So excited for a new entry in the hobby series! I’m wondering if you ever end up falling down the fiber arts rabbit hole. Crochet is the typical gateway with that one. 😂

Also for the future: you can use acrylic varnish instead of resin! No mask or stirring needed :D And then you can get different gloss levels.

I didn’t even think of this! I suggested Hard Coat Mod Podge and gel medium, but I love that the gloss is buildable with acrylic varnish.

Fun fact: after watching you cross-stitching, I was so impressed by your work that I decided to give it a try myself. Surprisingly, I fell in love with it and still doing it regularly to this day as my main hobby. In fact, I started an ambitious project of covering an entire wall of my living room with my cross-stitch work. Needless to say, I'm obsessed with this series. And you are a true influencer :)

Please try stamp making - its so easy and has a lot of uses (wrapping paper, journaling, packing, making cards, etc.)
If you wanna try making stuff shiny, sculpey makes glaze that’s available at Michael’s (there are different finishes and it dries faster than resin).

I started doing stained glass this year and you don’t need as much space as you might think. I do most of mine on my desk that I also use when I’m working - just push all that to one end. Although you probably would end up buying lots of pretty glass and other tools that you need to find somewhere to put!

Hi, just came on here to make sure someone said you can varnish the ceramic instead of using resin. I am originally from Mexico and we normally use varnish because it gives that finished look without changing the piece and it's a lot quicker. I liked how you used resin, I hadn't really thought of it as an option. But for the Honeycomb tic-tac-toe a varnish would have worked to contrast the resin in the honey. Very impressed with everything! Nice work

    Knitting.
    But, some caveats:
    Buy good yarn.
    Buy good needles.
Find an easy pattern, useful pattern that will still be useful if you mess it up, like dishcloths. With dishcloths, you can learn all types of stitches, but it’s still a small attainable project to complete. I’m usually knitting while watching.

I loved doing stained glass in art in high school, but I don’t have the equipment. Maybe when I retire I can back into it. For now I stick to cross stitch.
I love the Jenn McKinlay library lover’s cozy mystery series where they have “crafternoon”.
Just a hint for future projects: the loop tools are good for sculpting. You can carve parts off. It would work to carve out a trough or dip as well. I wonder if a spray lacquer would work for your honeycomb and not be as shiny.
    This looked really fun :-)

Hi! I’m currently going to pottery classes and definitely share the concept of doing your own thing. Sometimes guidance can be a nuisance more than help 😅. But in my pottery studio at least, unless you ask for it, no one breathes down your neck or even tries to help. The first class, sure, but afterwards it’s a solo ride :) you should try pottery, even if it’s just for a month, so that you could get a feel of it ! It might be worth it or might even push you to get your own stuff

A suggestion for a resin alternative that doesn’t dry tacky: Mod Podge Hard Coat if you want a thick glossy layer or glossy gel medium if you want a glossy layer that isn’t as thick. The only caveat is that Mod Podge doesn’t hold up to water very well. The Hard Coat jar says you can paint furniture and stuff with it, but I wouldn’t if it’s outdoor furniture.

You are soo talented!! Beautiful work 💕 I feel like you would enjoy coloring with Prisma Colored pencils. You color layers of different colors on top of each other and they blend together. There are soo many different blending techniques you can test. You can test different types of paper, find your favorite color book artists and do a dive into how colorists can really change what a picture looks like by the end… eventually you can mix media, colored pencils over water coloring, use gesso so you can paint with acrylics on your coloring pages or just to cover lines on your pages you are trying to recreate… some people even use gold leaf. The more you learn and dive deep into coloring the more addicting it becomes.
