carrot greens are edible, so you can use them in soup, but actually carrots with the greens still on will be less fresh at the store than ones with them cut off, because the greens will keep sucking the life out of the carrot after it's been picked, so they go soft and lose flavor a lot faster than the ones that have had the greens removed after harvesting
Definitely true. But it's less that its "sucking the life" and more that the leaves continue to transpire, so without the root (the carrot) being watered there is a net loss of moisture, thus they'll go floppy and soft much quicker.
I learn something new everyday.THANK YOU!!! makes sense and I'm sure feels like common sense, I had just never thought about it before. So Thank you for leading me to think about something from a different perspective.
I've been using that exact onion pot for quite a while. Cling film obviously works as well but the pot is just more convenient and probably less wasteful when you end up with half an onion a lot.
I don't remember if there were instructions on it telling you to use it cut side down but it's how I'm using it at least. I also leave the peel on if I know from the beginning I'm not using all of the onion.
That bag holder seems useful. Might even work better if you'd roll the bag over couple of times (which is good idea anyway so the seal stays clean) so the grabby-bits would have thicker material to hold to.
Microplane is a brand and they are usually the higher quality items of the sort, thus being a bit more pricy. The correct term is a "grater" lol. But we use microplane interchangeably like "Kleenex" etc.

Funny that most hand held garlic presses also have slicers in them as well plus it’s easier with the extra leverage and all. What was funny is how Barry tipped it over to get the slices out when the whole concept is to lift it up!😂
The holographic things on the flyaway blades tricks flies into thinking there's a spiderweb near the food... at least that's the logic. Same thing that happens when you hang a ziplock bag full of water with a new penny inside on your porch to keep flies from going in your house.
My fave had to be the baby chopper it was not only cute but useful and doesn't necessarily need to be in the mini brands kitchen but yes the garlic roller was shocking but chopper cute!!
I don’t know if you remember these or not if they were even a thing over there in Europe, but over here in the US, they had some thing called a ped egg. It was actually originally made to smooth a persons feet, but I actually got one and I use it as my zester it’s perfect for that, the thing is way bigger than the yellow and white thing.
As far as the onion gadget goes many years ago, i bought similar things shaped like onions, bell peppers and whatnot and they worked quite well when i lived on my own and didn't need to use a whole onion/pepper. They definitely kept them more fresh for days and protected them if they got knocked around in the fridge.
Barry the fly thingy literally just moves air and prevents flies from getting close to the foods, and "reaching over stops the blades" just means when you reach over the blades wont hurt you they "stop" or slow down again with out hurting anyone.
In the carrot/hummus pot: Philadelphia Cream Cheese (optionally the Veggie or any other less-sweet variant) & bagel chips, Club Crackers, Doritos, pretzel rods.
We use these all the time in New Zealand. Put them on the table or when we are outside to stop flies landing on the food. It's good because you can grab food
The best juicer I've found for someone with hand issues is an old fashioned glass one, cause you can use your weight on the top of the fruit to get all the juice without too much pain. Be sure to put the juicer on a towel, then put one hand on top of the other on the fruit and twist. Works for me, anyway. And put the plastic bag in a large glass, clip an old fashioned clothespin in a couple places over the edge of the bag and glass. Takes up almost no space in drawer, and costs nothing if you already hang your clothes outside.
I had the cantor/hummus container for years. I used it for my children’s lunches when they were at school. I did cheese and meat sticks with a ranch sauce as well as celery and pepper with a dip. I also put little teddy grams and peanut butter or a hazelnut spread. It can be used for anything.
