I loved hearing about how you laughed your way through this ride cause that was my exact reaction as well! No other ride has done that for me. This thing is an absolute masterpiece, and 3 years later after riding it, i’m still obsessed. Can’t wait to go back one day. Very well made video!
I rode Eejanaika twice in 2019 … but all I can remember is going up the lift hill and nothing afterwards. The ride was so insane it scrambled my brain. 😄
It's insane just how much S&S truly improved on X2. X2 on its own was already an amazing feat from Arrow Dynamics, and despite Arrow Dynamics being bankrupt because of the ride costing almost $50 million back then, I think S&S really went out with a bang with improving the Arrow version. The fact that this ride didn't just make slight improvements, but massive improvements on the overall ride experience blows my mind. Alan Schilke really outdid himself when he designed X2, but even more so with Eejanaika. And regards to the operations, I'd say that this is expected because of the difference in culture in Japan compared to that of North America. Japanese people are very kind and patient, so I would say that the way they operate the rides makes absolute sense. It's just a difference in the culture and how Japan works, which is expected. And the fact that they are safe really shows their commitment to good ride operation, and that's what I admire. So yes, the operations may seem slow to us here, but in reality, it's 100% expected and acceptable, at least when you see it from a cultural point of view.
I remember reading way back when, at the "height" of the Coaster Wars, Alan and the Six Flags guy were in "the" meeting. He said he wanted a truly signature ride, Alan didn't have anything that excited him. Then he remembered an idea he stashed in his desk based off the Zipper...and the rest, as they say, is history.
I visited Fuji-Q alone on a solo trip to Japan and heavily abused Eejanaika's single rider line. I got like 3 or 4 rides in in an hour, with the ride ops looking more and more surprised every time I came back, one of them even called me crazy at some point. The ride truly is insane tho, the sheer intensity and the way this made me uncontrollably laugh the whole way through was addicting, I must've rode it at least 10 times that day. Beats X2 to be my favourite coaster by a long shot too. EDIT: posted this before I heard you talking about the laughter too. Feel the exact same way, I don't think there's any other coaster that has had that effect on me.
I've been to theme parks all over the world in the US, Europe, China & Asia-Pacific. I've ridden the biggest, fastest and meanest around, and conquered them all. But no other coaster has even come *close* to matching the mind-bending intensity of Eejanaika. It's the only rollercoaster that left me literally incapable of comprehending what happened from the insanity of the ride experience! It's a shame such a unique and world-class ride can only be found in 2 places on the planet, because it deserves more love!
Strangely enough, the thing I remember most about that first drop is how little it actually registers. Like, you go on most hypercoasters with colossal drops like Millennium Force or El Toro and your stomach heaves from the angle of the dive. But on Eejanaika, I weirdly didn't even feel the drop, which made the experience of the seat rotating about as I dived 200ft straight down even more insane!
@@Jaxymanni think thats do to the negative gs pushing you up so your back is against the seat instead of actually feeling the drop however that zero g is euphoric
Marathoned Eeijanaika this fall and it was awesome! They changed the color scheme because the city asked them for more muted colors to not distract from Fujisan itself. Also, they have a small new old-school Japan themed town section with food and other attractions on the pathway leading to the entrance, so it’s actually pretty nice coming up to the start of the line.
I was about to comment the same as OP. That’s why you seem some convenience stores such as Lawson or 7-11 with brown only marquees, it’s because it’s usually a place of nature or colors that distract from the natural surroundings.
Definitely agree on how crazy this ride is. I remember riding X2 for the first time and thinking how crazy it was and not knowing what happened. Then Eejanaika amplified that beyond expectations. Such an awesome ride with a still terrifying first drop. Hearing the ride crew chanting “Ee-jan-aika. Ee-jan-aika, Ee-jan-aika” while waiting in line helped build that anxiety.
ive traveled and rode most of the coaster in america and X2 is in its own class of coaster.. was not expecting it to be like that at all. absolutely untouchable
I've been on both X2 (5-6 times) and eejanaika (3 times). Eejanaika is hands down a much better ride. It's not even close. I don't like going on X2 because it is so rough and hurts my head. I only ride it when other people in my party want to ride it and i always regret it. I went on eejanaika two times in a row and then went back on it the next day and it was night and day difference between the two rides. So smooth. Such a wonderful experience. Probably one of my favorite coasters of all time. One thing that was a little weird/unexpected is you have to take off your shoes before riding eejanaika.
