Here we go with Episode 2! Can't explain to you how full on this week was, each day reclaiming more of the home and making it water tight. Thank you to everyone who helping you can check them out in the description. Also a big thank you for you watching this video.. you as a viewer are as massive part of this. If you can like, comment, share, subscribe it all helps and means the world!
Depending on the spec of the materials used, a flat roof will probably last 20 years, or so... I suspect that one needs re-felting in its entirety (which might reveal further probs, of course).
God bless you honey and everyone of the men helping Barbara
Not to be nasty,to Barbara its her home but that house has,had its day.
The amount of time and money put in to it,is not going to be worth the actual value of it.
I know it sounds horrible but a developer, would pay a handsome price for the land.
Barbara,could sail away,to warmer climates.
How kind of you all for helping Barbara. I think the house needs a lot of work doing to get it right .how could anyone live like that let alone a elderly woman .it can't be doing her health any good bless her .I hope you get all the help you need .God bless allof you ❤❤
Poor poor lady . Living like this. It so great that you are helping her and the other fella,s too. Your so kind and a life saver. How can councils or other agency's let things get so bad without helping. Thank god for you guys. Well done.
We need another fundraiser for her like we did with Norman, the house can't be left in this state
It's going to take a massive plan, plus Barbara has to be willing to accept the help indoors which will be the hardest part. Thanks for watching
❤❤❤❤Lots hugs and love to your team
I hope she'll say yes to it
I said yes for help to fix my house. They raised $120,000 and transformed house. New windows, doors, roof and handicapped bathrooms. But sometimes you have to swallow your pride.
Good idea, I can't believe she's survived living like that for , what must of been going on for 10 years maybe more
These are real men! We need more like you guys! I am a 70year old grandma and know how hard all this work is. So sweet to invite Barbara for dinner, too.🙂
Exactly right! I will be 68 on Tuesday and I have not seen the likes of this before! These chaps are just amazing!
Hope all you guys are in London for St. Georges day, we need people like you to turn out and support England
Love the scarecrow ❤
I agree taking Barbara for dinner was a wonderful gesture ❤
@grandmaoldschool7011 I see that same sentence every time there’s a video similar to this one, “We need more people like you guys!”… There are a lot of real men who work hard daily.. and women! They’re all around us. We do have more people like these men. Lots of people helps people in need and they don’t ask for money either. There’s several RUclips channels with people with similar videos that are helping with so many different things, including cleaning and mowing lawns and fixing and maintenance on someone’s home. We definitely got enough real men and real women, too! Isn’t that fantastic and awesome? 😁
A huge shout-out to everyone who donated time, labor, materials, and, most of all, compassion to Barbara. You are all heroes without capes.
They could make capes for the whole crew out of those mats and mats of ivy! Sterling work by these gents.
just watched last video Ben vowed to not stop you can tell its lifted Barb up mentally she comes out all dressed up it was memorising
I love that you invited her out for a meal. What a beautiful sentiment
ME TOO!!! 😍
Aw inviting her out for a meal ❤ so much Empathy you guys! Legends!!

Thank you Sue, appreciate you watching! Have a lovely weekend
Is there a social worker on board baby steps process Ben thanks for caring 🙏
Hi Ben and everyone working so hard for Barbara the work that has been done in two episodes is absolutely fantastic and as for the lad's tacking the ivy off of everything I've had to remove ivy myself and know what hard work and thankless work it is, All of you guy's are doing a fantastic job for Barbara well done and keep up this good work your doing and Ben a big thank you to your wife for letting you work away from home I know some wife's don't like there Husband working away because there left at home without there man.
Sue, my feelings exactly. 😊
Breaks my heart to see an elderly woman living in this condition. Thank you for helping her. Shocking to see the amount of topsoil that had formed on the roof.
There was better topsoil on that roof than in my whole garden..! LOL Maybe we need to let the Lord take care of gardening..? Although, Lord, better on the GROUND than on the roof, no..? LOL ❤❤❤ Great job lads..! ❤❤
Yeah, makes you realise she was not an elderly woman when she started neglecting the place.
