- We're finally getting back into the drivetrain of the mowers in this video! Its time to build the clutch, or dissingageable belt setup if you prefer. Not many parts to go over, its mostly just raw materials, some stock lawnmower parts and a few power transmission parts from McMaster Carr.
Thanks a lot for this build series im building my first one can’t wait to get out there . Your videos are a big help!!! Thanks again
Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for the update. You should still post that other content for those who would like to see it. Stay Safe. Stay Healthy!!!
Or if u have an old run that runs good I would love that and your build videos are so cool
Right on, it's almost a roller.
I think you are probably the first person I have heard of besides myself that runs those pulley sizes. On your old setup, was your clutch closer to the engine like on this? On my current mower, the clutch is dead center between the trans pulley and engine pulley and the disengagement is my biggest issue so I wonder what works best for you.
Yes, the clutch was in a similar spot on my older mower too
I have a suggestion for the clutch shaft when you mentioned the bushings were captive on there. Could you cut a keyway and tap the inside of the pedal end of the shaft? Have a shaft collar to the inside, and then bolt and fender washer the hub, as well as the set screw, and have the pedal welded to the hub. As I was typing this I was worried there might not be enough material there to do that, and use what might feel like a sufficient sized bolt. I like the design of the clutch pulley mounting, with the long shaft it rotates on. Looks good at preventing unwanted movement in any direction other than where you want the assembly to move.
A key way setup could work too, in the event that the bronze wears out I'll just have to grind the weld off on the side opposite the pedal. The bushings should last the life of the mower, I just like having things more serviceable
@@TheJanticJournal serviceability was what I was thinking with the suggestion, but you are right, the pedal itself in general shouldn't be a high wear item.
Hey I really really like your mower builds and I just got mine stolen and I don’t have the money to build a new one so I was wondering if u could build me one
Keep going one those really good videos I love watching them
Im about to have to start from scratch to eliminate the old cvt set up and all the brackets that are involved
You should build an unlimited class mower, twin cylinder. motor.
Any suggestions for someone trying to get started in mower racing? Former bmore Md resident my self now living in Va. Love the build super inspired
You should use a vent on that transmission so that it doesn't build pressure
I definitely will, that transmission isn't race prepped at all, still filled with grease. Thanks for the view and comment!
@@TheJanticJournal no problem I look forward to possibly meeting you at a race after all this stuff is done because I'm getting into racing
Could you show how the rest of this is set up? How does the pedal connect to this?
Awesome setup!! I’m making my own race mower and are on the last steps but I’m having trouble with the governor…what do you do? Completely delete the governor or do adjust the oem one? I really need help with this if anyone knows please lmk!
How about that torque converter set up on the DB30S boys? Did you have to modify the frame or did you trim the TAV2? My gx160 is mounted using an NR Racing plate so I'm sitting about an inch off the frame as is. Is it possible to install without cutting the original chain tensioner tab? I tried looking for the video where you did the install, is it easier with the gtc?
Where are you guys at? I think I heard you mention New England I think. Im headed back to NH.
Were from CT, we have a racing mower event in NH in October btw
@@TheJanticJournal nice. Wheres it at?
There's a mini bike go kart meet in Worcester coming up too.
Looking good. My grandson asked me to build one for him. Is there a www with all rules and regulations?
Thanks, glad to hear hes interested in the hobby! Letsmow.com has the rules for USLMRA, do you know where you would be racing?
Here's the page to the USLMRA rules: letsmow.com/rules-tech/official-rules/
Hi! I build a mud and I am using a 6 inch cast iron pulley on front. When I change gears it hard. And even when clutch is fully press the tractor want to move. Belt tension is perfect.
Do you ever had this problem? I am thinking about machining the pulley...
Were did get pullys 6 and 5 ?
E.C. Carburetors, I wouldn't recommend them unless you only race on hard pact clay. They're aluminum and get worn out really quick if they see lots of dirt.
@@TheJanticJournal carb place was pulley
Could you please post the part number or where you Source your Transmissions from.
Can I have the link to but that pulley on the engine
Hey guys if you had to choose between keeping a ct200u or a doodlebug which would you stick with?
That's hard for me to say, the CT200s are cool but I never had one. I would think they ride a little better with the bigger tires thougb
@@TheJanticJournal the biggest drawback for me is access to the drum brake. You have to pull the axle, 2 spacers, the rack, a handful of washers and the axle just before getting to it. I pulled the rack off because I was so frustrated with it.
@@TheJanticJournal ruclips.net/video/nFlNAnbcMbQ/видео.html this is ridiculous at any level but a death trap in the woods.
I liked the step by step better
Yeah, it makes for a better video for sure. I just messed up really bad with recording, the next videos on brakes will be back to the step by step format. Thanks for the input!
What transmission do you use
Peerless 700s with minor modifications
i really wanna buy one of the mowers that you have already built in the corner will you sell one or not???? thanks for your time love the videos!!!!
Looks nice and basic and reliable. Great video check out the few lawnmower videos I have on my channel.
Thanks! You guys do some crazy stuff over there lol
@@TheJanticJournal hey what better to do in a small town of 500 people.
When is part 6
I know it's been too long, I swear I'm actually editing it at the moment. It's on brakes and should be up by tomorrow
TheJanticJournal no worries I was just wandering I actually just watched it and I was looking forward to it because I’m building one along with you😂
I wish my race mower look like yours look at my videos till me what you think about it
Hi I’m 12 I like u toke lawn mower racing I have a mower with a 20.5hp it will reach a top speed of 100kmh they are dangerous machine
I also have a idea take the rear end out and weld the spider gears so they won’t turn it will drift like crazy
And for more speed take the pully off a regular lawn mower rear end the huge one and put it on the front and for the back take a electric motor pully and put a 20hp engine the mower will hit 120kmh easy
Insane Gaming what
First