I rode the Eejanaika in 2021 not knowing how crazy it was. It was a fairly rainy day and we entered the park just minutes after it opened so there was basically no waiting time, plus it was one of the first coasters we rode... I remember that I was terrifyed, my neck hurt a little, still it was a great experience. Not one of my favourite coasters though
I've ridden Dinoconda and Eejanaika but not X2 and as intense as Eejanaika was, Dinoconda was on a whole different level. Because there is one more car on Dinoconda's train, the first drop is even more insane, and the first raven turn is also more compact than Eejanaika's so the pacing is better. The overbank also has crazy laterals, unlike Eejanaika, where it is kind of dull compared with the rest of the ride. However, the last fly to lie into the brake run is not as intense on Dinoconda and the brake run does not tilt you forwards, but overall, I still rank Dinoconda higher than Eejanaika.
I might be imagining this, but I'm sure I heard that the bit on the brake run where it slams your face towards the catwalk is meant as a "respectful bow" to Mount Fuji.
X2 is my number 1, can’t wait for the problematic coasters video! Eejanaika looks insane and I’m glad they were able to fix some of the transitions and speed up some elements from the original prototype! We need more of these 4D coasters 🔥
@@wizmo57 i havent been to either park but i would assume it isnt since a large amount of x2's problems were due to the novelty of the concept, and able to be worked around when building eeijanaika
X2 is fantastic until you take a ride where the chair-rotation track gets a little warped (i assume this to be the cause since it only happened in a couple spots on the ride) after a hot day and it causes your lower legs to violently whip out and back a number of times towards the end of the ride... AM ride was flawless. PM ride fucking hurt.
@@metafyzix3790 this happened to me when I rode it last week, my legs smacked against the seat several times quite hard just before the final brake run. It really hurt!
The transition at @14:10 might've just sold me on 4D coaster designs, its like someone took the idea of a superhero jumping into the sky doing a back flip and just converted that to a coaster design.
My first ride of Eejanaika had my friend and me in the front car. I knew almost nothing of the ride going in, and that first drop was one of the greatest coaster experiences of my life, along with the rest of that first ride. Easily my favorite coaster. I must have been lucky when I was at the park, as Eejanaika not only had the shortest line of any ride at the park, but the average wait time in line was 5-7 minutes. We rode it 3x as much as any other ride in the park that day.
I'm a coaster enthusiast and I love all of your videos, especially how you describe everything step by step in detail from the wait line all the way to the brake run. Really fascinating stuff, very well-presented. Also the history lessons you give in the videos are great (like how they came up with the name of this coaster). Super interesting.
This video came out at the perfect time, I get to visit Japan in February, so this video was just the perfect amount of additional hype I needed for my trip.
Great review! I've ridden X2 close to 200 times as SFMM was my home park for a while. Initially Twisted Colossus was my favorite ride but over time X2 overtook it. Admittingly the second inversion and turn around are the two dead spots on the ride. Eejanaika really seems to fix these dead spots. I think Eejanaika would easily be my favorite ride at Fuji Q, and it is high on the bucket list.
I rode this 4 times yesterday, both in front and back of the train at least once, I came to the park thinking how do people think this ride is so good, as soon as we flipped on that drop, I immediately knew why, all I can do is just hysterically laugh at what on earth I’m experiencing. Every single element on that ride tried to rip you apart either from insane positive gs or very strong negative gs, it got to the point where I left the park with bruises on my shoulders from the negative gs this ride gave me. Note that this ride is padded with like 3 inches of memory foam so I don’t even know how. On top of all that, the roll that comes after the first raven turn is probably the strongest airtime moment I have ever experienced. Yes I have ridden magnum, iron gwazi, and a bunch of other airtime machines but this ride left everybody in the dust. It is my 2nd favorite ride I have ever done behind velocicoaster, it is just that good. Also one thing that appears to have changed in this ride is that they now ask you to remove your shoes and put it inside a locker instead of the pens. Finally, the dispatches for this ride rather slow, are filled with energy, when they give you a safety briefing they have a little chant and almost dance that helps teach you the safety of the ride though I did not understand it as I did not speak Japanese, still a cool sight though.
