said, I think the layout is generally the same but smaller. However the rotations are a little different :)
The GOAT
Damn this looks insane! I hope i dont chicken out when i see this thing
Edit: Should i take a sickness tablet before i go on it? I kinda get sick easily
If you know that might help and is safe to take then sure! It's a ride that's definitely worth riding :)
Given this parks seemingly good relationship with S&S, I'm really hoping their new coaster is a massive Axis coaster!
That would be very cool!
Looks like a clone of X2 from magic mountain six flags
Edit - oh I should hav just watched the rest of the video
Could you make a video about something in Finland? Maybe Taiga? There’s not that many interesting coasters here but it would be nice to see something like that!
We might cover Taiga one day, we've had a lot of requests for it :)
That is the scariest coaster I've ever seen!
You said that it has 2 trains, but in the video you see a red, blue and yellow one. Is it a mistake in the video or did one of the trains brake?
The ride can only operate two trains at any one point in time. Sometimes parks have an additional train which can undergo maintenance while the others are in use :)
@@coasterbot ahhhhhh that makes sense ;)
oh this came out today
Great video and I’m sure an even more scarring ride experience than mine on X2 lol 🙈 Who shot this great footage??
Thanks! You can find links to all of the footage on the videos description :)
COASTER BOT that’s how I thought you normally did it, however I didn’t see any for this particular video. The only conclusion I could come to was Sammy edited his own footage unless I’m completely missing something lol
Can You do What is Vampire and what is Dragon's fury at chessington?
I rode this before X2. I remember Eejanaika being a more intense ride.
good job! can you do What is: Formule X (Drievliet, Netherlands) next please?
I'll note that down, thanks for the suggestion :)
@@coasterbot its no problem! keep up the good work!
Got 3 rides on Eejanaika last year and it a smooth ride. X2 is rough and painful by comparison.
X2 is right but its tolerable the ride right next to it by comparison. .
@@funny.gon-12 fuck viper
Ride X2 in the front or back only. Preferably inside seats. There's basically no other good seats.
COASTER BOT could u do translation for the ft tooo, since idk what 100ft is in metres
7:00 I’ve heard people argue that Eejanaika’s inversions count because it’s the extra rails on the track the turn the cars, unlike a 4D free spin, so the inversions are track based
But still... No
Wow that's an interesting argument! I can't say I agree though :)
Can you do What is Red Force at port adventura?
I'll note that down, thanks for the suggestion :)
I Absolutley love Rollercoaster but this is terrifying!
It looks terrifying!
So this thing travels through time as well as the 3 physical dimensions?
Exactly ;)
Hey coasterbot, can you make a video about how Spinning coasters work
I'll note that down, thanks for the suggestion :)
You said 1966 at 1:21. According to RCDB, Fujiyama opened in 1996.
It's also 1996 in the subtitles. Must just be an honest mistake. It would be insane if FujiQ had a megacoaster in '66
Do dodonpa sounds absolutely insane. I'd love to ride it someday. Also, as an aside, I could have sworn I remember it being called Do dodonpa, not just dodonpa, years before its revamp, back when it still had a top hat? Anybody else remember this? Feels very Mandela effect.
I think it was always Dodonpa with the top-hat, maybe I'm wrong though? It does sound insane, I hope we both get to ride it one day!
Lets go to japan!
I went on it yesterday and it was the best/ worst roller coaster I’ve been on. I like how it rotates and I went on it at night so I could see the stars, I don’t like how it’s so quick and it’s a bit too intense for me.
5:12-5:16 🤣🤣🤣🤣
XD
The legs!!
You sound even more like you have a cold than usual
I think that's just my normal voice sadly ha ha
I think the new coaster will be a free spinning version of a Mack Xtreme spinner, or a upscaled raptor
Lol raptors are cheap and they can’t go up to over 200ft. Maybe Trex? Who knows
Either of those sound great!
I have ridden X2 and it is an awesome ride but Eejanakia is something else.
The ride doesn't rotate independently of the track, actually. It has two sets of rails, one of which controls the rotation of the cars.
The goat💘💪🏿💘💪🏿🔥👍
I think it will break another world record
Hopefully!
what would make this ride more intense would be ONLY hip restraints
That would be crazy!
So X2 has a longer drop but how?
You need to make a video on cannibal at lagoon
Great suggestion :)
They guy at 5:12 in the front row had me dead 💀
I really need to ask someone who knows coasters this. My son is only 5 but is 50" tall and hefty. He wants to ride coasters and is technically tall enough but is it safe for him?
If he's tall enough he sound be safe to ride them! But it's probably worth checking with the theme park you're going to as they might be able to give you more information :)
Looks like an exact replica of x2 at six flags magic mountain
It's very similar :)
Compare to some of the channel's first video, new video are pretty long but detail
Hopefully you enjoy the longer and more detailed videos :)
I'm pretty sure the service life of Eejanaika will be longer than X2. X2 still has a boatload of problems and can still be very unreliable (on my last visit it couldn't even open on time with the park)
Totally, you'd expect it to be :)
4:51 ♩♪♫♬ EEJANAIKA!!! EEJANAIKAAAAAH!!!♬♫♪♩
Ugh, that song was horrible you musical mademoiselle!!! *song plays* You know what, I kinda like that rhythm!!!

♩♪♫♬ EEJANAIKA!!! EEJANAIKAAAAAH!!!♬♫♪♩
I love this song love, can i join in?
HAHA ♩♪♫♬ EEJANAIKA!!! EEJANAIKAAAAAH!!!♬♫♪♩
Do you think Fuji-Q’s new coaster will be Japan’s first GCI?
That would be cool!
I know they said it as the most inversions coaster with 14 inversions. But I have no one to count 14 inversions even when I added up the inversion count of the rotating seats and the track inversions. Maybe next time u try to count it 😂
Yeah I know what you mean, I don't really know where they got 14 from! :)
You should do Dinoconda!
I'll note that down, thanks for the suggestion :)
@@coasterbot no problem! Merry Christmas!
I thought that screaming eagle at Six Flags St. Louis was the world’s tallest coaster and it debuted 1976 it was 110 feet tall
My guess for the new attraction is a B&M giga coaster that will dethrone Fury 325
That'd be awesome!
