      Gadget suggestion: Krups Ovomat. Best way to cook eggs, in my opinion. It gets them perfect (no matter what you consider your perfect egg) every time, and only needs a shot glass of water for it.

    You did read the instructions on the ice cube tray. I remember hearing you say you have to twist the tray to loosen the cubes, THEN push the dealie on the bottom.

    • @adamkieffer6827
      @adamkieffer6827 3 года назад +4

      The “pusher” mechanism seem like a gimmick. You have to twist the tray to break the cubes, then hold it with one hand while moving the lever to bump a cube out with that same hand or the other (so possibly two-handed operation?). Or you can twist a regular tray to break the cubes and put it down on the counter and just take one out. Maybe this would be a good solution for someone, but I suspect even those with poor dexterity would do better with a regular tray.

    • @mediaphile
      @mediaphile 3 года назад +6

      Yeah, seems pretty clear you crack them to loosen them, then with it still upright, squeeze the lever to push it up so you can pull it out.

    Congratulations! I live in Sweden, and the Swedes invented the cheese slicer. I come from Finland, and that is a gadget found in practically every Finnish and Swedish home. I have been using them since I was a kid, and I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE WHO HAS CUT THEMSELVES WITH ONE. You are the first! I'm impressed!
    It's like a potato peeler. Practically the same principle. Never heard of anyone cutting themselves with that one either.
    Grater is a whole different discussion.

    Also, the pods are more eco friendly since you’re not using the plastic wrap every time. It’s also more user friendly. Imagine getting the wrap master out of the kitchen cabinet, use it and put it back compared to the pod. It’s just faster and easier.

    The pods are to save from people using reams of disposable plastic wrap that ends up in the environment.

    Your garlic rocker is the best still!! I Love everything in the Barry Lewis veg prep kit, and make far too many chips because the chopper is so easy!!

    That cheese slicer is funny. In Norway they are pretty normal and used daily (usually it's metal though, not plastic)

    We used to have two rabbits, called Roger and Thumper; named after 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' and 'Bambi'. They used to bite when you picked them up, so one day we decided to let them just roam free in the garden because they bit us whenever we tried putting them in the hutch. Rabbits have sharp teeth.

    I commented this on the last banana one but I really think you should try the banana gadget with cucumber and a savoury filling like tuna 😋

    But with the garlic press thingy... you can store it in the fridge so you don’t have to keep peeling garlic - fill the tube & use as needed. 💡🤓

    those pods are definitely significantly better for the environment than the amount of plastic waste (soft plastic at that) you would generate wrapping everything each time

    i always found putting the tray under hot running water for a moment helps to release ice

    When you read the instructions for the ice cube tray, it said to give it a twist before using the buttons to release an ice cube.
