- This music doesn't bother anyone. Andy Schumm, cornet and surprises; Stephane Gillot, Matthias Seuffert, reeds; Kristoffer Kompen, trombone (often out of range but invaluable); Martin Seck, piano; Spats Langham, banjo; Malcolm Sked, string bass; Josh Duffee, drums. Recorded on November 3, 2013, at the Whitley Bay Classic Jazz Party by Michael Steinman for JAZZ LIVES (www.jazzlives.w...).
Sounds just great way out east!!!! NH
Great hot jazz as it should be played!
GREAT !! Thanks for posting that.
The banjo player looks like Eddie, Eddie lives, great stuff.
Eddie would have loved this, as a old trombone player I would have liked to hear the trom without the mute, that's all folks.
Wonderful!!

What is this instrument?
That is a homemade instrument, made famous by the singer Red McKenzie. It is a common pocket comb wrapped in tissue paper or newspaper, through which one can buzz a melody -- think of a kazoo -- and in the right hands, it is as hot as a cornet.
