Unlucky or Captain error stuffing the Cigarette? 😳
Is that cigarette missing a mast? Definitely missing an engine. At least if it had a mast it could get a sail up and make some headway !
Captain error. Drives could have been trimmed up more.. tabs on the way out appeared to be neutral..hard to tell. Main thing going to slow. When I brought my Calcutta through there I had my sea gate down and I also took a big wave which filled the cockpit but ran straight out. Boat wasn't long enough to span the two waves. Tough waters if your not from the area. I boat on the GOM.
There's this thing called throttle and this other thing called trim. This so called captain needs to learn how to use them.

The mystery boat was a Hinkley, manufactured in Maine. Very high-end, beautifully crafted.

I’ve been watching these haul over videos every now and then for a bit more than a year, and I will never understand why folks stand up/move around in the forward end of the vessel while the captain is battling the cross current out of the inlet. Dentistry and chiropractics must be very busy in that part of Miami.
I wonder what the percentage of Dentists are boat captains?
In my experience is the Captain fault. He should not allow the to be seated there.

They should name it Concussion Inlet. Totally agree with hectorbarreto, as skipper you are responsible. Not only will you cause harm but you’ll also be liable. There’s gotta be a lawyer with a camera at the inlet who’ll meet injured people along with the ambulance at the dock!

Mystery boat is a Hinckley (length unknown). You can tell by the “winged foot of Mercury” each boat sports.
Built in Maine, they were mainly a sailboat manufacturer until they came out with these “picnic boats”.
They are custom built and the attention to every detail is shocking (example: all the screw heads align fore and aft). I was lucky to Captain a Hinckley 59 sloop.
I thought the hull design resembled a lobster boat. Georgeous boat.

Comfortable as heck offshore. Below we were cuddled below like puppies eating popcorn, watching movies, on deck …. Armageddon.

I think if i could afford a 1/2 million dollar boat, I wouldn’t wash the interior with saltwater.
Pretty sure a 1/2 million dollar boat is made to handle some water in it.

And no way he's got any money left to get it cleaned, huh? he had just enough to buy the boat and one tank of gas and now he's broke, right? He's just going to get it home with his old junker pinto and park it under the trailer park canopy until it sells.
Yup, saltwater corrodes quickly and he got it in every nook and cranny. Then it baked in the sun for a bit.☹️
I'd say it's all about trimming the engine and adjusting the speed to ride the wave instead of being a tough guy and battling your way through it
That cigarette guy was a real Wal-Mart sailor. He was driving the most capable boat of the bunch, but couldn’t handle it. 🙄

Unknown boat made a nice entry to the inlet and by far the skipper on the Chris did a fine job heading out. Matched speed to conditions. The end out in the short chop sucks. Tall waves and short wave length just make a terrible transition to open water but nice job.

The blue hull is a Hinckley Yachts Taleria 43, I think. Definitely a Hinkley, not positive on the model, but would say the Taleria.

@@lieutbob39 Since it is a Mariners Club boat, I would venture that as many ports to dock in, that day use boat may have been chartered to transport them or being seasonal in Fl. this time of year, the club may transfer directly with the appointed Captain at the helm.
I’m 61 yrs old and never been a boater, but I’m fascinated by these videos. So, not bring a boater, I never understood why boats have such a little windshield like the one in the first clip. I didn’t realize until now that the small windshield is designed to deflect the water OVER the cab the way it does. Genius. Yet so simple.
That Boston Whaler is the best designed mono hull small boat in the world.

The navy blue hulled mystery boat is a Hinckley Picnic Boat. They’re powered with dual jet drives.
I think it's easy to bust the cigs ballz (arm chair quarter back style) but it's better to be careful and stuff it at 5mph, get wet, or stuff it at 50, and send someone to the ER. Also trim and tabs aren't magical devices that can conquer any sea... Could have used a little throttle though 😂
Just watching this a Chris craft got his act together.... Of course your going to be hit hard but the engines was trimmed and he was adjusting his speed to meet the waves

That woman in the second boat didn’t get back up after falling, and the captain turned immediately back to shore, so I’m pretty sure she was hurt-possibly a broken bone.

The guy in the whaler seems to know how to maneuver the inlet.. you go to the side and skirt the big breakers you will hit going straight out.
