I was there in January and must have had the most lucky choice of day I could possibly have got. Clear weather and the park was dead, there couldn't have been more than 50 people there. Aside for Dododonpa for most of the day, and Eej towards the end, everything was either walk on or a 1 train wait. Ended up with 19 rides overall (6 Eej, 4, Dodo, 4 Taka, 3 Fuji and 1 each on the other 2).
@Ben Lowe I was there on the Friday, 10th of Jan. This is what the queues were lik, plus the view of Fuji I had: imgur.com/a/ysaqnlr Afaik, based on my research before going, as long as you go mid week during the winter months, it should be really quiet. Just pay attention to weather before "locking in" on a day to go.
Honestly going into this place with low expectations, I left being blown away by this park. Every weird and quirky part of this made me love it even more. And all the rides were fantastic. It's definitely one of the most unique parks I have ever visited. Nice video!
Also somehow I managed to fit in most of the operating rides in one day with rerides which completely surprised me. Eejanaika is definitely my favorite roller coaster I've ridden.
I love that train of Moonsault Scramble that operated from 1983-2000. That ride was technically the first roller coaster to go over 200 feet before Magnum in 1989 lol, and pulled 6.5 positive G's during the ride, which is insane. That could still be the best Meisho coaster if it was still in operation.
I had 2 days at Fuji-Q highland, 1 day Mt fuji completely visible the entire day, other day partially. Since one of the days was in the Golden week of japan the park was opened until 10 pm, it was already completely dead that day so i was able to get a bunch of nightrides on Eejanaika, had about 11 rides that day alone with many night rides (Single rider was closed bc it was so dead, so i was able to get in line inmediately anyway. The other day it was quite a bit busier but single rider was opened so bc of that i was able to marathon fujiyama (there was no one in single rider and was able to get on instantly) just fell in love with that ride. I loved this park and had a great experience.
I went during golden week in 2016. Probably the worst time to go there. It was super busy and we only had one day. We were only able to do two coasters. But Mt. Fuji was visible the whole time, and getting to see it as we went up the lift on Eejanaika was amazing
Because of my schedule I was only able to go there on a Saturday. Next time I am definitely going to make sure I go there on a weekday and hope for smaller crowds. I could add that taking a bus from Shinjuku Bus Terminal in Tokyo was quite cheap. On the way back the highway was quite crowded so it took a while. I still found it convenient since I didn't ride many trains on that Japan trip. The yakisoba I had for lunch was also nice.
That's an interesting note about closing time. My first thought is that they respect the employees and their need for time off. Your videos are excellent. Been watching quite a few various coaster vids & channels lately but starting to notice the developed and consistent quality of this channel.
Its such a weird park its fun. Once you realize what it is, you'll have so much fun here. You did a great job describing this park. It has a place in my heart as wierdly it was the reason I visited Japan. Co-workers told me if you like rides you gotta try this crazy theme park in Japan and so i did and loved it. Funny enough if you have friends who hate rides, they can enjoy themselves at the french part of the park and have fun
I am planning a Japan trip in October, near the end of the typhoon season, hopefully plans aren't ruined by weather. I am looking at visiting Fuji-Q on a weekday and avoiding holidays so I think I could get away with just one day at Fuji-Q as a single rider and making the trip to Nagoya to stay on-site for one day at Nagashima Spa Land. My itinerary may get too crammed trying to do two days at both parks but at minimum I just want to ride the big coasters and repeat rides + anything else past that would be a bonus. This video is 4 years old and I did check to see that both Fuji-Q and Nagashima have short operating hours - 9:30am to 5pm. Much shorter than what I'm used to in the US but I can make it work.
Oh man, MOS burger is the best. My favorite fast food burger chain, I'd take it over In n Out, Whataburger, White Castle... any day of the week. That explains my love for Universal Japan so much, they have one in City Walk... LOL

This is a great guide and I’m really excited!!
I went there during december and the sky was clear but the wait time was like crazy and i sat in 4-5 rides and also in some rides when we go to the top and they ask us to remove out shoes , i was shivering bcoz of how cold it was it was below 0. But great view of the mountain
Hey Taylor, love your channel!! Another great review, always a blast to watch. Could you maybe do a Saw The Ride review from Thorpe park, that would honestly make my week 😂. Keep up the amazing stuff!
