I press down too much on my back and it makes it hard for me to get ahold of my driver. So just today I decided to back off standing taller and letting the club hang off the ground. Bombs all day.
Tom, Thank you & thank you for simplifying the golf swing. I've incorporated some of these fundamentals and they are working. Not every day, but choir several years now, I have been trying to move from the mid 80's to shooting rounds in the 70's. I have had 4 rounds this year in the 70's by simplifying my swing. In addition, I shot a career low of 74 in the spring. I still need that consistent contact, but some of my own problems are between the ears. Thanks again for the channel and the help!
I have tried your golf tips and j am hitting the balls a whole lot better. Iam still working on my driver consistency - work in progress. haha Keep up the good work. Thanks for your videos.
@@andrefecteau I find it curious that your students venturing elsewhere for their lb of beef???... Anyway, I thought you might enjoy a short but representative smattering of what they're saying over here in the gimmick-free zone (aka "the dark side"....) Cheers!! Timothy Connolly: Hey Tom, i love your videos and they all have helped my game. You told me to grab the stack and tilt book... Home run!!! I also appreciate that you respond to jokes...thats gold. I went from a 3.2 to 1.3 in 2 months. Can you give me info for the online lessons. I feel bad for just snaking the stuff off RUclips. Darrin O: Tom , have to share this with you. 4 months ago I was so frustrated with my game. It really doesn’t matter what level you play at. For me . Sitting at a 10.5 index and never improving for many many years. I am just too competitive and wanted to quit. I literally stumbled across your RUclips videos one evening. It sparked my interest. I tried your stack and tilt method with of coarse a little humour included , haha. The results were almost instantaneous. The power , the ball flight and the trajectory was new and exciting. Just wanted to tell you I’m at a 2.5 index today. All Time Low at age 53. Never felt better about the game. For all you recreational golfers out there , like me ,, this instruction is Real !! Thanks Saguto golf. Mike Stock: As a new student of Tom's I'd be lying if I didn't say I've been struggling lately with the swing changes. When I implement Tom's concepts on the range I hit the ball fairly well. It's been a challenge to forget 32 years of swing habits on the course. When any doubt creeps in my body desperately wants to revert to lift and chop. When Tom says it's going to feel weird he's not kidding. I feel like I'm swinging around my ankles and standing on my left leg only. So after firing a 49 on the front 9 Sunday I decided to really focus on the concepts and trust the weirdness. I shot a 40 on the back and I've broken through the barrier. I can feel when my practice swing is perfect and when it's reverting. I can't say thank you enough Tom. Joe Stuart: A playing partner who is a subscriber of yours, has been changing his swing for the better using Tom's swing technique and his golfing tree is now bearing fruit. The accurate shots are peppering the pins, his drives are better and overall very hard to beat him. I came across Tom and Saguto Golf by accident, I commented to my playing partner that I recognized his swing when I watched some of Tom's earlier videos. He stated he had been watching everything Tom put's out. I will be making the changes when I get time to go to the driving range, SagutoGolf works having seen the results, will it work for me, only time and practice will tell. Thanks for the content and great delivery Tom, you’re a star. Ron S.: Been watching your videos for awhile now. Shot 78 yesterday, first time breaking 80 since August 2018. I missed inside 5 feet birdies on 15 and 16 so could have been lower. Anyone watching your videos, if they take the time and practice, it comes to you to change your game. Don’t rush it, be patient, it will pay off. Mark Matthews: Tom has totally transformed my swing- with a SIMPLE swing. I have made so much progress in just 30 days. I never hit it far before. I do now! And not from just wailing on it, more from just making pure, crisp, KFC contact on the ball. His simple short game course is a game changer too. My only thought now, when I chip, is “how close can o get it?” Chunking, chili dipping, hitting 6 inches behind it- Tom totally eliminated all of that with his simple short game course. I am enjoying golf more than ever, at 62, thanks to Tom. Keep it coming Tom!! Whack the crap outta that ball!!! steve perry: tom, this is the swing i've been looking for. i call it the fool proof swing, in that i don't have to hit a large bucket of balls before i play to find my swing, it seems that simple. i just set and for get it and the most important thing for me to remember is stay centered and a bit left. other than that it's easy to perform. thnx for the help RAH Capital : well its coming together. after years of ageing and giving up on getting better, I am ripping the ball like I was when I was 25. I havent had 2 birdies in a round in 15 years, yesterday I had 3 birdies in 6 holes and lipped out a 6ft eagle putt on a 540yd par 5(tee ball ripped over tree line to 180, over the lake and inside 10ft for the eagle putt) I woke up the next day without a single bit of pain or soreness in my back or gut. Tom Saguto has made golf fun again. you are a legend my friend. thank you (will be at Caledonia next month, would love to shake your hand!) 57beachboy : Tom, my story is similar to yours in one way...The very next day after watching two of your swing videos I started hitting the ball "crispy". I couldn't believe it. Actually, I could believe it! I just knew after watching your videos THIS WAS GOING TO WORK. I'm 51 years old and my entire life I've hit behind the ball. Only when I was really young, in my teens maybe, or earlier 20's, do I remember actually hitting the ball somewhat solid. But even then I was inconsistent. I could never break 80. It was so hard to put together a solid round of golf. But I knew, I just knew after watching you describe THIS SWING one night recently that the next day it was going to work. AND IT DID!!!! And this was just a few days ago. I just took two days off to help my buddy with some work but I can't wait to get back to the range tomorrow and later in the day get out on the course to see this new swing of mine in action. The amazing thing is, the result was immediate for me!!!! All I needed was someone, YOU, to explain things properly. I've heard of STACK & TILT obviously before, but I really never looked into it. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU DO. You make it so much fun to learn, even for a young 51 year old golfer like me. I've never been so excited to go practice and play golf. I firmly expect to be hitting in the 70's in no time. And I really believe that in time, after getting through more videos and training I could hit under par sometime. The concept is that good. So amazing. Thank you brother!
i find the stack & tilt swing a lot simpler action to perform consistently. i could never get the body turn type swing to work well for me. i do get some pressure change in the feet but not to much and try to stay more centered and left while the arms swing more up and down in a slot in front of the chest
@dgmickley - I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad to know that my instruction has benefited your swing - and your resulting enjoyment of this great game - to such an extent!! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!! It sounds like a single-digit handicap is in your very near future!! Stay crispy, my friend! Tom
@Tracy Daniels - As @paulish22 stated, I have been teaching S&T for quite some time. The accomplished objective of my recent trip to the S&T instructor academy was to hone my technical skills by furthering the depth of my swing knowledge. (One of the great things about this game is that - regardless of whether we are student or teacher - we are endlessly driven to keep learning in our ongoing quest for improvement!) I firmly believe that this advanced level of continuing education sharpens my abilities as an instructor to the ultimate benefit of my students' lasting success and enjoyment! Cheers! Tom
I am 78 3/4 years of age now. Your story is very impressive. I have been playing golf over 45 years with my score ranges of 86~98. I long wanted to become a member of 70s club (golfers who play with strokes 79 or below 79 per 18 holes) but I gave up my hope as I already became old. But one day, while I was watching a Utube golf lesson program, A funny and happy guy who speaks "a very easy to listen, beautiful" American English appeared in another Utube screen. It was YOU, Mr. Tom Saguto and You were talking about swings joyfully quoting the theories physics and geometry. You theory attracted me a lot and I instantly fell in love with you. This is what I long long wanted theory and practice. You encouraged me a great deal and I decided to challenge the AGE SHOOTER. Now, all parts of my body have been aching, so many parts that have never been aching during my 45yeas of golf. I enjoy small aches and become happy every day because my scores have been improving. Thank you, Mr. Saguto. I will someday visit you and receive lessons from you!!!!!
That is fantastic!! 💪💪 I am very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play!! With your commitment and work ethic I am certain you will achieve your goal!! By the way, you may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ That is where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner. You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought. Thanks so much for your very kind words and for sharing your improvement, and keep up the great work!! Tom
LOL!!! Thanks for staying up late with me, G MAC!!! I'm very glad to know that the instruction on my channel has benefited your game!! Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work, and get some sleep!!.......😆 Tom
It has certainly changed my game. It is different and I’ve worked hard on my game….makes it tough to make such a change. I totally agree how any “different “ swing theories have been marked with some stigma and a hex. Cannot change the past, but sure looking forward to the future! Hitting a flush golf shot on a course is sooooo much fun…..it’s a thing of beauty with any club!
Thanks for sharing your S&T experience and validating this fantastic swing system with your ball striking improvement and resulting enjoyment! Keep it flush, keep it crispy!! 💪💪 Tom
Tom, Craig and I saw you last week at Litchfield for a few hours. I’m a convert. Only use stack and tilt if you want simplicity and better ball striking in your golf swing. Beware - this might improve your golf. Distance will improve when you learn to regularly hit the ball first. I’m one club longer when properly executed. I can “let it go” from the backswing position that stack and tilt gets you into. Craig and I had a great time with you, and laughed a lot. Thanks, JD
I once saw a video where a well known golf instructor (won’t mention his name because I believe in HARMONy). The instructor was teaching hitting out of a sand trap. He had a random person come into the bunker and asked that person to hit. The man took a practice swing and hit the ball cleanly out of the bunker landing close to the hole. The instructor, clearly irritated, said you gave us the illusion golf is EASY. Well! It is! People! Watch Tom! Please. He will change your golfing life. I’ve improved in just two weeks. This guy is awesome! Seriously! It is easy Mr. H! Kudos to you Tom!
LOL! I try not to say "easy" because this game certainly is anything but that, however I am all about trying to simplify and demystify swing instruction and the learning process!!... I really appreciate your kind words and I'm very glad the instruction on my channel has helped your game so quickly!! Thanks for your support and keep up the great work!! Tom
It was about this time last year, after many years of playing going anywhere from a 6 handicap to 12 over the last few years, I was at a point of making excuses not to play. My game was an inconsistent mess. Then I found your channel and Nick Taylor. Completely gave me a new outlook on the game. In the last 10 months, I’ve dropped my handicap by 3. And it’s all thanks to not only S&T but how both of you present easy to follow lessons and drills. I’ve won one tournament this year and came in second in another and have more rounds in the 70s than in the last 3 yrs combined.
That's fantastic, Ron!!! Congratulations on your success and newfound enjoyment of this great game! Nick is a great instructor, and I'm very glad to know that you have benefited to such an extent from integrating our respective teaching styles to hone your swing!! Well done! Thanks very much for sharing and keep up the great work!! Tom
I love Tom's goofy sense of humor. The combination of that and clear, simple instruction has changed my attitude toward the game. I haven't gotten to a point where I am consistent with this swing but I know it's coming and, most importantly, I have confidence that my practice will yield results. Heck, I even went out and bought new golf clubs. I can't thank Tom enough for making the game fun for me again. I have almost eliminated the "truly terrible shots" from my rounds. I'm certain that consistently getting under 90 is close (I'm currently in the 92-95 range, down from low 100s-high 90s and haven't even started working on my putting and short game yet). I'll let you know when I break 80!
That's *awesome,* Whitney!! 💪💪 I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play. By the way, if you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? Hi Jonathan, I'm very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited your game to such an extent!! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!! Tom
I first want to say thanks, I've been dialed into your videos for the last 3 weeks. In truth it wasn't really working, however when you have a type of swing which I do (very long and too much hands) my game was always inconsistent. Yesterday I watched your short video on Hogan's magic elbow and the tip for tucking your back elbow into your body. Well, the results were astounding. I swung the club better, had center contact and the ball simply jumped off the club (adding 10-15 yards with my irons, the direction was also much more consistent. It took me a couple of whole for my driver but I starting pushing it right which likely means it simply needs to be move up in my stance slightly. I want to thank you again for the tips, help. Teaching. I now feel that making good contact with the ball is easy if you have a repeatable swing. It's been a long while where i walked off the course and felt like I was starting to wail on the ball and didn't have any embarrassing scores . Contact first, direction second and eventually touch. I feel that I'm on my way back to playing g in the mid low 80s like I should and who knows maybe even break 80 at some point. Can't say thank ypu enough.
That's awesome, David!! Thanks so much for sharing your improvement - I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating well with you!! Thanks so much for supporting my business with your membership, and stay crispy my friend! I'm certain the 70's reside in your very near future!! Cheers! Tom
I found you during lockdown and wanted to learn to be more consistent, and hopefully fix my awful slice, watched your video on keeping my weight forward, made an instant difference! Still working on getting better and being a consistent striker but I broke 95 for the first time when I used to average 115-120! Keep up the great content!
That's fabulous, Michael!! Such a dramatic improvement is surely a testimony to your hard work in incorporating these lessons into your swing and taking ownership of your game. Congratulations on your success so far; I'm certain there are many more milestones to come in your golfing future!! By the way, have you considered enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school? For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only system for the full swing, the short game, and much more. 10 Handicap golfer, Tried the weight forward , and right elbow in, and noticed significantly better ball striking and around 15 yards difference. Thanks a ton.
It’s almost unbelievable! I’m a nobody but I am a real person and this technique is legit! The elimination of “golf voices” in your head is astonishing. The feel of actually compressing the golf ball on a consistent basis is emotional. Yes, it still takes work and practice BUT, tangible results are virtually immediate and if you stay with it, you can experience real fun in golf. I will be playing in the Costa Mesa City championship in SoCal in August in the over 50 flight and feel I can actually contend. That is a fun goal to have and this discovery has added to my quality of life. Thank you, Tom. I would love to have a burger and a coke with you if you are ever in SoCal, just to personally thank you, golfer to golfer!
That's AWESOME, @Ford Frick!! I'm thrilled to learn of your success and enjoyment through your adoption of this swing system, and I wish you all the best as you gear up for the tournament. Thanks so much for the kind words and for your endorsement of my instruction. Keep up the great work, and most importantly keep having fun out there!! TS
