Just another Friday night in the Philippines lol. Seriously, these folks are super talented. I love how music just naturally flows through the Filipino people.
I was a young single professional during the 80s when that song became a hit, I believe in 1980. I came from the Philippines to Chicago and that song reminds me so poignantly of the best memories I had with friends when we hit the disco scenes in Chicago on weekends. We worked hard so we also played hard and the nightlife in Chicago didn't disappoint. Thanks for introducing me to this cover band. YT randomly pushed you to my feed. Appreciate it.
❤❤❤ this song + Careless Whisper was big in the 80s I believe... that was way before my time but THANK you for the lore!!!! Hello to folks from Chicago from Texas!!!
I happen to come across your channel. It’s 2:50 am here in NJ and couldn’t sleep. Love this type of jazz music. Love this group Fab Jazz. Thanks for your reaction to this Filipino jazz band.
Hello a good day bro! Thank you very much for granting my request along with maybe others who recommends, this "Two of us" was a Groover Washington orig.. pls. dig in further to this band they have still more to offer !!! By the way I'm Don fr Ph. Fab Jazz is from Glasshouse coffee bar from Davao City, And here's what they've accomplished with no update: There isn't much info about a Fab jazz band in the Philippines right now, but here's some info about the band Fab!: Debut album: That's the Kinda Girl was released in 1997 on Break Records. Most successful song: "Turn Around" was on the UK chart for three weeks, reaching number 59 in 1998. Record deal: The band was about to sign a major record deal in the United States and was meeting with executives from five record companies, including Sony. 🥂🎺🎷🎻🎸🎹🎶🎵
Hi Don! I see you're a regular on my channel now, THANK YOU :) I think the Fab Jazz band is probably still new so that's why there's no info, but I appreciate you putting a random fact for a random band with a similar name 🤣
and I go by Tom, not many will know that name bc I only disclose it in comment and not in the video, just to see how people frequent the comment section :)))
OMG IM PROUD OF YOU BRO.ARNOLD on DRUMS and HIS SON on VOCALS JC, And the rest of BAND, AMAZING ….. THANKS DRUM ROAST FOR THIS REACTION VIDEOS 👍🏼❤️🙏🏼 HOPE MY BROTHER PLAYS MORE
@ you’ve mentioned that in one of your post.. some I guess would somehow get hard of hearing or muffled one but really I was growing up with musicians who played so loud and are close to each other but didn’t seem to bother them when the next generation took over.. If you look for more PH music scene seldom you see them wearing in ears.. I’m amazed Missioned Souls have it.. have you checked that mob musicians gathered in hundreds? Or ask the OG’s who frequent Club Dredd and the like you’d have to shout to talk to each other bwhaha
@@DrumRoast Playing live without in-ears kind of help them play off the energy and the vibe of each other. That's from watching quite a lot of live bands back in the day. Not talking about live concerts, coz they'll have proper IFB/ foldback monitors or in-ears. I'm talking about those from intimate venues like bars, restobars, band rehearsal studios, auditorium, a house jam, even in a garage... or basically any small to medium closed spaces. At the least, a lot of them might probably be suffering now from a case of the tinnitus in varying degrees. 😉
Want to really support this Filipino band? Promote the bands socials, donate directly to them. Reaction video is great and all, but this is only one way profitary for the video. ✌️ Happy holidays!
oh yeah, since you might be on a cover band rabbit hole. i mentioned gigi in another videe. gigi de lana..... and the gigi vibes. yes i know it's not really a drumming focused suggestion...but... this band... if you haven't heard of them, they blew up during covid. and they take requests and cover the songs. but there's one particular song that made me go crazy after hearing it. it's Fly Me To the Moon - Squidgame OST. they killed that one... you might have heard of Fly Me to the Moon..and frank sinatra...but trust me, you haven't heard their version of it! SO GOOD! you'll be like wait is this the right song??? 🤣🤣
yes sir added to my list (Idk if it was you that requested or someone else requesting the same song) but I am beyond excited to revisit the PH with Gigi Vibes :)))
yes sir I got MANY requests I'm trying to do 1 pass of all the Filipino drummers before I repeat drummers :) thank you so much for the request though! I can only do on demand requests through $1/month memberships because of the request volume I've gotten recently LOL sorry!!!
Sounds very tight. World-class musicianship. Now they got the music down, if they could just all stand up, except of course the drummer maybe the keys, and bop along, if not choreographed moves, and take care of the visuals. It's actually harder to play sitting down and looks lazy and timid. You gotta "rock star" it.
SIR you got it right on...I think in certain Asian cultures they just prefer sitting down (probably either a long recording session or many of them are getting old...which I sympathize for)...on stage you gotta stand up like you said!!!
Yeah, an orchestra should stand up, sitting down just makes them look lazy, and they should have choreographed moves like a marching band, now that will be some visuals.
My God you talk excessively throughout this whole song i had to stop it with all the interruptions it became impossible to listen to and ruined the performance. You did the same thing on the Indonesian band and i could not finish it.
lol i'm like the other dude. i'm just binging everything you're posting lol. i dont need to look for it but all i gotta do is just click 🤣🤣thanks bro
damn I appreciate you man this is extremely motivating...this means a lot to me!!!!
Just another Friday night in the Philippines lol. Seriously, these folks are super talented. I love how music just naturally flows through the Filipino people.
one of my favorite countries to react to in terms of drummers/live music so far!!!
So damn good, the rhythm the pace, all played well. The bass slap, the sax, the drums, the piano and the rest made it flawless.. Wow!
bass slap yes lord!!!