@@jonathansimon6433 Give Barbara some grace. We do not know what her life experience has been.
Allowing all these men (strangers) to work on her home, and allowing you inside to pack up her things to get access to the windows is HUGE! I believe if you gain her trust, like you did with Norman, she'll be able to accept some help. It might not look the way WE would want it, but anything would be an improvement. Great job - all of you!
You're not just helping Barbara, you're helping the whole neighborhood out. Blessings to All!
That's what our Habitat for Humanity in the USA strives to do! One house fixed up in neighborhood inspires others to work on their homes. Interesting phenomenon.
Love the Dad-crow!! You guys do such an incredible amount of work. No wonder Barbara looks a bit bewildered at times. Thank you for helping her!
Exactly Jackie, she must be so overwhelmed can't imagine how she feels. Dad as a scarecrow is one of my favourites. thanks for watching and have a great weekend
@@FlawlessCleaningServices the outtakes were fun with dad's scarecrow. giggles
"Dad-crow"!!! Love it! 😅
@@FlawlessCleaningServices Dad cracks me up lol, great work lads.
Mad respect, boys.
Thank you for tuning in and commenting!
I know what's it like to be over 70 and alone. Bless all of you. From Oregon, USA

They do TV programmes about hoarding so why can't they do programmes to show how some elderly people are living and how kind hearted, conscientious men tackle things for free..time is precious for us all!
That roof breathed a huge sigh of relief when that ivy was removed.
I removed ivy from only a concrete block wall, and the work involved just to do that was crazy! It took me fully three years to finally kill all the bits and pieces trying to regrow. What you guys accomplished is amazing.
Nature had virtually reclaimed the entire property prior to your arrival.
Can't argue with your kindness and generosity
Thank you to everyone on this crew that helped Barbara!
We all love watching the satisfying cleaning and chopping but it’s your compassion and kindness that we’re all here for. Keep up the great work.
That doorstep!! Level, trustworthy footing is SO IMPORTANT when you're unsteady (I'm not elderly yet but I'm disabled, so similar deal). You have no idea what these little touches are going to mean to Barbara. Magic.
Poor lady. Buckets in her bedroom. Sopping wet chipboard. I wish all vulnerable people could receive the kind of loving care you've shown Barb.
This series of Barbara videos is EXCELLENT and one of the best adverts for young people going into the trades I can imagine!
I was thinking the same thing!
Just the sheer weight of all that soil and vegetation on that house is crazy! How that didn’t collapse is a miracle! Thank you for sharing this incredible transformation journey.
I know the house was almost derelict, but all your efforts have prevented another person from becoming homeless and another burden on the social services system. Thanks to you all involved.
I think I am saying this for everyone who is in a possition like this poor lady that you are ALL ANGELS for doing this for her, there is no way she could have afforded to have this done herself and I give a MASSIVE cheer to the people who helped you in doing this massive job and to all your sponsors, WELL DONE ALL YOU PEOPLE, keep up the good work. It was a pleasure watching it.
It was so kind of you to invite Barbara to the pub for a meal.
I worked in my yard today until nearly dark. I'm thankful, as a 68 yr old lady, that I can still do yard work. Each year I try to think about how I can make my yard less high maintenance because I know as the years continue to roll, if I'm blessed to live, it will get to the point that I can not do the heavy work. Today, as I worked I thought of you guys and was looking forward to coming inside and watching episode 2!! Ben you are simply the best. Your fan from SC, USA.
To all the people working with Barbara to heal her house.....thank you so much. To Barbara, thank you for embracing this community. A wise friend once reminded me when I kept refusing aid, that sometimes, the greatest gift we can give is allowing others to help us and be apart of our healing. And he was so right. You are obviously a very strong lady. Hope that all continues to improve, you deserve wonderful things happening to you. Stay safe all.
We sure don't know how some of us are so very lucky in life. It's very sad to see when a person's beloved passes and when your alone....things get to such a state like this poor ladies home. It's men like yourself's that have the biggest HEART and kindness to understand that elderly need help. Thank-you so much for all that you do. GOD, see's and puts you all in his blessings.