Love hearing your story, and I love Stack and Tilt. I discovered you almost exactly 1-year ago, and at 60-years old I am hitting my irons SO much better than I did when I was 30. My scores have dropped form the high 90s to the mid 80s and I know I have more room for improvement if I can improve my driver swing. I will be on vacay with the family this week at Myrtle Beach, and plan on signing up for your online school when I get back hoping to find some extra yardage and consistency with my driver. We plan on several trips to Murrell's Inlet for some great seafood, and I will tip my hat to you as we drive by Litchfield. My enjoyment of golf has increased 10-fold since learning S and T, and I will NEVER go back to 'shift and lift'!
I appreciate the kind words, Jeffrey, and I'm very glad to learn of your tremendous improvement in both ball striking and scoring!! It's shaping up to be a great week here at the beach, and I hope you and your family have a fabulous time!! Thanks so much for your support in sharing your success and keep up the great work!! Tom
Mr. Saguto, what a great testimonial. Thank you for sharing your revelation. I agree with your perspective. My father has always had consistency issues and has contemplated quitting the game. I’ve done all I can to keep him in the game as we’ve shared some great memories on the golf course. We look forward to watching the great content you’ve produced. I appreciate your enthusiasm for teaching and helping people enjoy golf so much more.
I've been a member of SagutoGolf for this year. I've shot the best rounds ever this year. Standing stacked over the ball was the game changer for me. Lots of range sessions, working closer to the Crispy KFC irons, ever shot. Thanks Tom.
I truly appreciate the kind words, tchornomud - I'm very glad to know that you have benefited from my instruction and that you are now truly enjoying this wonderful game!! But let's be clear - your embracing the process and putting in the necessary time and effort are what have transformed your golf swing. All I did was provide you with a road map to get there!! Thanks for sharing your success, keep up the great work, and stay crispy my friend!! Cheers! Tom
Tom, it is working, stack and tilt. I will be 65 in 1 months playing the best golf in my life this year seeing your videos. Great job. Are you coming to Michigan? You should try to teach a golf seminar in Taiwan. Many people would love to see you. Why? Because I know so. Simple simple swings but hit solid and down. Easier and effortless but longer. Can you imagine it? I am the result of your teaching. I scored my life time best 76/70 and an hole-in-one this year.
@DaiWan郎 - That is some fantastic playing!! I'm thrilled to learn of your dramatic improvement, and I'm very glad to know that my channel's instruction is helping you to such an extent. I've only been playing for about a year now. 42 years old and never taken any lessons. Keeping a slight weight on my front foot and aiming my lead shoulder towards the ball, has extremely helped me. I try not to watch a bunch of training videos but I've stuck with this channel. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Tom!
That's fantastic, Tony!! I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited your game!! Tom, first off I want to thank you. Your instruction saved my golf season this year. I am a 59 year old guy who is in decent physical shape. I have been playing golf for 46 years and all that time been taught wrong. And spent a lot of money with good instructors who tried to contort me like a tour pro. This May after a day of yard work I fell in shower. I have hip and back issues to begin with and although I didn't break my hip, thank God, I was in a lot of pain. It was painful walking for weeks afterwards. During this time I Googled "Old man golf swing" and "body friendly golf swing" which led me to your You Tube videos and channel. There were others as well but I started watching yours. I enjoy your light hearted but serious to the point presentation style. One of the first I watched was the Three Tips video. Where was this all my golf life? So once the hip and back showed signs of improvement I undertook the task to change my swing. As many know, change is hard, those ingrained moves are hard to change over night but I've stuck with it. I am happy to report that my ball striking hasn't been this good in a long time, if ever. Wednesday night I got out on a local course that is very tight. I hadn't got around the front nine without losing a ball this year, 12 rounds worth. Wednesday night was nothing but fairway and a few fist cut lies. Iron shots were some of the best all year. If the greens weren't aerated and top dressed the score would have been the lowest 9 of the year. I had a few putts zig zag a bit on the way to the hole but that's golf. I've always thought myself as a sweeper striker of the ball but since working your methods I've developed consistent 4 inch, or so divots on my strikes. Crispy! If I ever get down to SC it would be great to meet you and have a lesson in person. Thanks again, keep it KFC. Regards, John
Wow John - I truly appreciate your kind words and I am thrilled to know that the instruction on my channel has benefited your game to such an extent!! But let's be clear - your embracing the process and putting in the necessary time and effort are what have transformed your golf swing!! All I did was provide you with a road map to get there!! Thanks so much for sharing your success, keep up the great work, and stay crispy my friend!!! Cheers! Tom PS: Don't tell anyone, but when they aerate the greens down here and they're pretty rough, we'll oftentimes agree to a two-putt maximum until they've healed enough to provide a consistent roll. So based on that I shall gladly recognize this as your lowest score of the year!!
I’m 65 but a fit guy... I have been training to your skills for a month and I am now striking the ball so much better... I love your ideas and I’m going to work onwards with your skills. I’ve signed up to your website too. Thanks Tom ... you’re so crispy 😁
That's great, Andrew - I'm very glad to know that you're ball striking has noticeably improved through this instruction, and I appreciate your support of my online school (which I am confident is really going to help you dial in your swing)!! Thanks again for your kind words, and Keep it Krispy!! Cheers! Tom
Interesting comment Tom. I was buying new clubs a few weeks ago and mentioned I was trying to incorporate the stack and tilt system into my swing. I got jumped on so quickly with negativity and suggestions that was something out of the ark. Will stick with it but I have but a huge issue keeping down from the top of the swing regardless of style. Cheers from down-under
So you're saying that Don from Down Under is have trouble with coming Up Over??...🤔🙂 No problem as this chronic affliction affects the vast majority of amateur golfers. You can search search my channel's downswing playlist where you'll find a number of videos specific to this. Here's the link: ruclips.net/p/PLV62KxT7Mp7Jxi814RQddJx3wkHqxqhio Alternatively - and quite frankly my best suggestion - is that you give some thought to enrolling in my online school. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year it'll get you on the fast track to owning this swing through short, simple, step-by-step videos. Additionally, there is an abundance of content aimed at resolving a variety of swing flaws and ball flight issues, and I also personally answer specific swing-related questions from members. Here's a link if you'd like more info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga. Now, to the other part of your comment..... Don't you find it interesting and perhaps even a bit disturbing - maybe even bordering pathetic - as to just how far some folks will go - and how vehemently polarized they are - when it comes to defending the particular golf swing methodology they happen to embrace, and how their way is the only correct way and everything else - especially the "evil sorcery" of Stack and Tilt - is so absolutely wrong?? After all, we're not talking life and death here; it's about a means of propelling a little ball with a stick towards a hole in the ground! The Stack and Tilt swing model is rooted in physics and geometry, and until those principles and equations are modified by God Himself I'll take comfort in my confidence that it represents an optimal set of motions for accomplishing this task. Beyond my own personal experience, when I look at the overwhelmingly favorable comments from folks across the globe of all shapes, sizes, ages, and handicaps who are benefiting and improving from this instruction and thus enjoying the game more, that confirms everything I need to know! In other words, Don, do not give any credence to the over-opinionated naysayers. Find a swing that works well for you, is repeatable, predictable, powerful, and easy on your body; then embrace it, learn it well, and get out there and have fun playing this great game! I trust and hope that you will find that here, but unlike others I am not going to speak negatively about different methods... Cheers! Tom
Started Saguto Golf earlier this year by watching Saguto's "Tilt Turn and Extend" video out on a whim. I found it to be a little unorthodox from what I had learned from the traditional 2 plane swing but I am a rebel and was hooked. Shortly, I became a Saguto Golf member. As a result, my iron strikes are crispier than KFC, pure, longer and accurate. Many comments from buddies I golfed with this season made complimenting comments to me from "Your golf game has taken a 360° turn for the better!" to "Your iron shots are hot and accurate. I wish I can control my iron distances like you." Compliments of online instructions of Tom Saguto Golf teaching stack and tilt swing method! Still working the driver with consistency and power, however, I went from 190 yards to 220-230 yards and even recorded a 266 yard fairway off the tee. I don't slice as much, if at all, either. Now that I can get the ball on the dance floor, I can focus more on putting. Chipping and pitching, I'm confident and happy with that part of my short game. I was a 18-24 hcp over a year or so ago to now a 13 hcp. I broke 80 in 4-5 rounds this season (78, 79 on a tough course where I usually struggle to break 90 or 100) and currently score a steady mid to low 80's as a norm in which putting practice and technique will have to take over from here. Thank you, Tom! You're an awesome golf swing instructor! 👍⛳🏌️♂️🇺🇸 NOTE: Almost...just almost had my first ace. Pic to prove it.
A couple years ago I took a series of lessons from Golftec. Many aspects of what I learned were very similar to Stack and Tilt (hands in, shoulder down) but it wasn't until I discovered your videos that I learned about weight forward which, for me, was the missing puzzle piece. What a difference that has made in my iron play! Yesterday I had my best round in 6 years and came within 4 of shooting my age (I'm 69.) Your videos and Stack and Tilt have helped make this game so much more fun.
John Pfistner - I truly appreciate your kind words and I am thrilled to learn of the extent that my instruction has benefited your game!! But let's be clear - your embracing the process and putting in the necessary time and effort are what have transformed your golf swing to the envy of your buddies!! All I did was provide you with a road map to get there!! Thanks for sharing your success, and keep up the great work!! Tom PS: That driver distance will continue to improve over time as you grow increasing comfortable with the motions and applying the "wrath". In fact, you may wish to check out the new Power + Distance course in the online school to learn more about the four power accumulators and how to incorporate them into your swing!
Jim Wile, Great job on that 73 - that is just AWESOME!! I'm very glad to learn of your success through this instruction and your resulting increased enjoyment of this great game!! THAT is what this channel and my online school are really all about!! Yes - there are definitely some similarities with GolfTEC instruction, but that missing S&T weight forward component is so critical to maintaining our swing center and achieving a consistent low point that has us hitting the ground in the same place every time - a true fundamental of the swing! Keep it Krispy!! Tom
Sensei - Day 3 of exploring Saguto Golf - yup, really enjoying the lessons but also the logic and language used to explain the concepts! Still warming up with a semi baseball swing and then hitting about 30 half shots (could stick with that if I only wanted distance). So happy to hear you say there is no “one way” traffic, that stances, grips etc are personal not “non negotiable” - have a Scottish friend who hits hits his 8 iron 210 yds and driver 350 - with a draw and an open stance! His creed - weight front, stay connected, facing the grass and “Hit the SHIIITe out of it’ - Scottish for Wrath of God! Off to hit the turf in the same spot for an hour!
-- weight forward is a chi-thought. Arms straight, turn shoulders-- tilt -- left shoulder points at the ball ( Arnie, The King ). Stay centered swing back on the same tilt point your Right shoulder at the ball ( if you can see the club face strike --Arnie again ) and crush. Never had so much fun playing golf. My putting is relentless two and one every time . . . nearly. I have to dump the Odyssey, going back to the Bulls Eye blade.
I started to watch your videos 2 weeks ago, my golf improved so much! Thank you Tom!🤗 I thought at 55 I was too old to improve my game. For the first time I went from 90's to mid 80's. I hope you are enjoying the camp!
That is fabulous, B. Blok!! And by the way, you're definitely not "too old" LOL! The majority of my students are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. So in other words, at 55 you're just a spring chicken in my world! Thanks for sharing your success and keep up the great work! Cheers! Tom
Tom you are an excellent instructor, you bring a lot of good energy to your teaching. I use to play stack and tilt years ago, I got away from golf for a period of time. I also suffered from sciatica and couldn't play for almost a year, and ended up losing my swing. I have struggled these last couple of years trying to hit the ball more solidly. I really like the drill you did with Jess Frank and the alignment stick. I will definitely be practicing that drill. Thanks and keep up the excellent instructions.
E. David Johnson, I truly appreciate your kind words regarding my instruction! I sincerely hope that together we can help you to recapture your swing and your enjoyment of this great game. Assuming your sciatica issue has either been resolved or at the very least is now manageable, I do believe strongly in Stack & Tilt as a proven body-friendly method. Beyond my personal experience in that regard, this has been further supported by the fact that the majority of my students are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. Should you wish to delve deeper into my instruction - and if you haven't already done so - please consider enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only system for the full swing, the short game, and much more. The school's intuitive course curriculum greatly simplifies the entire process through succinct, step-by-step videos, and I'm constantly adding new content. This will really put you on the fast track in a well-organized, self-guided fashion! There's even a members' forum where you can ask me specific swing-related questions and suggest new content ideas, and I will soon be adding live Q&A sessions as well. Here's a link if you'd like additional info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga. Thanks again for your comment and support! Tom
I'm glad to be a part of the network, Nick! You're welcome for the shout out, you have a fantastic channel - a great resource for the Stack and Tilters out there.
You're so obviously quite right. It's just so sad that many people won't allow themselfs to be helped because of prejudice, bias, prestige etc. S&T sure made the sport fun again for me when I discovered it! Finally consistent ball contact
Amen to that, Martin!! If more folks would just get out of their own way and open themselves up to this "cursed" method, it would truly be transformative for the game in general and for their enjoyment of it. Thanks for sharing - I'm glad this is working well for you!! Tom
Hi tom , i shot my best golf game ever last weel because of the hogan video series, i am self learner golfer and love ur stack and tilt videos thank you so much and keep the awesome content coming . You are a god teacher thank you so much !!!
@Alien, Congratulations - that is *AWESOME!!!* I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited your game!! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!! Cheers! Tom
Tom, have been watching you for several months now and making comments on your lessons that you present, and at times frustration creeps in but I always come back and say go back and look at your golf lessons and go back to the fundamentals and take it one piece at a time and make that same contact point. I am not perfect with everything yet but the golf swing you teach is easy to go back and repeat. Enjoy the Golf Camp and I would suggest your subscribers get the Stack And Tilt Book like you suggested to me it is great to go back and reference.
It is indeed a process, Dave, and you have done a fabulous job maintaining the proper perspective while embracing the highs, lows, and WTF's of the swing change journey! I'm very glad to know that you are experiencing incremental improvements through proper application of the lessons and that you are also beginning to notice the consistency and repeatability of this swing. And yes - the S&T book is most definitely an excellent resource and reference tool to supplement my instruction! Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work, and stay crispy my friend!! Tom
