Holy crap you just save me from a lot of mental pain trying to figure out why my clutch wouldnt slip around the engine pulley. I never would have though about pinching the belt
Very cool. I just replaced my 416-8 Wheel Horse belt and it has the belt brake built into the body from the factory and uses only 1 idler pulley with a 5/8 by 83 inch belt. It also has two guide pins on the engine which keep the pulley on when shifting. It also has the bolt on cover as well without the. Rounded pulley cover on the engine since I still have the stock drive pulley and PTO setup. I am trying to put in a dual pully system so I have a on the fly high and low speed off the engine drive pully using the PTO to shift. So I would have 16 speeds instead of 8 I have now or a 416-16 Wheel Horse.
On the original Belt Guard there are a piece of flat bar which protrude from the end of the guard - Top and Bottom - these have a small kink at the ends- when the clutch is disengaged - they keep the belt narrowed hence push the slack AWAY from the engine pulley in order to avoid frictional belt grip
@@LilBJessup dude idk ima just send it and see what happens thinking a 6 or 7 inch off the stock 12 horse engine to a 3 or 4 maybe on the transmission. Just gonna play around with it and see what speeds I can hit, plan on slamming it to the ground later on, she looks like yours just a rust bucket version😂
@@Chevy-yl3nb be careful with the smaller trans pulleys, they tend to have a lot of belt slip. Fit the absolute largest pulley you can find on the motor and keep like a 5inch on the trans.
@@LilBJessup will do thanks for the help, might just leave the stock trans one on and see what happens, maybe I can find a 8 inch for the engine, I’ll let you know how it goes! I’d be happy with at least 30 mph
Lol, this thing is unpredictable to wheelie, unlike a bike where you can find the balance point, this thing is like trying to wheelie a school desk. Once it gets up, it just keeps going until it flips lol.
@@LilBJessup It's okay to admit if you're scared? 🤣 Giving you a hard time since everyone here knows you aint scared!!! Maybe scared of losing to PJ.....but that's about it!
That bottom pulley was definitely not big enough because the smaller it gets, the less friction and surface area you’ll have. That pulley comes off the gearbox doesn’t look stock too. But great solution! No I have some ideas for mine. 😀
I have a c161. It had an automatic in it. I put a 8 speed in it ,out of a c160. Can the brake and clutch be on the same pedal? If i mash the bar down with my hand it will work the clutch. Just wondering. It looks like it will work. I also will try and do a pulley upgrade. I also locked the rear axle by welding it.
were can i get some pulleys? IE:" DIFFERENT =sizes, for engine and trans? i got a b100? wheel horse, with the stock 10hp kohler. I wanta bring the top speed up a few mph..
That was awesome I like it that's what I want to do to my wheel horse but I ain't had a chance yet but it will get done that is very cool👍👍👍👍👍✌✌✌✌😎😎😎😎😎
You built a racing tractor. The engine pulley is way to big for gear # 3 take off from dead stop. 19 mpg is too fast for safe tractor operation. Just saying.

I'm sure it's an amazing system and it may even find it's way onto my machine at some future date when I know as much as you about Wheel Horse anatomy but I'm more of the school of "Let's increase the spring tension on that idler and see how she runs without a spring that sounds like it was meant to close the screen door at grandma's back porch." Almost did your holey pulley mod also, but going to try it out first
@@LilBJessup gotta thank Mr Studabaker for that mod hes the one that pushed for us belt folk to finally try it out
