For the life of me, I cannot get this to work
All the paint just sticks to the first page, rendering the gelli plate empty
It will either be your print copy or the amount of paint! Good quality laser print copy & not too much paint! 😘 cheers

Because of awesome people like yourself inspiring me, I’ve bought a few supplies to try my hand at using a gelli transfer plate.

This is GORGEOUS. Are you using a regular printer? Ink jet or laser? Does it matter?

@@FroyleArt I’ve heard if you print a black and white image on color SETTINGS / color laser it improves the quality of the black and white. Have you tried that ? Sorry for the caps it’s for clarity.

So you put an ordinary magazine page on the 'inked' gelli plate and it automatically picks up and removes the coloured part of the magazine image? I can't see how this is possible? There must be more to this process than given on this video???
I have a whole playlist, have a look at a full length video. Colour laser copies work much better than magazine images, cheers
I have heard that the toner works as a resist. But it looks like the toner works as more of an adhesive to keep the black acrylic paint on it, while the light areas are easily picked up by the paper and taken away. At least that how it looks to me.:)
How long will the print last before fading away?
The print won’t fade if you are using good quality paints! 👍🏼
Can you transfer images from any paper source?
You can use good quality laser copy prints and some glossy magazines, cheers
What is the type of paper which you use in..
I print on Japanese sketch pad rice paper or wet strength tissue 👍🏼 cheers
I have a japanese calendar so i was trying to transfer one image and the paint was transfer to the image instead of the image to the gel plate. I just ruined a beautiful japanese image...
It always depends on the print copy that you are using, cheers
What kind of photocopy do you use?

Hi, how long do you leave the paint before putting the image??? I just try and the paint was transfer to the image, I stead of the image to the gel plate 😢
Not long, but if your using a magazine it needs to be very high gloss, cheers

@@nicholasberdysheff8655in case you never figured this out, it might be your printer. Most printers are inkjet, you need a laser jet printer.

Just know kiddies image transfers are not that easy. This video makes it look like it is that fast. First it isn't. This video does not indicate if it is an INK JET print a MAGAZINE phone or a laser copy. Also you usually have to have a very high contrasty image. If you get frustrated from making image transfers.. just know it is a lot harder than it looks...