Thank you! I think I might be exaggerating the weight balance and hand forward lean a bit much and producing some pull draws to hooks, but I easily gained 15 to 20 yards without warmup, and could hit beautiful draw shots that have not been able to do so in the last year or so! just day one.. having a bit of trouble with longer irons, driver and wood but I will follow other tips for those too :)
I'm very glad to learn of your ball striking improvements, and I do understand as it is normal to overexaggerate the forward weight load at first! With regard to those longer clubs, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: ruclips.net/video/o0xscMyN3v8/видео.html Here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” where you can learn some aspects of the system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ This will provide a nice foundational understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag. Thanks for your message and keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Tom
Hi Tom, played in a tournament this weekend 4 man team, Ambrose Saturday, Sunday 3 best nett scores per hole, Our team won! My Sunday play was steady 95% of my shots were crisp (putting was average) a very hilly course (North Otago Golf Club NZ) Standing over the ball I was confident that I would have a crisp strike, enjoying golf more and more! Thanks for a great channel. 👍
@18stags, Congratulations - that is *FANTASTIC!!* Thanks so much for sharing your success! Now let's get that putter working for you....😆 Stay crispy my friend! Tom PS: If you really want to dial in your short game - chipping, pitching, putting, bunker play - you'll find all that content and much more in my online school for just $10 US/month or $99 US/year. Here's a link in case you're not already enrolled: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga
Been playing golf for many years and I know I am one of those 63% so started working this stack and til method. My bad days are much less and starting to have more good days for ball striking.
That's great, Carlos - I am very glad the instruction on my channel is benefiting your game!! Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work, and most importantly - have fun out there!!! Tom
Was struggling after some lessons at the end of 2020, was swinging out to in and couldn’t hit the center of the club face to save my life. Watched “Arnold Palmers favorite swing thought” video and in one range session was hitting the sweet spot very consistently. Two weeks later and I’m playing better every session.
Tom, just wanted to say thank you for all the great lessons and videos you have been putting out. I found you a few days ago and have been binge watching your videos the past few days. I have had multiple breakthroughs and a-ha moments because of you. Your videos are hilarious but this was the video that made me realize you are a true student of the game that is passionate about being the best you can be. I just enrolled in your course for a year and became a premium youtube subscriber to your channel so I could support you. It's the least I could do. Thank you! I will hit the ball with the wrath of god.
Thank you so much for your generous support of my channel, school, and, quite frankly, my entire business model, Chris!! I truly appreciate you!! Now....let's get you that WRATH!!! Tom
Tom what you say seems so logical. I like that you introduced Jess Frank to the viewers. He is a little more close to my age. I have a book by Ben Hogan printed in 1972. It’s such delicate condition that I will have to buy another copy. The front cover has Hogan striking the golf ball. Today’s print shows Hogan I think in the backswing. On my cover Hogans weight is mostly on his left foot. Of course most of his weight is still behind the ball. Now that I look closer it seems the ball has already been struck. I never really ever looked that closely before. But it is critically important. It creates the impression of striking the ground just under the ball. You know the importance of first impressions. Your suggestion of 55-60% on the left side makes it difficult to imagine hitting with the right hand and right hip. But as with Hogan if your body weight is still behind the ball then I imagine it will still be possible to hit from the right side.
I appreciate your kind words, Frank! Have a look at this photo of Mr. Hogan at the top of his backswing: ruclips.net/user/postUgxh7paT2KgJT69_n4J4AaABCQ It's quite clear where his weight is at the top, and it never leaves his front side from this point through to his finish! It is a common misconception purveyed by "conventional" instruction - one which has led to generations of chronic inconsistency, physical pain, and endless frustration - that we must shift our weight into the trail side in order to hit the ball well. So while Mr. Hogan was not textbook Stack & Tilt because he had some shift in pressure to his rear leg early in his backswing, the majority of his swing contains so many great elements that we can all benefit from and which also fit perfectly within this realm! If you ever wish to truly give this swing a fair shot, please consider enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only platform that breaks down and greatly simplifies the entire learning process through succinct, step-by-step videos, and I'm regularly adding new content. Here's a link if you'd like more info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga. I really think you'll enjoy the program and the results it produces. Thanks again for your comment! Tom
Much more persuasive than his videos where he has a club in his hands (to me anyway). I do appreciate his outgoing personality, air guitar (actual guitar) and all the rest, but this calm, mature explanation appeals to me a lot.
I found this channel by accident. Went out after watching one of Tom’s videos. EUREKA! It works!!! Wasn’t perfect but after 50 balls I found it very repeatable. After a couple weeks now of refining the swing, I hit a nice gentle draw that I have been trying to get for years now. Center club face and practice transfers to the course. What more could you ask forKeep em coming Tom ! Love that KFC feeling!
Sounds like a "happy accident", Ken!! I truly appreciate your kind words and support, and I am very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited your game to such an extent!! Keep it Krispy!! Tom
Love it!!!! 😂😂😂 And so we say....... _ "Welcome to "the dark side", where the spoils of "conventional" instruction - chronic inconsistency, physical pain, and endless frustration - yield to the fruits of effortless and body-friendly enjoyment of this great game for a lifetime."_ 😆 Thanks for the laugh, and we're glad to have you onboard!!! Tom
What can I say Tom ! Everything you teach is so simple and easy ! I just wish I knew about stack and tilt years ago .. as always keep it up Tom !!! Your Saguto golfer 🏌️♀️. Stephen Elliott. Southern California.
Hey Stephen in SC, Yeah - I sure wish I knew about S&T when I was first starting out as well, but then I'd probably be stuck on Tour and wouldn't have experienced all the pain and frustration that has enabled me to be an empathetic, understanding, and simplistic instructor....😆 Keep up the great work, and Keep it Krispy! Tom in the "Other SC"
Last winter in snowy Minnesota I was surfing different u tube golf vids. I saw one on the importance of having the weight shifted to the lead foot. I thought, why not just have the weight on the lead foot to begin with. But I thought my swing speed would go down. So I used my speed sensor to find out. If anything my swing speed increases because I was forced to be more balanced. Then like magic, a day or two later, I ran across Tom Saguto stack and tilt. Wow. I became a member. Of course, the last day of this season, I played my best golf. Hitting more greens in regulation then not. In the past, it seemed I'd have to learn all over what progress I had made the next coming season. Not anymore!! Cant wait for spring golf!!
I wish you as short a Minnesota winter as possible, Tom!! I'm very glad your swing and your enjoyment of the game have benefitted from this instruction - it's a great testimony to your embracing the process and putting in the necessary work to make it happen!! (And yes, one of the many great things about this method is its low maintenance feature, so you'll be able to hit the ground running next spring!) Stay warm, stay crispy, stay tuned-in to the channel, and we'll see you on the flipside!! Thanks for sharing your success! Tom
This is your best video so far. It's all that embodies golf. Individualism. Discovery. I literally take my club back with my right arm and all my left arm does is inform me where my path is. SImple and it allows me to crush with my dominant arm. The seasons over, but learning never is. I'll be in my basement working hard on shaping low and high. Cheers from MN
Thanks Johnny!! Stay warm up there and watch out for that basement ceiling when you're working on flighting it high!! Congrats on a great season - you worked hard and definitely reaped the rewards!!! Tom
@@SagutoGolf That means a lot brother. You changed my life, literally. I hope that resonates with you, cause it should, I'm positive that is why you started teaching. I'll make it through the winter! It gets repetitive hitting down in the basement, but it also teaches me a world of different things. Good luck to you and yours in the future!
Whilst not quite a success story yet but I can say I’ve definitely enjoyed playing and learning after following Tom and enrolling into his online school. Was in the depth of golf hell last year and took lessons and plummeted deeper into the abyss. Then I found Tom during lockdown here and I’ve been employing his methods since July. Have started enjoying this great game again and definitely enjoying the stack n tilt way of doing things! Thanks Tom - keep doing what you’re doing!
Hi Kunal, Through your commitment and work ethic you are indeed a success story in the making!! As I like to say, "welcome to 'the dark side', where the spoils of 'conventional' instruction - chronic inconsistency, physical pain, and endless frustration - yield to the fruits of effortless and body-friendly enjoyment of this great game for a lifetime." 😆 Thanks for sharing your success and keep up the great work, and stay crispy, my friend! Tom
I vowed to forget all the teachings and just hit the ball. With a few caveats: keep weight forward, keep my head still, and setup correctly. These things are becoming my normal swing and working very well, thanks Tom.
You and I could talk for days non stop about golf, I swear. I have these exact thoughts almost weekly 😂 got into stack and tilt during the off-season here in NJ, excited to bring this to the course! Shooting low 70s on the simulator just itching to bring this to the course!
Awesome!! We're into March now, so hopefully it won't be much longer before you are able to get out there. Thanks for sharing your improvement through Stack and Tilt, keep up the great work, and have a fabulous season! Tom
It’s incredible how care free this swing is. I don’t worry what so ever about weight and just crush tight draws. Watched you vid with Nico the other day, handle forward ball up for a fade…magic. Love this. Saguto the savior 👊🏼👍🏼
I thought there were going to be opening things up again, Paul. I sure hope they're not extending that ridiculous lockdown on such an obviously "dangerous" outdoor activity as golf... Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Cheers, Tom
I saw you on Eric C's channel. Something about the way you talked about finding the love of the game spoke to me. I checked out your videos, went out to the range and absolutely MASHED the ball for the first time(!!!), in maybe 6 months. I was an hovering around a 8-9 handicap for so long, trying to increase my distance by going higher and higher with my arms, coming down like an axe chop(but in my mind it was on plane lol) and ruining my joints in my hands.. led me to take a lesson with a top 100 PGA pro that changed my grip (10finger) and tried to adjust the swing. It didn't help, just more of the SAME OLD ADVICE and made me want to actually quit golf. Which is SAD! I knew the whole time that I wasn't properly striking the ball, or mashing it as you say, yet I could still shoot 77-97. It ruined my life for months. I'm 34 years old, never formally coached, and need to find my true power. I'm subscribing to your website now. Very excited, thanks for sharing your story
And so we say, @iBearcub - Welcome to "the dark side", where the spoils of "conventional" instruction - chronic inconsistency, physical pain, and endless frustration - yield to the fruits of effortless and body-friendly enjoyment of this great game for a lifetime. 😆 Thanks so much for your comment - I'm very glad to have you on board!! Tom
Tommy.....'...lop n loop...' another caddyshack moment, I love that...the nomenclature is a carnivorous beast, I am loving golf; of course, I have always loved golf; except when you know what you're doing the thrill is alive; instead of being in the forest under a log. I really don't know what the 'tilt' is, but I am doing it. People that I play with are avid golfers, but have not comprehended the change in my swing; just that I am making birdies and eagles, and easily 10 shots removed from my 90's gulag. I suppose everybody is different how they go about their golf menagerie, I mean, going to the range is like the 'house of horrors,' at the carny, swings from every galaxy and every cranial malformation from star trek. You're the man, Tommy, since you made the difference. I don't know if I would have embraced 'stack n tilt' without your enthusiasm and 'gett'er done' direction and assault on my chopping. You have nailed it; like no other, there are a kingpins cocaine load of good golf instructors on RUclips, and I swear I have gone down every road, but nothing stuck; even though, it was excellent instruction. That's what's kinda weird, you find small pearls from everybody, but nothing changes the overall,...'..that your a stinkin hack..'. Tommy, you're fort Knox, and the gold just keeps rolling in on those earth shaking caterpillar tractors. Man o man, your personality and hair kinda grooved my swing, and then, marrying it with Hogan arms and Palmer shoulders and saguto magic...that's the west wing of fort knox...many thanks...moe norman tagged the 'feeling of greatness' and you, ..'..buckets of crispness..'..baby, you made me find that golden vein...quite outstanding...nice..!!....
As you can tell from this video, Teddy, it obviously took several rectal-cranial inversions for me to get to the point of being able to deliver those buckets of delectable golden crispiness... Like a good Bond movie, I am mesmerized by your seamless transitions from Carl Spackler to Soviet prison "camps", the galaxies and menageries of Star Trek to the carny scene that so frightened Austin Powers, Larry the Cable Guy to Food Network, pearls to precious metals, heavy equipment to heavy hair, the White House to Fort Knox, and finally Ben, Arnie, and Moe... Anyway, not sure just where I'm going here, but do keep on doing what you're doing because I do so love the sound of birdies and even bigger birdies. And with regard to the clueless avid golfers you're playing with, as the saying goes, "There Are Three Types of People: Those Who Make Things Happen, Those Who Watch Things Happen, and Those Who Wonder What Happened." We know where Teddy resides; the others will only be left to watch and then wonder why their wallets have gotten to be so much lighter.... Nice, Teddy. Very nice!!... Tom
I need a golf swing that won't drive me crazy, I need a swing that won't let me down. I just started yesterday working on a Ben Hogan swing. It's compact, simple, hands never get above your head. It may be a little stack & tilt, IDK. But it seems to be easy to time and repeat. We'll see. And don't forget about your golf clubs. You need a good set. I have a beautiful set of Mizuno irons. I felt like they were heavy to swing (I'm losing some strength at 66) so a month ago, I bought $700 worth of Callaway Rogue Xs with graphite shafts. I can hit the 9-iron as far as a Mizuno 7-iron. But they're not consistent. So as an experiment, I took my Mizuno 8-iron and put a graphite shaft in it, stiff flex, replacing the steel KBS Tour 110 R shaft. It has the same sweet feel and consistency as before but lighter. I played it on the course and was pleasantly surprised. So I've ordered new graphite shafts for the rest on my Mizunos ($55/ea). I'll be selling the Callaway Rogue X irons. Played about 10 rounds with them and hit 500 range balls. They're nice, but not for my game. Not worried about distance, it's all just numbers. It's knowing how far you can carry a club that matters. And if you really want to put your game to the test, go play a championship course you've never played before. And good luck.
@Tz S - I thought for a moment that you were going to break out in a song based on your first sentence LOL! Anyway, I'd like you to consider that the Stack & Tilt swing as it is an extremely body-friendly, low-maintenance method that produces a consistent ball flight and seemingly effortless power. For me this is supported by my personal experience as a player, and furthered by the fact that the majority of my students are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. Should you wish to give this swing a fair shot by learning it properly, please consider enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only platform that really simplifies the process through succinct, step-by-step videos, and I'm constantly adding new content. Here's a link if you'd like more info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga. Thanks and best of luck to you! Tom