Haven't gotten the chance to visit a place like Japan but I remember the first time I ever rode X2 I legitimately thought I was going to die. I think I had to of been around 14 years old or something riding with my two other friends who chose to sit with each other so I had to experience it alone. Pulling out of the station and climbing into the lift was one of my most terrorizing moments ever. My two friends were in the row behind and I could hear them PRAYING that they'd be okay and that only made it worse LOL and coupled with the onboard music that sealed the deal. That drop really is one of the most unique experiences you can have on a roller coaster, maybe THE most unique. I think my mind kind of went blank and I'm pretty sure I went into total fight or flight mode. The drop was definitely the scariest part of the ride and after that I wasn't as scared for the rest of the layout but I was still somewhat holding on to that feeling of trying not to die hahaha. Absolutely legendary ride just wish it wasn't as rough lmao.
Amazing!!!! Great video as usual. As soon as I see your full length videos like this I immediately go to one of my televisions and watch it on there where it deserves to be seen
I rode eejanaika in 2015. When the seats flipped to face straight down for the first drop I was caught off-guard and just hugged my restraints. I was in absolute awe. Was able to ride it two more times that day. Favorite roller coaster until now :)
Just went on Eejanaika 3x today, left twice (seat 3 and 1) and right once (seat 5) Ik it’s been said to death, but that first drop is literally unmatched. Nothing can prepare you for what’s about to happen. Not even riding the ride lol For any coaster fan looking for a crazy intense ride that doesn’t skimp on quality and is masterfully crafted, this is it
I rode Eejanaika in 2017, didn't get to the park early enough in the day to get the line-skip passes and so waited over 2 hours in the queue. I had my phone loaded up with podcasts to listen to (as I was going solo - I guess I missed the single-rider line) so it wasn't too bad. "Completely divorced from the concept of Euclidian geometry" is how I describe it. I really want to get back to Fuji-Q for another visit - both to get on Eejanaika again, and because the year I went was when Do-dodonpa was closed for the big overhaul (putting in the loop). Not an easy trip from the UK, but Japan is seriously worth it.
The industry should build a statue of Alan Schilke to honor his genius and greatness....Humble, innovative, adventurous, honest, loyal, determined, these are the words I've heard and read that people use to describe Mr. Schilke. I honestly feel he should have a statue of himself at every park that has one of his greatest creations, they have statues for great basketball players, baseball players, and these guys are also still alive, so I don't think I'm being too outrageous. If it can be done for athletes why can't it be done for one of the world's greatest engineers and designers? Js
The element's called a "full-full" because you do a full 180-degree rotation (flip) and a full 180-degree roll (track inversion). Similarly, the "half-half" element is only a half rotation and a half roll.
Thank you for making sense of what I experienced. I rode Eejanaika in the dark, which made the coaster even more insane with the dulled sense of sight. I would definitely go back to experience it in the day time next.
I am going to Japan for the first time in April and will go to Fuji Q in early May! Hoping Do Do Donpa is fixed and the new launched coaster is ready by then! X2 was insane so I can only imagine what this beast will feel like!
Head STRAIGHT to the stand selling the cut the line passes. You won't be sorry! I went to the then new Takabisha first, and the Eejanaika passes were sold out by then.
This is probably my number one bucket list coaster. I rode X2 for the first time a month ago (it was also my 150th credit), and I was blown away, especially in the very back. I went in expecting a really good ride that would probably be in my top 10, but it ended up beating Fury 325 and became my number one. Also, I too prefer the outside seats as it adds to the out of control feeling.
I have been a massive coaster fan my entire life and that retractable awning left me in awe. Pun intended but also completely true. One of the coolest, pun not intended, things that I have ever seen at a coaster park.
