    Hey all!!
Since my last video was sharing mainly about what I experienced...I decided to bring you a 3 part series breaking it all down to help you make the decision for surgery or to help you not have the surgery.
Part 1 is everything that led up to me saying yes to surgery. Accepting my reality. The things I was frightened about, things that I knew would be a gamble--and things that I desired to have in life over anything else.
And like I said in my video: Here are a list of Nightshades and their reason:
Members of the family Solanaceae, common nightshades include:
    - White (but not sweet) potatoes
    -Eggplant
    -Tomatoes
-Peppers, both the eye-watering chilies and the sweeter bell peppers
-Any spices made from peppers, like paprika, red pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper (although black pepper is a different plant).

Thanks for being so candid about your journey to getting a j pouch. I am months away from getting mine done. I am surprised your surgeon said that j pouches last only 20 years. My surgeon who has plenty of experience said j pouches don't really fail and that her hospital has been doing them since the 80s and they don't see those people coming back to get them reversed. Who knows maybe in 20 years there will be advancements that can improve your j pouch success anyways. Hope all is well!

      Chris C hi!
Congrats on your decision and best of luck to you!!!!
Good point---and it's GREAT to hear other doctors experiences or perspectives!
I think my surgeon just wanted to be extremely transparent with me to be open to every possibility good or bad. :)
But I agree---I bet they'll have more advanced options in the next 20 years!
