    For putting solids into the dressing bottle, I suggest another hot new revolutionary gadget: the funnel

    • @TamarLitvot
      @TamarLitvot 2 года назад +9

      Works well for liquids and dry ingredients, but chopped veggies are likely to stick and clog up the narrow part. Still, it would be easier to push through as much as possible, and then rinse the rest out of the funnel rather than having to clean up the whole counter.

    A funnel would help with filling the salad bottle. As for the cupcake filler, get a set of 3 varying size ice cream scoops. That's what I use. I use the big one for the large cupcakes, medium one for fairycakes and the smallest is great for making biscuits.

    Mandolines are just scary to use but that one seems ok, I am not sure what "problem" the egg poacher is trying to fix, the cup cake scoop is pretty useless I think and looks like it would be messier to use and harder to clean, the salad dressing bottle is quite handy and while the concept isn't new(we had one in our kitchen when I was a kid in the 60s) it is a good idea limited slightly by whether or not you like the recipes on the bottle.

    Such an horrible loss, I really feel for all his family and friends. I used to have a Lekue microwave grill, I found the sides really difficult to close (I have weak hands), and the sides weren't deep enough so things like cheese from a toastie would spill really easily. But the worst bit was when the red rubber part caught fire/burnt one time I was heating it up. According to their customer services it was because I hadn't got it 100% dry last time I had washed it and it only needed the tiniest bit of water to be trapped under the seal for it to burn the rubber.
    It's a great product in theory but my experience wasn't great.

    I enjoy gadgets videos the most. Don't get me wrong the cooking recipes are fun to watch too, same as the gigantic versions of some foods. The holographic chocolate video however was on another level, that was so great.

    I'd bet 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' doesn't at all feature anyone thinly slicing their vegetables. It looks like a good read.

    Someone please send this poor man a funnel! All these gadgets, but apparently no funnels. That would help with the bottle.

    If you get a clean sheet of paper, you can roll it into a makeshift single-use funnel and change the opening size - would help for things like filling that salad dressing bottle, and you recycle it after. There are canning funnels too but they're fixed size.

    About the first gadget, my mother had something that is safer and quicker, though it needs more time to clean. It's got a horizontal rotary blade (exchangable) moved by a crank und a hopper with a pusher to cut or grate any veggies up the diameter of a medium cucumber...
    Dunno, if they still make those...
