    Years ago I called the Stack & Tilt headquarters for access to the website. There were issues. Andy answered the phone for both calls I made. He coached me over the phone. The conversations lasted somewhere between 15-20 minutes each time. I was really impressed at how he was genuinely interested in students he had never met. What a first class guy with incredible knowledge.

    It really can't be overstated how vital the external rotation of the trail shoulder is.
    I've found that it makes rotation through the ball almost automatic. Dispersion, shot shape, ball strike. It really is the key that unlocks the swing.

      Rob, I think you answered my question. I had been driving my legs and hitting pushes, unable to bring hand and club path “in”. This seems to bring it “in” would you apply force to the motion or let it happen after lateral weight shift?

  • @chroniclesofahighhandicapp4467
    @chroniclesofahighhandicapp4467 Месяц назад

    Nick, this video has saved me with Stack and Tilt. I follow the advice you received but I’m a bit in need of clarification if you can. I do the following.
    I follow the rotation of the movement of the right arm and right shoulder on backswing. It feels nice and tight.
    On downswing I definitely shift my lower body laterally to start the downswing, but I don’t know if I’m actually supposed to “swing with the arms around the corner” or if I’m supposed to “let” club cone around the corner because of how the right arm and shoulder “go back”
    If you could tell what “you do” in that move I’d appreciate it.

    Great stuff Nick. I am too old for the hip thrust thing.But everyone can take something from your excellent vids.For example i have trained myself & now with every club in the bag so the weight remains 90% ish on the lead left foot,ankle,leg.its work wonders ,i can break 80 again 1st time in a long time.Theres something in this for everyone.cheers,John.

    I think that stack and tilt , is the perfect golf swing protocol, apart from one thing.
    I start with my weight totaly on the left side, but lift the left heel transfering my weight to the right foot .
    Just before transition, my rotating mass is moving to the left hand side aka stack & tilt .
    The problem with keeping your weight entirely on the left side, keeps all weight forward and its very difficult to keep the clubhead on the inside plane. Ie it wants to come over the top of the plane.
    That little left / right weight shift allows it to loop onto the inside.
    Apart from the my golf swing is the same and i am scratch golfer.

    Brilliant to see this Nick. I too suffer from pull draws. I've never hut the ball better that when I changed to this swing. Everyones first comment when they hear me hit a ball is how the strike sounds totally different to everyone else's impact. And seeing this and my swing I too don't get the shaft shallow enough. I'm in similar positions to you all the way to the top and I also have a roll type release but instead of swinging down the line I go left very early. Great to be able to see Andy explain the outcomes to the changes and what they do. Keep up the great work. Always very interesting to see your videos.

    I have had the exact same problem, in a practice round yesterday my playing partner pointed out that my right hand was overpowering my swing causing me to push my shots to the left.
    I tried holding my right elbow in to stop pushing, low and behold it worked. I noticed it also let the left arm lead through and the right just power through from the bottom.
    Thanks Nick & Andy Good video It helped to reinforce something I stumbled upon.

    Nick, if you would consider addressing this question I have regarding the gem tip Andy gave you in your right shoulder placement, and action of your right arm coming in and around.
    I have worked on this and my only confusion is in how much laterally to drive hip and not “rotate” Andy seems to be telling you to “apply” force with that correctly changed position of the right arm. I think your error prior was having your right shoulder “too high” and you’d come over.
    If I copy what Andy did with you in the changes to your right shoulder and arm will that “automatically” come in impact and around the corner when I drive my lower body toward the target? 🎯
    Thank you for your content. I’m just confused how to bring the hand and clubhead “in” the grid, but this seems to “make that happen”

    Hi NIck , it looks like to me that you show cracking the whip without deeper swinging the left arm to the left (as seen in your clip on the power of the left arm, and want it too) while Mr. Andy suggests more rotation coming into follow thru, keeping the right wrist bent longer. So what to choose here.

  • @chroniclesofahighhandicapp4467

    Nick, please answer this question. when you were coming through the ball with your right shoulder protracting on the downswing and your elbow inward, are you applying a swing after you shift your weight or are you just letting the momentum of your weight shift? Bring your elbow and forearm through the ball in front of you.

    • @NickTaylorGolf
      @NickTaylorGolf  2 месяца назад +1

      Good question, in this lesson I felt more with the momentum of the weight shift, as I was trying to develop the feel with a slower swing speed

    • @chroniclesofahighhandicapp4467
      @chroniclesofahighhandicapp4467 2 месяца назад

      @@NickTaylorGolf so you’re right elbow position, which was more in front of you just came through the ball naturally this answers a couple of questions because I’ve always wondered how much exertion if any I’m supposed to apply through the ball and I think you just answered it for me. It really is an amazing feeling to piggyback on your video because I feel my elbowis kind of leading my right side motion through the ball if that makes any kind of sense