I enjoy your content a lot it gives me some good Twinkies every time I watch a video with you I go to the range and get good results training for the fun of it and I’m self-taught as well.Keep creating the good content I enjoy it a lot thank you
Hi Henrik, I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad to know that the instruction on my channel has benefited your game!! Keep up the great work and enjoy those Twinkies!! 😂 Cheers! Tom
I found you during lockdown, started applying your lessons with my Optishot in my garage, and when I finally got back out on a golf course, I was hooked! I have been to several golf schools over the years, and taken lessons from many reputable PGA Pros, all with marginal success. I always swing too hard and outside in (over the top). I remember several saying “keep your head behind the ball” ... BUT they couldn’t tell me HOW to do it! 🤔 KEEP YOUR WEIGHT LEFT! (Who’da thought?) ... and tilt your left shoulder down! Now I’m in my 60’s and had complete hip replacement last year. It got to a point where I couldn’t hit my irons (at all) and I seriously thought about giving up the game (sound familiar?) ... and this year I had the most enjoyable golf season I ever had! My handicap is still between 11-13 (my goal is to be single digit just once in my life), but I think that’s more due to us playing from the senior tees now and the course handicap/rating is killing me. I am definitely hitting the ball better, more solid (longer off the tee), straighter and more consistent. I’m pain-free and my swing just plain FEELS good. Now I just have to remember to STAY DOWN on the downswing 🙄 Thanks, Tom
I will have the rest of the pieces of the puzzle for my optishot this week. I have reasonable but high hopes for it. Honest question, would you buy it again?
@@ericzikmanis6116 Absolutely, I’d buy it again. Optishot is NOT a launch monitor, some say it’s inaccurate, but to me it’s just FUN. I’m looking at my last round outdoors until May (here in Chicago), but I will be playing in my garage all winter (not every day, but occasionally), and I can work on squaring up my clubface in the offseason.
Hi Mike, I've truly appreciated all your kind comments over the past several months, and I'm absolutely thrilled to learn of the extent of the body-friendly success you've experienced and your resulting increased enjoyment of this great game!! THAT is what this channel and my online school are really all about!! Thanks so much for sharing, keep up the great work, and be sure to stay crispy using your Optishot during that Chicago winter so you can hit your single-digit goal early next season!! Tom
Tom: I love your stack and tilt and it has helped my game. The only issue I have is that it puts a lot of stress on my left hip and I have a bad left hip. Can you give me any advice that may help me?
Hi Dan, I'm sorry to learn of your hip discomfort. Let's first make sure that your starting point for the swing is correct. Weight forward 55/45 (up to 60/40 with the driver), both feet flared out 10-20 degrees, with both knees flared out as well to a slightly lesser extent are prescribed setup features of the Stack & Tilt swing. On the backswing the lead knee (which I assume is your left) folds in the direction it is pointed - and definitely not inward towards the trail side - as it responds to the loading of additional weight onto the front side. On the downswing the hips simply shift laterally, transferring more weight to the front side as they rotate. There really should not be much pressure placed on the hips at any stage if the motions are executed correctly, so please evaluate your swing with these keys in mind. Having said that, if your hip is already in pretty bad shape (i.e.: in need of replacement) and you are swinging as prescribed, then there may not be any way to avoid some manner of discomfort until the issue is medically or therapeutically addressed. The Stack & Tilt swing is a proven body-friendly method. For me this is supported by both my personal experience as a player and the fact that the majority of my students are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. Should you wish to give this swing a fair shot by learning it properly, please consider enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school. Yes you will, Jeremiah. I am Class A PGA Professional and a Certified Stack and Tilt Instructor. I give all credit where it is due - including Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett for analyzing and interpreting the science, and to those who preceded them with their empirical observations of the game's best ball strikers and all their subsequent chalkboard number-crunching. I just do my best to take what they have built and convey it in my own simplified teaching style, which you will find fully on display in the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school where thousands of folks across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. I hope to see you soon in the school, and I wish you all the best for a Blessed, Healthy, Happy 2024 that has you enjoying the best golf of your life! Tom
I have gone from playing down the right side to struggling to control a baby hook/draw with my irons. Too much inside out! Think i am getting that sweet spot. Thing is my driver is now that power fade most of the time. Can't get the draw on the driver but happy to play that power fade at about 275!
Sounds like you've made a really positive correction BMB! You may have gone from STEEP (fades) to SHALLOW (draws). You could be getting too shallow....but your driver fading at 275 is not a bad thing. Could be a driver setup issue?
@@SagutoGolf when you say driver set up....my set up to the ball or my driver itself? Have been talking to some friends about making a trip to the PGA store and getting fitted for a shaft. Consensus seems to be that I need a lower kick point to bring the ball down from such a high trajectory.
Minute 23 of you week in Miami was my issue too. Didn't stay as connected and started smashing irons, 6I @ 180-190 and at the pin. Straightened out driver too
I’d love to hear what the stack and tilt teachers think of Mac O’Grady. Rumor has it he showed them his flighted wedge shot and from their they derived “stack and tilt”. Either way, solid teaching program and very much forward to hearing all you experienced during the seminar.
Hi Joseph, I don't profess to know all the historical details of how S&T ultimately came to be, but it is fair to say that its roots are traceable in part to The Golfing Machine and M.O.R.A.D. (O'Grady's system). I do my best here and in my online school to take the technical swing jargon, dumb it down to a level that even I can understand, and then translate this into my simplified instruction system. Yes - definitely more good stuff to come regarding my experience at the S&T Academy!! Cheers! Tom
Agreed. You are on the money as far as it is a style used by all the greats. I play all Hogan blades and there is no way to hit those well without learning to hit the ground in the same spot each time. Love your instruction because you are one of the few that can bog through the complexities and make the game simple enough for the beginner and the experienced golfer. Love your videos!
Love it🎉🎉🎉 I never knew about this. I am trying hard for the body to understand! You make this fun!!💥 I am glad I found this crispy dude!! Heading to Aruba as I am from NE. I'll get some stack n tilt in me!!!😊
Yes! I'm glad you enjoyed my "conversion" story! Your body will come around - just be patient. The transformation takes time as we work to gradually eradicate those stubborn ghosts of swings past. It's a very worthwhile process, though, as it ultimately leads us to the land of consistent ball striking bliss. That is also why the sequential, comprehensive, structured learning platform of the school is far superior to trying to haphazardly piece things together through a series of YT videos. (hint hint..... 😎) If by NE you mean Nebraska, I hope you get out of there before this next round of snow followed by the "deep freeze of the Polar Vortex" (which I believe we used to just refer to as "winter"). If, on the other hand, NE means New England, well...sorry about the Patriots. In either case, enjoy Aruba!!! Tom
I am from New England 😢 I have been struggling like you were (probably not as good as you were anyways). I am sick of never knowing where the ball is going and who is going to show up!! You da man for me!! Just wish you would do a clinic soon. You're ready, let's go!!! 🎉🎉. I want to be excited again, I love this game!!
I was consistently scoring between 90-100. With the stack and tilt method I am scoring 80-84 with a couple of rounds of 77 and 78. Tom you made golf fun for me again
That's Fabulous, Charles!! I'm very glad to learn of your success, and I am thrilled to know how much you are now enjoying this great game as a result!! THAT is what this channel and my online school are really all about!! Thanks for sharing, and keep up the great work!! Tom
To be honest, now i think about it, my best strikes are when i feel like i've got a stake through my head, and my left shoulder starts in a downwards motion to the floor to start the swing. It also helps keep you over the ball, covering it for compression. I'm a weird golfer in the fact that i'm off 22 because i can't SCORE low, but i can hit irons really, really well maybe 4/10 times. The consistency isn't there though and i think me NOT S&T'ing could be why. One time i'll hit it right out the middle, buttery smooth like i've not even hit anything, ball first then divot, ball goes miles, i'm known as a big hitter around the club since i take less club than everyone else even though i'm playing blades. But that's 4/10 times. The other 6 out of 10 i'll fat it or skull it, or i'll hit it not out of the centre and get 50 yards less carry. Annoying because i know the strike is there for me but there's no consistency, like you said one day you'd shoot 95 the next 75. I think this could be the way. I'd love a lesson with you bro it would be sick.
What you just described there - feeling like you've got a stake through your head, and your lead shoulder tilting downward as your head stays in place - is the basic form of Stack & Tilt. Have you considered the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step from setup to finish. Additionally, you'll find all my short game content (putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play), advanced level courses on shot shaping and power/distance, diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more there. i've had the book and tapes for years and combined with you and others on youtube i find a stack and tilt type swing action to be the most consistent for me. i just have to be careful of what i think is a reverse pivot and or early extension in my swing. thnx for your help.
Thanks for your comment, Steve! FYI, there is plenty of instructional detail in the online school that gels nicely with the other sources you referenced, including lessons and drills designed to troubleshoot and fix most common issues and get the golfer back on the proper track. Cheers! Tom
Well done, Niguel!! I am very glad to know that S&T and my instruction on my channel have benefited your game to such an extent!! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!! Tom
Tom- I just joined your school a few weeks ago. I know that I can get online personal lessons with you but I am a face to face learner (I guess I need that type of teacher). Where can I find out if there are any S&T instructors in Calgary Alberta Canada 🇨🇦? I am truly enjoying your school and can’t wait for the season to start. Your 🇨🇦 Friend
Welcome to the SagutoGolf Family, Leon - I'm very glad to have you onboard in the online school!! I just checked the Stack and Tilt website and did not see any certified instructors in the Calgary area. I did notice that there are a couple of Golftec locations in Calgary. A number of their instructors are aligned with the S&T methodology, so it may be worth a phone call to find out. Just be very careful that any live instruction you might endeavor to receive is complimentary to what you are learning in the school, as any deviations will cause confusion and could very easily stymie your progress. Tom
I'm glad you approve of my fashion statement, Jeremy!! yea this has revolutionized my game, it's taken my swing from "wtf is going to happen" to "boring i know exactly how it's going to go" but it's great that it's boring, i never walk up to a shot with anxiety and that feeling where i don't really want to hit the ball, every bad golfer knows that feeling. my striking is boring now, and that is awesome, i can pick a spot and actually hit the ball there, now if i can just fix my short game, i'm gonna break 85, it's coming.
@reiko57, "Boring" is a beautifully peaceful thing on the golf course, isn't it??? 😆 I am very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited you to such an extent!! @@SagutoGolf you know what man, i will totally do that, that's freaken worth it, it's the least i can do for the guy who fixed a 20 year problem, i've been playing since 13 with my dad, and i just kept practicing and practicing and never got any better, never had any better of an idea where it was going, i actually quit 4 years ago and just picked it up again in august, but decided i'm gonna give it a real try this time and if i still suck, well oh well, but your channel more than any other has completely fixed my striking. thanks man, i look forward to the content in the online school. (i play guitar too, saw that video, very nice lol)
I'm now 58 and have played golf for 44 years. Your teaching has allowed me to get my swing back to the athletic motion I had when I was 29, albeit shorter. My lack of flexibility caused me to lift my arms instead of turning and getting my hands behind my trail shoulder. Thanks brother... enjoy your camp.
That's fantastic, Larry - I'm thrilled to know that you've gotten your golf mojo back!! By the way, next time you're in the online school, please check out the newly added Power + Distance course. You may find a nugget or two in there to experiment with that may help you recapture a good chunk of that yardage you enjoyed at 29. Thanks for sharing and stay crispy, my friend!! Tom
Hi Tom. I have found your instructions enlightening and have definitely improved my ball striking consistency. I also don’t suffer from any pains like I did before (left forearm and lower back especially). Can you please do some videos on uphill and downhill lie control of your ball striking techniques?
Hi Michael, I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited your game in a body-friendly manner!! With regard to uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies, that is on my near future to-do list for the online school, where in addition to the intuitive, structured, self-guided learning platform for the full swing I've got loads of content on all other aspects of the game, from chipping, pitching, bunker play, and putting to the finer points such as ball flight rules, shot shaping, and more. I'll also soon be adding live members-only Q&A sessions. It's really a steal at just $10 US/month or $99 US/year. To the Quik: A Fun Jot:...Tom, the [Sitting Position] with a [Lifting Motion] (Internal Obliques) is my Fundamental Move in Golf! Why? My [Elbows & Hips], [Knees & Shoulders] come together with this Fundamental Move! To Note: The [Scapula] is now rhythmically timed for the [Golf Shot & its Swing]! Have a great day, my friend.
Like any ideas, if you get something from them, that's positive. Going complete stack and tilt was too much of a change for me; BUT, staying centered and swinging fast helped my iron game tremendously. I was throwing darts into the green last time I played. Thanks
Well done, Tim!! We've all got to take ownership of our swings, and as long as the motion is body friendly, produces the desired results, and enables you to maximize your enjoyment of this great game, then it's all good by me! Thanks for your comment! Tom
Sorry, but I haven't taken the time to familiarize myself with that. However, if it is a centered, powerful, low-maintenance, body-friendly one-plane motion that does not involve any shifting/lifting nor rely on creating resistance, then there are definite similarities. Having said that, since Stack and Tilt is a robust swing system based on data from the game’s best golf ball strikers, I am never surprised to learn of similarities between components of my teaching and what other very capable instructors are saying. Tom
I had a 1 hour lesson with Tom 2 weeks before my annual golf trip with my group. I killed them on that trip. Went from a 13 to a 9 in less than a month. I was going to quit a month before the lesson. PLEASE give it a try.....Tom makes golf fun again...
Great stuff, @Croix Paquin!! I truly appreciate your kind words and support, and I am very glad to know that through my channel's instruction and your hard work you not only salvaged your golf game but also managed to step it up to a whole new level!! Congrats on getting to single-digit, and have fun beating up on your buddies!! (BTW, after you've had enough fun, please feel free to send them my way!...) Thanks for sharing!! Tom

