  • Why did the first officer of Egypt Air flight 990 allow his plane to plunge and crash into the Atlantic, on October 31, 1999? Ominously, the cockpit voice recorder captures his final words-which he repeats several times.

      There's plenty of heartbreak beyond that. We lost two friends on Egypt Air 990 for the simple reason they wanted to see Egypt. The financial cost for their survivors was horrific and their deaths are still mourned in Durango, Colorado, where they had lived.

    • @krashd
      @krashd Год назад +20

      It's well known that the pilot crashed the plane on purpose because he was being investigated for sexual harassment and had been demoted in the airline, on top of that the guy who demoted him was a passenger on the plane. Because of his high stature and the fact he was once in the Egyptian military the Egyptian investigators refused to admit the obvious out of fear of embarrassing Egypt so chose to completely humiliate the country instead by arguing with the highly respected NTSB and making Egyptians look incompetent and stupid in the global press by putting forward all sorts of idiotic excuses as to why the plane crashed.
      Everyone who has ever studied the crash has said it was obvious that Al-Batouti crashed the plane, he had the motive and all of the evidence supports it. The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) has the final say on cause and so the cause is attributed to a damaged component, but the NTSB have stated that as nonsense, since it was proven that the component in question was only damaged by the extreme forces on the plane as it dove in to the sea, they attribute the crash to malicious intent on behalf of the pilot.

    For those who don't understand how it happened, (even though you should) basically the first officer in the black shirt purposely crashed the plane to get revenge. He was going to be demoted and was scolded by the pilot before the takeoff. This made him extremely mad. He kept saying the phrase "I rely on god" constantly as he controlled the plane and sent it into a nose dive. He didn't want to face his consequences for what he had done before so he decided to take his life... along with 216 others. R.I.P to the passengers and other crew who perished in this incident.

      Everyone knows what happened, Egypt just won’t accept it. He was told he would no longer be allowed to fly the popular route Egypt-US due to his predator behavior to young girls and women in US hotels. Then, he had to fly back home with all his coworkers on a long flight. This is extremely demoralizing. From his personal habits and way of treating others he obviously was a little off

      It doesn't make sense at all and it's pathetic how many people buy the "official" narrative. There were 33 Egyptian officers on board that plane including two generals, all of whom were returning from training with the U.S. military. The plane was deliberately targeted for this reason. You will never see this listed as an official cause. You have to dig for the info.

    I believe suicide is primarily an act of cowardice. I hold nothing against those who commit that act though. I simply believe they had much more awaiting them, but they decide to simply chicken out before seeing it through. Except people who take even one life with them. That I consider terrorism regardless of if they are allied with an organisation or not. To me any act of war is terrorism.

    It wasn't the pilot's fault. This was just a cover for the builder. I remember this. Some Boeing 767 aircraft were grounded after this accident. The same elevator problem on all. Money matters more than the trooth. The engines were shut off as a measure in order to slow down the plane. His ideea, who knows... but not the reason of the crash. At such speed no plane would have stalled. The man was praying and maybe overpassed by the situation and shocked. He was alone in the cockpit and this might have been horible in this situation.

    • @kathleeneparker98

      They were grounded because for 2 or 3 days, there were simply no answers, beyond a fishing boat that saw the plane hit the water. IT IS THE REASON for the crash, though motivation might have been air terrorism.

      So according to your one liner it’s pretty conclusive that this was pilot suicide. Thanks.
      Let me remind you of Flight 811 where the cargo doors flew open and passengers lost their lives.
      The official report was fudged for commercial reasons, until Mr and Mrs Campbell stole those documents and discovered the truth. Their son had died a gruesome death.
      As a result many lives were saved in future flights.
      Learn to question authority, they have ruined many lives.
      The crucial mechanisms in the tail plane were faulty and were found in other planes.
      This documentary was drama and possibly funded by interested parties. It happens.
