- The farmland out to the West of Saxilby has been agricultural for many years, and for a lot of those years the farms and farmland have belonged to Manor Farm in the hamlet where we find the centre of todays parish. Yes, the Williamsons might be the landowners out here, but there's much more to this place than just the farm.
You can access the Fossdyke here, the same canal that we saw in the Saxilby video, albeit a little less picturesque at this point along its course. Nonetheless, there are still some fabulous fishing spots along it here.
To access the village from Saxilby you have to drive past one of the two fields that harbour the Saxilby Nature Project - a scheme set up by a couple from North Hykeham to encourage nature conservation in the area. Together with Ingleby Clay, the other field, the Scrub is a lovely little reserve that many would not know about.
Aside from the farms there's also a joiner and cabinet maker living out here in a hamlet that has a population of less than 100. You cannot deny that this one is small, but it makes no difference to TVI. There's no parish noticeboard, so I have to improvise, and there's no amenities of note either. This is not a problem.
Big or small, I'll cover 'em all. This is HARDWICK.