Thanks very much for your comment - I hope you find great body-friendly success and enjoyment through my instruction!! Tom
Tom thanks for the instruction and it really seems like you want us to play our best golf. It comes across that way in your videos. I just picked up the game this spring at age 60 to spend time with the boys, now addicted. Since watching your videos it has helped my swing, best score thus far is 94 thanks to you, usually around 100. When I follow the "stack/tilt" teaching my ball striking is more consistent. My issue is I'm left handed so my lead leg is my right leg which has had 3 minor arthroscopic surgery's over the years so putting 55/45 tilt on the front leg has soreness as the number of holes played increases. So I'm trying more of a balance 50/50 but honestly not striking as clean as with the Stack. I'm trying to find a balance of Stack/tilt and 50/50?
Wow Tom - breaking 100 already and you haven't even been playing a full year yet?? That's outstanding!! With regard to your knee issue, please confirm that your setup has both feet flared out 10-20 degrees, with the knees flared out as well but to a slightly lesser degree. In the backswing, your lead knee (the right knee in your case) should bend as it remains pointed in the slightly outward direction; it must not turn inward at all towards your trail side as this little bit of twisting could cause discomfort. If with the correct setup and proper execution of the described motion you are still experiencing soreness, then go to a weight distribution that is comfortable for you but try not to lose your swing center otherwise the low point will shift and you'll encounter consistency problems. Have a look at Tiger's present-day swing from a face-on view. He is now very "stacked" over the ball and remains very well-centered even though he still has a slight shift in pressure onto his trail side on the backswing. (Note also, however, that he wastes no time in getting onto his front side at the transition.) In fact I even did a video on this earlier in the year. Here's a link to it: ruclips.net/video/-QH6dkf0xNQ/видео.html. This might be something for you to emulate if keeping the weight forward from address to the top of your backswing causes pain, but again - please check your setup and knee folding direction first before doing this. I hope this helps! Tom
@@SagutoGolf I've been thinking about signing up for your site. I'm shooting the scores because of your video's, 45/45, Hogan arms, Relationship w/ball, etc..... The fact you really care about OUR success and having fun golfing, seals the sign-up. I was only reluctant because of the Stack/Tilt and my knee BUT I've learned so much in a short time even if I have to modify the weight distro on my front leg. I'll check out your advice also! Thanks, Tom m
It’s my understanding that stack and tilt is derived from the golfing machine, and even more specifically, Mac O’ Grady’s rewriting of the golf machine that he worked on to fit his specific philosophy. Is this accurate? I know that watching old videos on RUclips of Grady I’m watching one of the purest ball striking swings in the history of the game.
Kind of an evolution as you stated, but Mac's teaching has some significant differences. But, S&T has definite roots in TGM and Mac. The beauty is a specific system that anyone can learn, and correct if needed. You won't get lost trying to find some "feel" that worked, but you lost it and can't find it again. One thing not talked about, which I tracked down, is that Mac used and taught a very strong left hand grip, specifically so that there is no rotation in the forearm and wrist. "Too many moving parts to time it consistently" is close to his exact words. S&T teaches a traditional grip. Not as weak as Hogan's, but not strong. Mac said the flat left wrist at impact was one thing that Homer Kelly did not get 100% correct. (In that with a very strong grip, the back of the left wrist is not flat at impact.) A good example of this is Fred Couples at impact.
@Brett & @Saab Tech - Yes, Stack and Tilt does indeed have ties to TGM/M.O.R.A.D., all three of which are rooted in the unchanging principles of physics and geometry. What I seek to do in my instruction is take the complexities inherent to the latter - which have been rendered more user-friendly by the former - and convey them into a simpler, more easily understood, yet equally-effective learning platform for golfers of all ages, experience levels, and abilities. As for the grip, Stack and Tilt does not specifically advocate one that is strong, weak, or neutral, and the book actually provides a bit of leeway in this regard. There are certainly some fundamental grip elements that are "musts" in order to achieve a proper attachment that promotes the correct motions, but beyond that it allows for some personal preference provided that does not cause adverse results. Thanks for your comments! Tom
Indeed!! There's no need to torque your back, strain your hips, and blow out your knees all for the purpose of propelling an orb towards a target. Physics + Geometry + Human Physiology = a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful swing. That's what I teach, and it equates to a lifetime of true enjoyment of this great game!! Thanks for your comment - I'm very glad to know that you have benefited from this instruction!! Tom
Not necessarily, Bob. As long as your irons lie flat on the ground without manipulation at address and are neither toe-up or toe-down at impact you should be fine. Cheers! Tom
Since switching to the Saguto method, my confidence has greatly improved. Shot consecutive 71's. Should have been 68! It's fun to stand over a shot & KNOW what to do. Do I hit every shot perfect? NO WAY. But my misses are manageable. BTW, your sessions on chipping have been a godsend. My thinking now is get me close or on, I can chip it in! Been playing for 60 years...I LOVE effortless golf
Hi Daniel, I'm very glad to learn of your body-friendly success through this instruction, and I am thrilled to know how much you are now enjoying this great game!! THAT is what this channel and my online school are really all about, and I truly appreciate your support and endorsement of both!! Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work, and stay crispy!! Tom
Tom, thank you for sharing your story on why you switched to the “stack and tilt” golf swing. I have been watched several of your videos over the last few weeks and they have been very helpful. Like you, I was ready to quit golf and then I tried putting into practice some of the things I learned from your videos. The results - wait for it - I have dropped 10 to 12 strokes per round over the past month. Part of my pre-shot routine now includes the phrase “crispy KFC contact”. Thanks again. I am going to check out your online golf school.
10-12 strokes per round over the past month?? That's *awesome!!!* You obviously have done a fantastic job digesting the lesson content, incorporating it into your swing, and then - the hardest part - putting it into play on the course. Thanks for sharing your great progress, keep it crispy, and I hope to see you soon in the school!!! Tom