One tip I'd also like to add,if you can only do one day at the park and are staying in Tokyo,I would highly recommend getting the highway bus from tokyo station which goes direct to Fuji-Q. The bus will get you there in time for park opening while the earliest train you could get will get you there 1 hour after park opening.
My experience in Japan - great parks, no queue discipline. The parks let endless people cut in line to join their friends. Basically means the queue times are terrible and queues move very slowly.
I wonder if the 100 yen discount is so they can track the number of foreign visitors. The $1 in saving us just enough to get you to show your passport to confirm and log the number of foreigners visiting. Parks love this kind of info.
The face detection at my work place in Japan can detect faces within 0.2 sec even with a mask on and it measures the temperature(we installed it because of the pandemic). Man, technology has come far.
The loading system with a waiting area for Eejanaika sounds a lot like the one on Flying Turns at Knoebels, though that's on a smaller scale. In the case of Flying Turns it's because they weight you before boarding though, so I'm not sure what the reasoning is here. I'd love to visit this park one day.
Pizza-la is one of the biggest Pizza chains in Japan and they sponsored that ride. Its not too weird that they have it there together with one of their restaurants
Pretty Accurate Review of Fuji-Q! Really wish I had another day at this park when I went last October, because these line get packed, especially on a weekend. What kinda annoyed me was that Takabisha and Do-Dodonpa's fast pass lines didn't act as single rider lines like the other two coasters and the main queue, so those lines were insane for those. One thing you didn't mention, likely because it wasn't there when you were there, was that they had a pretty cool Naurto area with a ramen shop, midway games, and a fun dark shooter ride which felt like a lower budget version of Toy Story Mania at disney.
Hey coaster studios, I have a question. I am wondering. What parks would you suggest to go to in Japan. I am going there in the summer (whilst there are Paralympic games going on). I am thinking there will be less of a crowd as the games attract a lot of people. The 4 parks I am considering are: - universal studios japan. - Disney japan. japan. -Fuji q -nagashima spa land. Please let me know your opinion! Thank you very much! Ps: I am 100% visiting universal. So I would love to know what your ranking is of these parks. (Nr1 is universal, NR2 is fuji q etc etc)
Those are definitely the 4 best parks in Japan, so if you only have time to visit 4, then you've got the right idea, those are the ones to hit. If you have time to do any more, I'd add in Yomiuriland, which is a good 5th option.
@@CoasterStudios thank you so much for the reply. Is there anyway possible you could rank them best to worst? I'm looking for overall fun. Not necessarily only extreme thrills. Much appreciated!
We are going to Japan in May next year and I'm trying to convince my wife we need to go here. I might have to sacrifice another park for it. We went to Universal Orlando this year, so maybe can skip Universal Japan (although I loved Universal!).
Fuji Q Highland is definitely on my park bucket list, Mainly cus of Do-Dodonpa. I was originally planning to go this year but due to Covid it would likely be difficult to accomplish. I still remember I had plans on going to this amusement park in Sept 2005 to ride Dododonpa, got lost. finally found the inn, looked at it, saw rust & mold covering it, called my Osaka Hotel ( got the last room ) & rechecked in. Universal & Nagashima Spa Land Was Great. Disney Was OK. To this day always wanted to go back. I am confused after watching this Great Video A 2ND Time. If I wait inline with all the others being a single rider am Ii allowed to choose where I sit?? I ONLY Go Front Row. I have waited up to 3 hrs before on some rides.

its ok. the park hours are way too short. and if it rains you're basically screwed and can only ride 2 rides. Things like the hospital, by the time i found it and went to check it out around 3pm it was already closed for the day, so went to line up for a coaster and they had already closed the line for that too because it was closed most of the day so the wait time was 2 hours as soon as it re-opened. Thankfully i road dodonpa in the morning as soon as i arrived. I guess it would have been a different experience had it not rained. But my day just felt rushed overall, and kind of a waste of time and money going there.