The first Raven on X2 is one of my favourite elements on any coaster I've ridden so I'm not sure how I'd feel about doing it with a flip but other than that Eejanaika looks a lot better. X2 front and back row is one of the most bonkers coasters I've ever ridden and some of the elements on Eejanaika look like they take it to the next level. That full-full might just be my bucket list element, it looks like you are on a Zierer Star Shape while riding a coaster! Nice review!
We rode Eejanaika five years ago - it was so painful being slammed around like that. It was the first time I ever thought "I'm getting too old for roller coasters." I was 38. I found something really funny about the surreal field of empty shoes left behind (and stressful. Someone had stolen one of my shoes at a hot spring earlier in the trip, and it was my last pair, lol). Takabisha is my absolute favorite roller coaster hands down - that beautiful, quiet moment when you wait for the drop is wonderful. Fujiyama was a delight if a little traditional, and Dododonpa was over way too quickly. We got to ride each exactly once before the weather closed everything down. The park staff said that was common, so definitely buy the line skip pass
You should try riding this coaster at least twice; the first ride is chaotic and extremely fun since you have no idea what's going on. However, the second ride you're able to naturally brace yourself for the intense elements, and you can really take in the coaster's value!
Up until this video, i had assumed that the rotations were controlled by some far more complicated computer controlled servo motor, and im impressed at how simple the actual system is
Though I haven't ridden this, I agree it's the most insane in the world. I've ridden X2 at Magic Mtn so I know the sensations... and Eejanaika's layout and elements are next level above that. This 4th dimension concept is so good, but so complex with the 4 rails and everything. Great video, thanks!!
Eejaniaka definitely improved on X2. I love X2 and travel out ti Magic Mountain every time I visit my cousins in LA. So far it's the only rollercoaster to ever get me to scream and close my eyes the first time I rode it. I rode it an additional eight times that day. I'm sure I would love this one as well and would venture out there if I'm ever in Japan!
New to this channel and this is a deliriously geeky breakdown of this 2-minute ride -- but surprisingly engaging and easy to understand for someone not as familiar with all the terminology.
Managed to get one of the last rides before they shut due to rain. An already insane coaster felt absolutely mental in the rain. The first drop is one of the best elements I've ever experienced.
For those who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop the train in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another.
Just booked my flight to Tokyo just a week ago, not going for exclusively coasters, but thank you for contributing to my mouth foaming obsession with getting on this ride.
I went there in April 24 during a motorcycle tour around Mt. Fuji. As I was staying in an Inn within walking distance, I got there very early before the people from Tokio arrived, right when the park opened. Still waited around 20mins or so. After the ride while I was trying to reconstitute my soul back into my body on a nearby bench I counted maybe 3 cars in half an hour. The track and elevator were empty 9/10ts of the time, so they were only running one train at a time. While I was there, there was also only one boarding area with the red footmarks on the ground so maybe one train operation is the new standard.
Loved x2, Dinoconda was increible, going to eejanaika in 2025, dont know how eejanaika and dinoconda differ… to me these 4d are the greatest coasters ever, they are massive tho, the tracks, supports, the trains… they are just another level of engineering… i hope they keep them alive for long
Alan Schilike is a legend in the industry. Awesome video Ryan, keep up the awesome work! Japan as a whole has an underrated coaster lineup; Hakugei, Flying Dinosaur, Big Boom, Eejanaika, etc.
yes! Don't forget Do dodonpa, Steel Dragon, Multiple Togo Ultra twisters, Arashi ( the most intense free spin ), Fujiyama, Bandit, Takabisha, Hollywood Dream (The B&M Hyper you can ride backwards at USJ), Thunder Dolphin, Kawasemi ( Intamin Megalite ) and Diavlo and Venus GP at Himeji Central Park.
@@moylen8260 those coasters are look great as well! China, and America are the only countries that have better lineups in my opinion, but Japan is a great place for enthusiasts!
@@coasterconquistador2517 yes China looks to have some very good coasters as well, sadly I will probably never travel there, but will be in Japan in April for the first time! Looking forward to riding the big 3 you listed though!!