I press down too much on my back and it makes it hard for me to get ahold of my driver. So just today I decided to back off standing taller and letting the club hang off the ground. Bombs all day.
Tom,
Thank you & thank you for simplifying the golf swing.

Whack the crap outta that ball!!!
steve perry: tom, this is the swing i've been looking for. i call it the fool proof swing, in that i don't have to hit a large bucket of balls before i play to find my swing, it seems that simple. i just set and for get it and the most important thing for me to remember is stay centered and a bit left. other than that it's easy to perform. thnx for the help
RAH Capital : well its coming together. after years of ageing and giving up on getting better, I am ripping the ball like I was when I was 25. Tom Saguto has made golf fun again. you are a legend my friend. thank you (will be at Caledonia next month, would love to shake your hand!)
57beachboy : Tom, my story is similar to yours in one way...The very next day after watching two of your swing videos I started hitting the ball "crispy".
17 years as a bogey golfer I started watching him this past spring. I broke 80 3 times this year with a 77 this past week.
I also went from 15% GIR to about 45% GIR. TOM SAGUTO=lower scores
@@dgmickley you’re saying with Tom Saguto teaching stack and tilt you’ve gotten better? Didn’t he just start stacking and tilt?
@@tracydaniels2982 he has been teaching this technique for awhile.
Cheers!

