When you said, "I think I'm gonna have a hard time picking a Children's and Middle Grade," I laughed (and internally cried) because, well... one of the dumbest decisions Goodreads has ever made. Simply nonsensical and slightly rage-inducing.
Same!! I’m so upset about it, I’ve always used those categories to help me pick out books for my nieces for Christmas presents!! 😢
I'm so salty about them kicking out Children's, Middle Grade and Poetry. It's ridiculous.

I feel like booktok has ruined the Goodreads awards. Since it's based on number of reads, not quality/reviews. I used to use the awards to add to my tbr, now they're just whatever went viral. There's gaining popularity from being a great book and gaining popularity as a trend and I think the distinction's important.

Omg I love the concept and the strong start this vlog kicked off with! My favorite feature film of the year. Wouldn’t it be fun if next year, you chose a book from each category in a variety of methods (polls, stats, Rob chooses, book friend with most/least in common, us, etc!?!?)

Haven’t finished watching yet but had to pop in to applaud this 3-way split screen transition 👏 it’s so aesthetic and vibe-y without being time consuming. I love this edit. Kayla, I need you to know that in my 9th grade mythology unit, I apparently thought Clytemnestra was a great name and I put it on my "future baby names" list. I think everyone should be thankful I don't want kids.
I don’t want kids but once considered Elphaba
Clytemnestra would be a very bold name, she is a very powerful woman in the myths, one of the few to ever defy the status quo. I don't think it would be a bad name at all, it would make a statement.

I really liked this spin on 'reading the Goodreads choice awards nominees.' This is the type of challenge I'd be more likely to do, rather than being a completionist for one category + I got to write down a few titles for my TBR
honestly the most important thing with these vlogs is to enjoy yourself, and seeing what people gravitate towards is quite fun! so personally if you do the same thing next year I'll be watching

I love following you! It is so interesting to me how different yet similar our reading tastes are. I don't read any horror or thriller. My new absolute favorite is the Romantasy genre. I do agree that the titles get a little crazy with how similar they are. I also read Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Fairies because of your book club and absolutely loved it!