Great video! I thought I knew these 2 coasters in and out, but you mentioned a couple things I hadn't thought of. I loved hearing my opinion about preferring the first drop and raven turn on X2 called out here, whether you intended to or not. One other minor thing X2 does do better than Eejanaika is not making constant announcements about the fact if you are not on the ride by park closing time, you won't get to ride, even though you're in line. I've found most of my line waits on Eijienika to be very tense, especially since I lost $40 once because the ride paused due to weather right as I got up to the station, and after waiting nervously for over an hour, I had to forfeit my ride pass and fast pass because I had to catch a bus. It's also much easier to get the seat you want on X2, you just ask the seat assigner or choose it yourself, whereas on Eejanaika your seat is determined by the order you pass through the metal detector, and it's very difficult to request a row change due to the language and cultural differences. The boarding experience on Eejanaika can make you feel like a schoolchild that must be on their best behavior. On slow days at Magic Mountain, I have amazing memories of riding X2 front row 5+ consecutive times because there was no line, including even a few rides during a huge rain downpour, and chumming it up with the ride operators, whereas I don't feel like that is something that would ever happen on Eejanaika.
I knew there were differences between this and X2 but I didn’t know how much of a difference there was in the layouts! Makes me want to get to Japan that much sooner!
This review brings back distant memories of riding Eejanaika back in 2015. I rode it twice that day and then I was DONE lol. It was too intense I needed time to recover, which only the large S&S 4D coasters have done to me.
I'm 51 and have been a fan of roller coasters since I was a kid growing up going to Disneyland, Knotts and Magic Mountain since LA was my home town. I rode X2 about 10 years back on a visit to town from Vegas(new home town), and I honestly don't know what I was thinking that day. LOL I can only imagine what a more refined version of that coaster must be like, and it's really scary to even think about.
I've been on this ride twice in 2020!!!! its absolutely amazing and definitely the most intense roller coaster ive ever ridden. that first drop is insane!!!!
Nice video, Ryan. My dad used to always describe X/X2 as feeling like a carefully choregraphed car accident. Eejanaika feels like being a rag doll in an industrial dryer. I do prefer the first raven turn on X2, though- it feels like you're rocketing up- better feeling of flying than any B&M (other than Flying Dinosaur). X2 tends to be a better ride when it's hot out, though, from my experience. Have fun!
It looks like this coaster found a way to make you get the sensation of a pro X games snowboarder from all the rotations and inversions, constant switch stances, looks awesome.
I love the video, but I wish you would have talked more about X2 and its history and problems. I found it so interesting and fascinating to learn about, especially about it being one of Arrow's last attempts at survival as a company. EDIT: Never mind, I wrote this comment before I heard him mention the video that an X2 video is coming!
@@ElToroRyan Gotcha! I wrote my comment just a few minutes before I heard you mentioned the video that there's going to be a problematic roller coasters for X2. Looking forward to it, love the videos!
Interesting to see the changes since my visit in 2012. I wonder how the new trains affect the ride. It's good to hear that they've added the extra pens for getting riders ready, because they didn't have them then, making loading EXTREMELY slow (well over 10 minutes per dispatch!), especially with how strict they were with NO loose articles. They made me get off and go back to the shelf to put a KLEENEX on it! Also, it sounds like they've improved operations, since the ops were super slow back then. My three waits averaged over 2.5 hours each, partially due to the many extended breakdowns! But it was worth it for the awesome ride! It also didn't help that I made the mistake of going straight from the bus to Takabisha to try to beat some people to the queue But all of the cut the line passes for Eejanaika were sold out by then! (Luckily, was able to get them for Takabisha, Fujiyama and the awesome Haunted Hospital!) Do they still play the Eejanaika chant/song in the queue? After over 7 hours in the queue, it was stuck in my head for months after!