Tom
My best score was 77 this year! I never thought sub 80 was possible for me. What's more I feel I can get better. Thank you Tom!

Tom
Tom,
Craig and I saw you last week at Litchfield for a few hours.
Tom
Golf was a mystery until I saw your videos. Thanks! Keeping my trail elbow tight to my body has led to a big improvement in my swing.
That's fantastic, William - it truly is the "magic" elbow!!
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!!

Hi Jonathan,
I'm very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited your game to such an extent!!

Tom, thank you for taking the time to reply. Having fun indeed and yes I will continue to work on this. All the best to you!

Regards,
John

PS: Don't tell anyone, but when they aerate the greens down here and they're pretty rough, we'll oftentimes agree to a two-putt maximum until they've healed enough to provide a consistent roll.

Cheers from down-under
So you're saying that Don from Down Under is have trouble with coming Up Over??...🤔🙂
No problem as this chronic affliction affects the vast majority of amateur golfers. You can search search my channel's downswing playlist where you'll find a number of videos specific to this. Here's the link: ruclips.net/p/PLV62KxT7Mp7Jxi814RQddJx3wkHqxqhio
Alternatively - and quite frankly my best suggestion - is that you give some thought to enrolling in my online school.
Tom
PS: That driver distance will continue to improve over time as you grow increasing comfortable with the motions and applying the "wrath". In fact, you may wish to check out the new Power + Distance course in the online school to learn more about the four power accumulators and how to incorporate them into your swing!
Jim Wile,
Great job on that 73 - that is just AWESOME!!
Tom
Keep at it bro! This method only gets more and more consistent as you progress.
Great stuff, Marc!! That is some SERIOUS Scottish Wrath!!!
Cheers!
Tom
-- weight forward is a chi-thought. Arms straight, turn shoulders-- tilt -- left shoulder points at the ball ( Arnie, The King ). Stay centered swing back on the same tilt point your Right shoulder at the ball ( if you can see the club face strike --Arnie again ) and crush. Never had so much fun playing golf. My putting is relentless two and one every time . . . nearly. I have to dump the Odyssey, going back to the Bulls Eye blade.
Nice......💪💪
E. David Johnson,
I truly appreciate your kind words regarding my instruction!
" Just a flesh wound!" 1 of my favorite movies of all time. Trying s & t on Thursday. Chipping in the yard is certainly more crisp. THANK YOU!
LOL!!
Just be sure to repair all divots in your yard - with great crispiness comes great responsibility!!....😂
Cheers!
Tom
Welcome to the network Tom, and thanks for the shoutout u legend. Mike and Andy do not get the credit they deserve ..... yet 😜
I'm glad to be a part of the network, Nick! You're welcome for the shout out, you have a fantastic channel - a great resource for the Stack and Tilters out there.
Neither does Mac O'Grady.
@Alien,
Congratulations - that is *AWESOME!!!*
I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited your game!!
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!!
Cheers!
Tom
Absolutely the best golf intro ever! I have been on that rollercoaster. 89 then 74.
Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Tom
@@SagutoGolf Thanks Tom going to play this morning and continuing the journey
To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: ruclips.net/video/o0xscMyN3v8/видео.html
Here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” where you can learn some aspects of the system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ This will provide a nice foundational understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag.
Thanks for your message and keep up the great work!! 💪💪
Tom
@@SagutoGolf Awesome thanks a lot Tom.. will grip and crispy chicken wing rip it as per instructions 🙏
@18stags,
Congratulations - that is *FANTASTIC!!* Thanks so much for sharing your success! Now let's get that putter working for you....😆
Stay crispy my friend!

