Junna has been in other bands before as other commenters have said. I think until now she had trouble finding musicians who could keep up with her. Now, in Hagane, she is paired with one of the most insane shredders in the world, Sakura. Sakura also writes gorgeous music, and suddenly Hagane are getting a huge amount of attention. Definitely check them out!
JUNNA was founder of GIRLS ROCK BAND KAKUMEI know now as TRIDENT ( with another talented drummer NAGISA) . since mid-spring 2024 she joined HAGANE after the departure in 2023 of the original drummer KANAKO, She is also the deluxe drummer of FATE GEAR when HARUKA ( the official drummer) can't travel overseas. Females rock/metal are little community most of them are friends and very supportive to others bands( no fight between bands in social media or press) HARUNA from LOVEBITES is Friends to AKANÉ from BAND MAID. JUNNA and HARUNA are friends too.
* She just turned 28 this September. * She started playing drums at age 15. She was 24 in this video. * She helped formed her first band while still in High School in 2013 called "Girls Rock Band Kakumei". * That band changed their name after Junna left in 2020 and they are now known today as "TRiDENT". * Junna joined "Hagane" back in April of this year, a 4 piece band of which all 4 members are of the same talent level as Junna. * Junna has been sponsored by Pearl, SABIAN, and REMO for several years now.
Great reaction and Jenna is crazy good (she's maybe 20/21 in this video) subbed for your Band-Maid reaction). I enjoy drum reactions, even thought I don't play drums. I got interested in drummers when I watched a Buddy Rich performance on the Johnny Carson show in 1970. Over the years I've watched a lot of great drummers and with YT get to see drummers reacting to other drummers and providing insights into what they're watching. If you haven't seen her, I've been following a young drummer, Yoyoka, from Japan (and now the U.S.). She's just turned 15 back in Oct. and to my untrained ears is a very good drummer. She won the "Hit's like a girl" competition when she was 8 with her cover of "Good Times Bad Times" and was included in "DrummerWorld" as one of the worlds 500 best drummers at 11 and has steadily gotten better and better. Here's a couple of covers she done if you're interested in doing a reaction video (helping the next generation of drummers). For your consideration and hopefully a reaction: When she was 10 - Toto - "Rosanna" -ruclips.net/video/6P-tTLmuKo0/видео.html When she was 10 - Rush - "YYZ" - ruclips.net/video/lGETWi1QufE/видео.html When she was 11 - Deep Purple - "Burn" - ruclips.net/video/uhzX9QbH3js/видео.html When she was 13 - Led Boots - ruclips.net/video/IrQpzUec004/видео.html At her 15th birthday/first full album release party with her friend Ai Furusato (she just turned 13 and was admitted to Berkeley Music School as the youngest ever) - they composed this song -"Changes" ruclips.net/video/1QxIPGyni60/видео.html
If you want another really fun high energy performative Asian woman drummer, check out Hana from Gacharic spin. She switched to guitar a while ago as she plays all the things, but she's great fun on drums. Gacharic Spin - Hana's drum solo 2018 ruclips.net/video/Y_cJ5blfQmc/видео.html More Junna performances are always welcome obviously as she is so much fun :D
She didn't start playing drums until she was 15. She just turned 28 in September. This video being 4 years ago means she had only been playing drums for 9 years at the point she filmed this. Here is a copy / paste from her interview with "The All Japan Show" below: 👇 Q : When did you start to play drums ? And what was the reason ? JUNNA : I started playing drums when I was 15. I was originally in charge of percussion in a brass band, and I wanted to start playing more. So, I spoke with my father about the opportunity to play drums. Then, with my dad, I got hooked on playing drums in a nearby studio.