1st ride: you have ZERO idea whats going on… kinda in a bad way 2nd ride: scarier than the first because you *kinda* know what’s happening but you can really appreciate the intensity 3rd ride: if you love intensity and “airtime” (the airtime is so violent it does not feel like traditional airtime) then you have a new number 1 coaster
Eejanaika and X2 are some of the most insane rollercoasters I've ridden, and it took my siblings and a few shots to get me on board Eejanaika after X2 beat the crap out of me because of the roughness, and I was lmfaoing the entire duration of the ride. I got to marathon Eejanakia 5 times, and I couldn't walk straight for days afterwards
Having gone on X/X2 maybe 7-8 times over the years since its original unveiling I always thought it would be the future of rollercoasters and wondered why other 4d coasters hadn't been developed, considered how weirdly disorienting they are. It must be cost/maintenance. Its cool to see this concept taken to the next level.
Rode it about a month ago during cherry blossom season. Thought the ride staff over strapped my restraints that I could barely breath than any ride I’ve ever ridden. Once the ride was in motion, I was still moving as if I was loose. Boy was I wrong 😅
S&S *seriously* needs to build another one of these! With some of the advancements since then, I’m sure they could make it pretty smooth nowadays! I think part of the reason the first ones were rough is the rails that spin the seats are jerky, which could definitely be fixed now!
“You can really feel them bouncing up and down during the rides high speed pullouts or shaking back and forth while rotating”!!!! And "The ride is so insane, if it were any longer it would probably be way too much"!!!! Are we still talking about Eejanaika or El Toro Ryans School of Pickup Lines???
I love X and X2 and I always knew they're was a crazier version in Japan. Man that coaster looks intense, I hope to one day ride it. For now X2 will do!
I've been binging your videos ever since one was in my feed but I have to ask have you ever considered covering coasters in Canada's Wonderland? I've enjoyed hearing your thoughts on wooden roller coasters and I was wondering what you thought of the Mighty Canadian Minebuster? Or the evolution from Behemoth to Leviathan to Yukon Striker as I'm fairly certain they were all done by the same manufacturer. Also thanks for converting all of the units of measurement.
I went to Eejanaika last summer, unaware of the fact that the seats rotate until halfway through the line. Being a roller coaster enthusiast, I haven't been afraid of roller coasters in over 10 years until I found out about the ride's rotating seats. (I get nervous about rides that spin too much.) I was trying so hard not to have a full-blown anxiety attack over the possibility of passing out or getting nausea from rotating seats, even with the staff assuring me that it'll be okay. As the ride went through its frist drop, I realized that it actually wasn't as dizzying as I thought it would be, but it was still so intense because of the ride's elements and the safety instructional videos while waiting in line. One of the most important things about riding safely was to keep the back straight and the knees bent the whole time, but there was this one turn that was so intense, my legs flailed for a moment and I had to swallow my fears completely so I can keep my legs in the correct position during the momentum. By the time the ride was over, my Mom saw that I had a frazzled and scared look on my face, especially when she knows very well that I'm not afraid of roller coasters. So it pretty much gave her an idea how just how insane Eejanaika really was and why she couldn't ride it apart from a bad knee and the ride's maximum age limit. All in all, despite Eejanaika making me afraid of roller coasters for the first time in many years, it truly was unique and awesome, and the view of Mt. Fuji on that clear sunny day at the time was the cherry on top. I highly recommend Eejanaika for anyone who visits Fuji-Q Highland.
@@markylon She's in her mid-50's. But yeah, that caught us by utter surprise while waiting in line. Can't remember if the max age limit is 54 or 64, but either way, those signs and safety instructional videos made the wait a lot more nerve-wracking (that, and the carts flying by every few minutes).
I haven’t ridden Eejanaika but I’ve ridden X2 and I thought it was an absolutely crazy experience, and this coaster looks an even crazier coaster that I would love to ride someday
This ride did a collab with SolidS (an anime music group, look them up, they’re wonderful) in 2018, and that made me start researching this ride, and that’s what got me into CoasterTube. I’m way too scared to actually ride this but I like to watch it from the ground. Thanks for another great video!
two ride elements that could make the 4D coaster even more insane: 1. Take a inside vertical loop, going in backwards, do an extra front flip at the top to add onto the front flip on the loop. 2. Remove the sync between the seat rotation and the track rotation in a zero-g roll. Either flip upside down before the seats flip, or have the track do 360 degrees of rotation and the seats do 720 degrees.