That's AWESOME, Nick!! I'm very glad to know that the Arnold Palmer tip resonated so well with you!!
Thanks for sharing your success!
Tom
Hogan at the top of his backswing: ruclips.net/user/postUgxh7paT2KgJT69_n4J4AaABCQ
It's quite clear where his weight is at the top, and it never leaves his front side from this point through to his finish!
Much more persuasive than his videos where he has a club in his hands (to me anyway). I do appreciate his outgoing personality, air guitar (actual guitar) and all the rest, but this calm, mature explanation appeals to me a lot.
Thanks Jake - I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Cheers!
Tom

This video - ALL FACTS!!
I made the switch after years of the slide, lift & spray. I’m all in on stack & tilt. Chamblee can bite it!
Love it!!!! 😂😂😂
And so we say....... _ "Welcome to "the dark side", where the spoils of "conventional" instruction - chronic inconsistency, physical pain, and endless frustration - yield to the fruits of effortless and body-friendly enjoyment of this great game for a lifetime."_ 😆

What can I say Tom ! Everything you teach is so simple and easy ! I just wish I knew about stack and tilt years ago .. as always keep it up Tom !!! Your Saguto golfer 🏌️♀️. Stephen Elliott. Southern California.
Hey Stephen in SC,
Yeah - I sure wish I knew about S&T when I was first starting out as well, but then I'd probably be stuck on Tour and wouldn't have experienced all the pain and frustration that has enabled me to be an empathetic, understanding, and simplistic instructor....😆
Keep up the great work, and Keep it Krispy!
(And yes, one of the many great things about this method is its low maintenance feature, so you'll be able to hit the ground running next spring!)
Stay warm, stay crispy, stay tuned-in to the channel, and we'll see you on the flipside!!
Thanks for sharing your success!

Hi Kunal,
Through your commitment and work ethic you are indeed a success story in the making!!

Thanks for sharing your success and keep up the great work, and stay crispy, my friend!

I vowed to forget all the teachings and just hit the ball. With a few caveats: keep weight forward, keep my head still, and setup correctly. These things are becoming my normal swing and working very well, thanks Tom.
That's great stuff, Jim!!
Thanks for sharing your success and keep up the great work!!
Tom
Brilliant I'm on the next flight over there - Blast were in lockdown here in the UK will S&T into my net instead. Great story thanks Tom.
I thought there were going to be opening things up again, Paul. I sure hope they're not extending that ridiculous lockdown on such an obviously "dangerous" outdoor activity as golf...
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Cheers,
Tom
Thanks so much for your comment - I'm very glad to have you on board!!

@@SagutoGolf Hell yeah. Sounds good to me. Thanks for the welcome

I remember several saying “keep your head behind the ball”
... BUT they couldn’t tell me HOW to do it! 🤔
KEEP YOUR WEIGHT LEFT!
(Who’da thought?)
... and tilt your left shoulder down!
Now I’m in my 60’s and had complete hip replacement last year. It got to a point where I couldn’t hit my irons (at all) and I seriously thought about giving up the game (sound familiar?)
... and this year I had the most enjoyable golf season I ever had!
Now I just have to remember to STAY DOWN on the downswing 🙄
Thanks, Tom
I will have the rest of the pieces of the puzzle for my optishot this week. I have reasonable but high hopes for it. Honest question, would you buy it again?
@@ericzikmanis6116
Absolutely, I’d buy it again.
Hi Mike,
I've truly appreciated all your kind comments over the past several months, and I'm absolutely thrilled to learn of the extent of the body-friendly success you've experienced and your resulting increased enjoyment of this great game!! THAT is what this channel and my online school are really all about!!
Thanks so much for sharing, keep up the great work, and be sure to stay crispy using your Optishot during that Chicago winter so you can hit your single-digit goal early next season!!

Tom: I love your stack and tilt and it has helped my game. The only issue I have is that it puts a lot of stress on my left hip and I have a bad left hip. Can you give me any advice that may help me?
Hi Dan,
I'm sorry to learn of your hip discomfort.

Greetings, if I enroll in your program will I learn the S&T method?
Tom
Your subscribers are rising! ....and rightly so....keep up the energy!
Thanks for taking notice, Al!! I appreciate your kind words and support!!
Keep it Krispy!
Hi Joseph,
I don't profess to know all the historical details of how S&T ultimately came to be, but it is fair to say that its roots are traceable in part to The Golfing Machine and M.O.R.A.D.
If by NE you mean Nebraska, I hope you get out of there before this next round of snow followed by the "deep freeze of the Polar Vortex" (which I believe we used to just refer to as "winter").
This works hitting the ball clean consistently further stress on my body love it !
Great ! I'm glad to know that my channel's instruction content is helping you to improve your game in a body-friendly way!!

Good great content Tom! You have good output, time flies listening you talk about golf! Thank You!
Thanks Peter - I appreciate your kind words and I'm glad you're enjoying my channel's content!!

Tom
So many folks across the globe are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result. I wish you well Tom, I enjoy your videos and I enjoyed giving you a hard once in awhile. I'm converting my swing also but not s&t. Good luck!
Thanks Bruce!!
Best of luck to you in your swing journey, and may you find consistent crispiness wherever you land!
Cheers!
Tom
i've had the book and tapes for years and combined with you and others on youtube i find a stack and tilt type swing action to be the most consistent for me. i just have to be careful of what i think is a reverse pivot and or early extension in my swing. thnx for your help.
Thanks for your comment, Steve!
FYI, there is plenty of instructional detail in the online school that gels nicely with the other sources you referenced, including lessons and drills designed to troubleshoot and fix most common issues and get the golfer back on the proper track.
Cheers!

Was a game changer for me as well. Compression is an addicting feeling.
Indeed it is, @canefan17!!
Keep it Crispy!

Aged 68 I’m now handicap 7 (from 10) specifically due to S&T. Thanks for your help.
Well done, Niguel!!
I am very glad to know that S&T and my instruction on my channel have benefited your game to such an extent!!
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!!

Tom
Tom - Thanks so much for the quick and kind response. I will certainly take your advice. Your 🇨🇦 Friend
I'm tempted to try this a few times, and see what happens. Really frustrated with my game. I'm also instituting v-necks under the golf shirt.
I'm glad you approve of my fashion statement, Jeremy!!

I'm loving this Stack and Tilt! Thanks Tom!
Awesome, David - I'm glad to know it!!
Tom
yea this has revolutionized my game, it's taken my swing from "wtf is going to happen" to "boring i know exactly how it's going to go" but it's great that it's boring, i never walk up to a shot with anxiety and that feeling where i don't really want to hit the ball, every bad golfer knows that feeling. my striking is boring now, and that is awesome, i can pick a spot and actually hit the ball there, now if i can just fix my short game, i'm gonna break 85, it's coming.
@reiko57,
"Boring" is a beautifully peaceful thing on the golf course, isn't it??? 😆
I am very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited you to such an extent!! Now as for the short game, you may be interested in looking into the SagutoGolf online school as that is where you'll find all that content.
Tom
Thanks for your simple analogy of the golf swing
My pleasure, Lawrence - I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Cheers!
Tom
Hi Tom. I have found your instructions enlightening and have definitely improved my ball striking consistency. I also don’t suffer from any pains like I did before (left forearm and lower back especially). Can you please do some videos on uphill and downhill lie control of your ball striking techniques?
Hi Michael,
I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad the instruction on my channel has benefited your game in a body-friendly manner!!
If you haven't already done so I invite you to check it out here: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga.
Thanks again for your support and keep up the great work!!

Tom
Stack and tilt and David leadbetter’s alternative swing are the same? What may be differences? Thanks
(BTW, after you've had enough fun, please feel free to send them my way!...)
Thanks for sharing!!

I have just recently started implementing most of your techniques, will update👍

S&T and one length - taking the variables out of the swing; both work for me.
What clubs do you use?
Miami Vice vibe in effect.
Thanks for showing your old videos.😁
LOL! Glad you enjoyed my "home movies", Jerry!!
Cheers!
What a great philosophy you have. We’re lucky to have you.
Thank you, Timothy - I truly appreciate your kind words!!!
Tom
Tom
Allowing the trail leg to straighten generates amazing, pain free, effortless power. This is the way golf was played many years ago.
Tom
When changing from a more conventional swing to Stack and Tilt, is it usually necessary to adjust the lie angles of your irons?
Hi Daniel,
I'm very glad to learn of your body-friendly success through this instruction, and I am thrilled to know how much you are now enjoying this great game!!
