I used to traverse that inlet in the 60s through the early 90s till I moved to central FLA..Miss the salt water for sure. Love seeing the old inlet, so please give us more, when ya can.....
You'd never get me in that little bathtub of a boat in that type of current. No life jackets on either one of them either. I guess you don't think about wearing a life jacket until you've nearly drown because you weren't wearing one. It was terrifying. I always wear one now. Things can go wrong really fast and w/o warning sometimes.
Gas tank vent on cap not open will run and die. Common on tiny outboards with built in tank Never pass a wave runner from close behind or chances are they will turn right in front of you. Many fatalities here on Long Island ny
To bad y'all didn't post me on the pontoon Saturday morning. Not everyday you see a pontoon cutting through 😂😆 nice seeing y'all.... Boyton inlet definitely the wildest..... 💪
It looks like the sharp turn gets the waves and current agitated to a degree, then the wakes from the boat traffic accentuates the waves in a very random, unpredictable way. Several boats had difficulty holding their course, particularly jet skies. Interesting views, smaller craft for the most part.
here in Canada we have thousands of fresh water lakes.. we get to boat on glass.... super comfy ride... I don't even want to ever see water like this.. why would I ???
What a pair of knuckleheads in that small tri-hull dinghy. 6" freeboard, not wearing live vests and a motor that keeps stalling, but old mate up the front keeps smoking & doesn't put his phone down.
I just got a center console, small. I agree. And yea Ive noticed from cruising Indian River Causeway I think its mostly just wake issues The mouths of these inlets look rough but near the jettys is all wake
Nothing like deciding to put a shitty outboard on your bathtub, putting 2 full grown men in it, taking it out in a rough as hell inlet, and having it stall.
That boat isn't much bigger than a bathtub. What are they doing on rough seas. The issue seems to be the fuel needs to be vented to prevent a vacuum in the fuel supply.
And Buddy Boy is too busy texting to notice they’re about to drift out to sea! If it were my boat, I’d be heading back to port to find the problem, not heading out into open ocean. It’s kinda big out there, isn’t it!
The Mako had 6in of freeboard, the little tender belongs in a pond and the Bay Craft is aptly named , a calm bay ! Granted no all are designed for this but plenty that should be capable are just terrible designs ! Note to all sea going adventurers...watch the multi hulls smash it !😎👍

Life jackets- Why do you think salt water boat passengers (most of them) don’t wear life jackets PFD? In fresh water boating, where current is just about absent, just about ALL passengers of boats wear life jackets.
Is it just me, or does anyone else doubt the sanity of people going out to sea in small open boats in conditions like these? Especially those who chose not to wear a life jacket. Utter madness! 🤔
Engine stalls... get er fired up still headed out!!!! Any idea why it died? Don't care man! She runnin now.... yeeeee haaaaaa! Let's go where no one might see were in trouble!
With a motor clearly as untrustworthy as that, a boat that would in danger of being swamped in a bathtub, and their being comprehensively equipped with safety apparatus (🙄), they still head out into the deep blue yonder 🙄
@Big Dongle It must suck to live in a place with so little freedom but just because you can’t afford a huge boat with twin outboard‘s you are no longer allowed to enjoy boating on the ocean I doubt there was anything seriously wrong with that little tiller Probably didn’t have the vent cap open enough
New Inlet guys! What do you think of the current at Boynton Inlet? 😳
Many trips to the Bahamas from that inlet. Who remebers smugglers blues by Glen fry
Years ago, got a ticket for diving off the bridge. So many of us used to do that.... oh what fun
SS minnow legend!!!!!!
It makes a good change to see something different and not just rich people's boats! Plus different kind of chop and much more current. I like it!
Love it. We used to jump of the boynton inlet bridge in 80s. The little island on the north intracoastal side was called beer can island.
Glad to know that guy's phone was more important than trying to help his buddy with the engine.
There wasn’t much he could have done to help in that little boat anyway

Okay…. Rough inlet alone is one thing…. But a rough AND busy one?!?! Can’t have any doubts under way, full send with confidence or dock it up… haha.
Fisherman in normal boats go out in all conditions.Well done showing the difference in boat ownership.
That is baffling how fast the current is going out of there! Wow!

It's a Rough Inlet with lots of Wavy Boats. 😎
@@WavyBoats Seems like a good combo
Forget about not opening the vent on top of outboard, that dinghy belongs on a small pond, not the Atlantic Ocean.
That last Mako at 7:15 seems like a very "wrong" hull design for this type of water. It reminds of a jon boat with absolutely no "V" in the front.
That was a classic 17 and it'll take way more than a 17 of today. Those little boats are tough as hell.
my hats off to the Captains of those little boats out there kickin butt
I was waiting for this one. I’ve gone through that inlet a bunch and it gets nasty!!

Was that a Bass Boat?? I sure like the sub 22' center consoles. Those are my thing :)
Maybe the angle of the camera made it seem worse then it really was but did that boat at 4:20 seem to be following dangerously close to the jet ski?

One hell of a tide change. I’m thinking this could easily be traversed at slack.
Bathtub with a stalling engine. Dangerous combination in that inlet.
I hope you got this spot on your own CHIT !!!!!
Damn, that looks like a washing machine!
That wasn’t a stalled boat, it was a stalled bathtub in the inlet.

Small center consoles = get wet quick boats. Also a rough inlet but how much of the turbulence results from what looks like a lot of boat wakes?
I just got a center console, small. I agree. And yea Ive noticed from cruising Indian River Causeway I think its mostly just wake issues

the current pushes that dinghy faster than that little 6hp does

Do sailboats ever motor through the inlet?
Never because even the smallest sail boat's mast can't clear the bridge max clearence is like 18ft. Also the bar gets really shallow.
