- This is the most epic ridge hike in Switzerland. It goes from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock high above the Swiss village Stoos and Lake Lucerne on the other side.
🏔️ About this ridge hike:
The Stoos ridge hike is a stunning walk along a high path in Switzerland, known for its amazing views. As you walk, you'll see mountains and valleys all around, making you feel like you're on top of the world. The hike is exciting but not too tough, and starts with a unique, steep funicular ride up (steepest in the world) to the Swiss village Stoos. Then you will hop onto a chairlift to reach the ridge hike. The hike takes about 2-3 hourse and concludes with another cable car ride down to Stoos again.

Walking a ridge line can be crazy scary when the wind picks up. Even here on our humble Mount Hollywood (Griffith Park), I was tempted to drop and crawl to keep from getting swept off.
I guess the wind might not be that bad if the mountains are near the lakes, not the sea. I also felt that I would get swept off when I climbed Arther's seat at Edinburgh which is near the Northern Sea. , and the wind was hilarious. Airplanes struggled to land because of the wind I heard.

Die Arbeitslosigkeit in Europa ist in der Schweiz am tiefsten. Der Grundlohn ist hier höher als andere Europäische länder. Wer hier sehr Arm ist, ist selber Schuld.

I agree its wonderful and my response in no way contradicts your thoughts. It just set off a number of thoughts that came to mind with regard to grafitti and how it contrasts with nature.
This is wonderful but rare in a capitalist country. Far more typical of social democrat run countries in Europe. Is it case of the freedom of capitalism including the freedom of graffiti? Also, is there an effective way to control this. I met a young trekker in Nepal from Finland who listed his love as Art and not the family business as his dream, and his last job was taking kids out to clean and create grafitti (in permissible areas) in his home city. Also, rare to see graffiti in rural tourist areas in almost all countries but can one regard something as classic as Mt. Rushmore as being a form of grafitti? The statue of liberty obviously fits its very urban location. Or even the wonderful man made purposeful structures like golden gate bridge or glass bridge over grand canyon, as akin to this. Obviously totally different in terms of formality and approval but still, at some level a very personal expression. My point being when does nuisance end and beauty begin. Such a fine balance. My favorite example of achieving this human/nature balance is Macha Pichu where a setting without man would be astounding yet somehow man has at least retained the level of beauty (changed it of course) and even possibly exceeded the original. I am sure nature has no problem with being improved in a tiny way. And humanity does belong here and maybe our goal shouldn't be to stop everything but rather to be more careful with how we live with everything else.

One of the most beautiful hiking trails Ive seen on RUclips. Im only used to hiking on open land with barely visible paths, so this is a luxury of having the way clearly marked for you but its such a stunning scenery!! Might have to visit.

Switzerland is a hiker's paradise. The hiking infrastructure is top notch with clearly marked trails, signage (except for the more advanced and alpine trails, but that's the point), and trains and gondolas to get you up or down. Best of all, they usually lead to a restaurant in the middle of nowhere where you can relax and refresh.

@anita8232 Hi, I hope you are going up Mont Blanc! We toured Ned, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy for 10 months in a motorhome and MT Blanc and the Dolomites was the best thing we did. Wait for a clear day, go up in the first gondola with the hikers before the tours arrive. Hope you are used to a little thin air, the scenery will also take your breath away too. The price and as per the reviews, it is worth it.

I’ve been up to the Fronalpstock a few times and have longed to do this hike but it would take me three times the recommended time because I have trouble going uphill so I’ve never been able to devote enough time to do it. I have been to point 15:58 on your video from the Fronalpstock side. So wonderful to see it from the other direction.

I will look forward to this hike some day - which month was this filmed? The hike from First to Schynige Platte is my favourite so far with stunning views of Brienzesee on the north side of the ridge and Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau to the south. Absolutely stunning on a clear day. Caught the last train down from Schynige Platte with only a minute to spare!
This was filmed in September. Normally you will find cows there as well

For those who have hiked this, can someone with a fear of heights still manage? As long as I can see ground on either side, I'm good, and it looks like there's almost always a bit of a slope on either side of the trail. I am not ok with exposure with sheer drops next to the trail. Sometimes things look different in real life than in pictures, so for anyone with a healthy fear of heights and that has hiked Stoos, how was it?