China has Dinoconda, so it’s three, but still three…
Best coaster I have ever been on. That first drop is INSANE. There is not any other coaster as intense as this one. Kudos Fuji Q.
Ahhhh that’s interesting!
There's probably a small number of people who have been on both this and X2 and it's always interesting to hear their thoughts!
I am legit wondering the number of people who rode this, X2 and Dinoconda.
I'd imagine it's gotta be under 4 digits lol
ive traveled and rode most of the coaster in america and X2 is in its own class of coaster.. was not expecting it to be like that at all. absolutely untouchable
I might be imagining this, but I'm sure I heard that the bit on the brake run where it slams your face towards the catwalk is meant as a "respectful bow" to Mount Fuji.
love that!!!!
It's also to ensure that the brakes push you down into your seat.
@@alaeriia01 yeah I suppose that avoids any neck snap. Nice.
Yep, I DEFINITELY felt that when it did that😂
X2 is my number 1, can’t wait for the problematic coasters video! Eejanaika looks insane and I’m glad they were able to fix some of the transitions and speed up some elements from the original prototype! We need more of these 4D coasters 🔥
is Eejanaika closed as much for necessary maintenance due to the extremes in centri-force ?
I am a proud lover of X2 as a resident of LA and I am so glad that more refined and smoother versions if X2 are out there. Great review.
ive been on both and x2 is smoother but eejanaika is more extreme
I’m happy S&S managed to make a world class coaster with Eejanaika!
Will S&S ever build another mega-size 4D coaster like this? I am itching to see what it could look like
@@AG7-MTM Giga 4d going to SFGA for anniversary? We can only hope haha
Funspot
@@AG7-MTM They did. Dinoconda in China in 2012. It's a little bit shorter (in both height and length), but just as good as Eejanaika!
We just left Fuji Q and it was great to learn more about this ride that is certainly the most crazy we have been on.. cheers!
This video came out at the perfect time, I get to visit Japan in February, so this video was just the perfect amount of additional hype I needed for my trip.
Get cut the line passes for all the big rides at Fiji-Q (especially the awesome Haunted Hospital!) You won't be sorry! Have fun!
The most indepth and well articulated ride walkthrough ive ever heard, very descriptive. amazing work
日本のジェットコースターが海外の方々の間でも取り上げていただけると、自分もなんだか嬉しい気分になります😊
12:17 this teasing is what we see on all RMCs designed by Alan Schilke aswell, i love that so much.
Just went on Eejanaika 3x today, left twice (seat 3 and 1) and right once (seat 5)
Ik it’s been said to death, but that first drop is literally unmatched. Nothing can prepare you for what’s about to happen. Not even riding the ride lol
For any coaster fan looking for a crazy intense ride that doesn’t skimp on quality and is masterfully crafted, this is it
did this a few days ago, the most extreme RC on earth. Violent, fast and laugh-inducing. Nothing like it
I rode Eejanaika in 2017, didn't get to the park early enough in the day to get the line-skip passes and so waited over 2 hours in the queue.
It's an easy trip from the UK, turn up at Airport, get on plane, arrive in Tokyo. Get coach from Tokyo Station, Arrive at Fuji Q. Couldn't be Simpler.
That makes a lot of sense! Thanks for the clarification
It won't disappoint...
Head STRAIGHT to the stand selling the cut the line passes. You won't be sorry! I went to the then new Takabisha first, and the Eejanaika passes were sold out by then.
@@DavidHHH99 oh damn ok i will be sure to go to that stand. I have heard its worth paying per ride becaues of the long waits

Classic shadow prince
thank you for this. love the breakdown, its so easy to see why this coaster is absolutely nutty. loved the meaning behind it to!
I absolutely love X2 and this looks absolutely awesome. Definitely in my top 10 bucket list coasters.
I don't think it's possible to build a coaster more badass than X2 -- except this one. Bucket-list for sure.
