    I like the black wheels on Blue Sky High! I think they go well with the black accents/accessories BSH has, and i can take or leave the chrome on Lil' Yella... I like them enough that I think laziness would win me over imo.

    On dry rocks without much dust debris ruptures are unbeatable…..holds can’t compete like that, but throw in just a little trail debris ok w needles etc ruptures stick to that too and take it along and the holds start shining.
    In my opinion and just running my ruptures with guys who have holds.

    I ordered a set of the Hold tires after your “review” video. I hope they work well for my truck.

      I don't think you'll be disappointed. I stand by my recommendation on the foams as well-- try them with the included foam, ignoring how hard they feel. They really, really work. Nothing about The Holds makes sense to me. Foam is too stiff, tread blocks are too uniform, carcass is too squared-off. But here we are. They grip like Ruptures.

      I have holds on my Ecto and LOOOOOOVE them. I think the ecto is to light of a truck for the stock foams so i went with something softer, I also play in the water cuz I trail with my rigs so I seal my tires too.

    Really cool to see these side by side. The lugs feel like they have some structure to them and leverage on the tire carcass. I wonder if that's why the stiffer foams seem to be working with this tire? That's just a WAG

    I mounted mine backwards it seems. I am new to crawling and just mounted these to some nice looking SST wheels for my Capra, which I have yet to even run. Looks like I get to turn all my tires around now so I look like I know what I am doing.

      @@CrawlerCanyon You know, I was just taking the wheels off and was thinking I had to take apart the rims. Then it hit me, just swaps sides. I had an old man moment for sure but at least I didn't take anything apart. Had a heck of a time getting the new SST wheels off the hex. Maybe I have the wrong hubs. Thank you for that comment though. Great community here.

    👋 hello I will choose regular ecto! Without dig unit or 4ws..

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  2 года назад

      Lil' Yella got better every time I made it less Ecto. Convert to servo-on-axle, better. Gearbox swap, better. Ditch the trailing arms for 4-link, better. Replace the Ecto body, better. It's an element now with about 3% Ecto content, and would drive circles around any... let's say... "unmodifed" Ecto.

    • @user-6tfvk70k78
      @user-6tfvk70k78 2 года назад

      @@CrawlerCanyon yes I know your projects. I'm not a fanboy of ecto and staying with stock units. IMHO using the dig unit or 4ws it's just like you are cheating in the game. I would say make your truck as scale as possible. IMHO. Which gearbox did you put on it? I thought that steal x one of the best ⚙️

    • @V8chump
      @V8chump 2 года назад

      My only issue with dig/4ws is the weight they add. It’s much better to have the lightest vehicle possible while nailing your front to rear weight bias. Using brass low and gutting everything else seems to be the way to go… now when it comes to complex specific courses dig/ 4ws might help

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  2 года назад

      @@V8chump I don't subscribe to the ultralight philosophy. I think too little weight is as bad as too much, only the margin of error gets a lot tighter as the weight drops. The MST here is just a bit over 6lbs, and almost two pounds of that is the wheels/tires. But guys building 3lb rigs? I don't get it. Not my bag.

      I declined a captain position on Team Lazy, too much work. But I definitely went that route. I re-seated the tires for Yella on the chrome, and the tires will all stay as-is.
      For now.

      From your lips to god's ears, I hope. I mean, I already have a set of almost every crawler tire they make, and the only crawler bodies I'm missing are the '79 F250 and the '70 C10, but I could always use you know, more. If more companies would offer $35 crawler bodies, I'd branch out. But I'm not dropping $100 on a shell. the Bittydesign GT body on my Limitless wasn't a hundred bucks, and it's the size of a coffee table.

    the hold is crap copy of RC4WD Interco Super Swamper 1.7" TSL/Bogger "Siped" Scale Tire . in order to get a cut bogger to work you need beadlocks with super soft foams . printed squibs work the best .

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  2 года назад +3

      The Hold is exceptionally grippy, and from what I'm told, destroys the Boggers. The included foams-- which are quite firm-- work remarkably well. They're probably 90% as good as Ruptures, and are actually better for dig.