Eejanaika review lets goooo!!!! 💯🍻
@@moylen8260 that’s awesome! I doubt I’ll ever get to China either. I hope you have a good time in Japan!
I'm terrified of heights, and I hate amusement parks, but I've been addicted to your videos. They're very entertaining.
I knew there were differences between this and X2 but I didn’t know how much of a difference there was in the layouts! Makes me want to get to Japan that much sooner!
The world needs more of these.
Have fun!
Adding to my list! I rode X2 about 8 times. I like it and am always taken back by the drop but this.
This looks so fun and insane!! 🔥🔥
I got to ride this thing yesturday and it's the most intense coaster ive ever ridden! Its genuinely insane
Your description and enthusiasm for this ride definitely makes me want to visit Japan.
Hopefully Do-Dodonpa is reopen by then.
No it won't be open and very unlikely ever to reopen
Ooooooooo that transition into that ad was sooooo smooth. Hahahah yep I’m definitely a subscriber now! Hahaha great content my friend!
That’s for the eventual Problematic Roller Coasters video on X! Don’t worry, I won’t miss anything
(Luckily, was able to get them for Takabisha, Fujiyama and the awesome Haunted Hospital!)
Do they still play the Eejanaika chant/song in the queue? After over 7 hours in the queue, it was stuck in my head for months after!
Knew this was coming but I didn't expect it to drop today! Awesome!
X2 is my #1 so Eej is high on the bucket list. Stoked to watch this!
I'm going to Fuji Q this September, wish me luck!
1st ride: you have ZERO idea whats going on… kinda in a bad way
2nd ride: scarier than the first because you *kinda* know what’s happening but you can really appreciate the intensity
3rd ride: if you love intensity and “airtime” (the airtime is so violent it does not feel like traditional airtime) then you have a new number 1 coaster
This is a bucket list coaster for me… Even though I was absolutely terrified on X2, this thing seems to be a must do.
Just finished learning about Japan in Geo. My book mentioned a lot about Japan, but the never mentioned their fantastic rollercoaster collection!
Would love to see a problematic rollercoasters episode on x2 glad to hear it’s on your list!
Rode it about a month ago during cherry blossom season. Thought the ride staff over strapped my restraints that I could barely breath than any ride I’ve ever ridden. Once the ride was in motion, I was still moving as if I was loose. Boy was I wrong 😅
It physically makes you bow at the end. Never noticed that before.
S&S *seriously* needs to build another one of these! With some of the advancements since then, I’m sure they could make it pretty smooth nowadays! I think part of the reason the first ones were rough is the rails that spin the seats are jerky, which could definitely be fixed now!
There is Dinoconda in China, but because these are inherently higher maintenance with lower capacity, nobody else has taken S&S up on the model.
And he's back with another amazing video!!!
Oh hell yes! My day instantly improved

Grateful to have ridden this - and yea can confirm nothing comes close to how insane and frightening this ride is.
FYI the element you called a "half-half" can also be known as a "twisting flip"
I've been binging your videos ever since one was in my feed but I have to ask have you ever considered covering coasters in Canada's Wonderland? I've enjoyed hearing your thoughts on wooden roller coasters and I was wondering what you thought of the Mighty Canadian Minebuster? Or the evolution from Behemoth to Leviathan to Yukon Striker as I'm fairly certain they were all done by the same manufacturer.
Also thanks for converting all of the units of measurement.
Whoever wrote that japanese commercial was tripping absolute balls
I’m a California native and resident, so I love fourth dimension coasters and my pet favorite coaster in magic mountain being 40 min away
How old is your Mum, I didn't see any maximum age limits
@@markylon She's in her mid-50's. But yeah, that caught us by utter surprise while waiting in line. Can't remember if the max age limit is 54 or 64, but either way, those signs and safety instructional videos made the wait a lot more nerve-wracking (that, and the carts flying by every few minutes).
@@dannyrpgninetwooak6434yeah the max age was 54 when I went

two ride elements that could make the 4D coaster even more insane:
The que railings that also function as temporary seating is genius 4:53
Still my Number 1 after riding it back in 2019 for the first time. Glad it’s only a 2 hour drive from me