🕊️🕊️🙏❤️
You brought tears to my eyes. I agree with you 100% - God sees and knows what's in the heart. Hello from St. Petersburg, Florida.
Completely Irene, I have been receiving nominations and it's more common than we think. Hoping the videos raise awareness, get us looking out for others and we shall see how many this channel can help. thank you so much for the kind words!
@@FlawlessCleaningServices I agree. It is more common that people realise. There would be no way the elderly can pay to have all of this work done and of course, they can't physically do the work. That and a sad belief that they don't want to be a burden to anyone, means they won't let people help easily. Its so sad. What I love about YT creators is they can say it will be good content for their channel and elderly folk love to help people. So its a win, win. I honestly think there would have been a terrible tragedy in this case, if you hadn't stepped in. You are all, lifesavers. Nobody should underestimate the amazing contribution you are making to your community and peoples lives.
Bless everyone helping with this project. It must have been awful for Barbara to live in such desperate conditions.
Hats off to the folks who volunteered and donated to helping this lady.
25 years in policing ive seen this sitiation often ... Husband passes away or sickness and the outside gets neglected and then its a massive amount of time or money to get ontop of things and they cant do it. We also see people hoarding or older people jusy left die in the family home... Relatives move away and family isnt around or they have any... Sad situation ... Glad ben and his dad and crew are helping... Awesome work guys..
So hard to see older people without options. Their family may be deceased, as mine are. People don't want to help others because they're too busy, don't have money, or whatever. I'm very blessed to have a couple of neighbors who check on me. Not everyone is so lucky. And it's embarrassing to admit or ask for help for something this massive. I was fortunate enough to have home insurance and recently had my roof replaced and siding and gutters replaced because of storm damage. Otherwise I would have to live with it as is because I don't have tens of thousands to repair it myself. You all are doing a great service. Praying she feels comfortable enough to allow access to her home to get repairs done. And that enough can be raised to cover the cost.
❤ similar for me, with a kind neighbour, and 10 years to get earthquake damage repaired properly.
Love rolling up those Roof Rugs 👍👍😺
It was so heavy!!
@@FlawlessCleaningServices it LOOKED bloody heavy !🙀
That was massive 😅
What you guys do to help people is a real inspiration. God bless all of you who work so hard to help those in need. Many blessings from Missouri USA!
You guys are amazing. Not just a Cleaning Service, more like renovators. Bless you all.
It looks like the entire roof needs replacing. 😢 Great work guys. Thanks for helping this lady. She looks overwhelmed.
it's a miracle poor Barbara's roof din't cave in long ago with all the ivy on there, thankfully when its repaired she'll be warm and dry this winter coming.
People like you make me proud to be British.
Ben, you, your loving, faithful, Dad, and your entire team are fantastic. What a big difference you all have already made to Barbara's life and to her home. Many thanks to all of you and God bless you all.
Seien Sie beschützt und gesegnet für ihre Taten. Dieser Dienst an Mitmenschen ist das schönste was ein Mensch für einen anderen tun kann. Genau auf diese Weise kann eine Gesellschaft heilen! Grossen Dank ❤
This is part of what “Love thy neighbor” is. You guys are awesome! 💕
I may be an Atheist, but if there's one thing I agree with in Christianity, it's "Love thy neighbour".
So touching to see this large crew at work to bring some peace and safety to Barbara. I pray that she will seek any help she needs in the future. She's going to enjoy the evening out for some fish and chips. Thank you for inviting her. Bless you all. 🙏🏻
nice to meet you again. I also went to mow the lawn and encountered a snake
There must have been so much wildlife living the high life in that ivy and brushwood. Which unfortunately translates to mice and who knows what else getting in to poor Barbara's home! This is going to be an improvement for her in all possible ways.
You are all angles to help her. How scared life must have been for her. Thank you all. ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much for watching, please don't underestimate your part of this as a viewer! It means the world

I love seeing the Ivy get ripped off. Horrible stuff, plants and building don't mix. First thing I did when I moved into my house was get all the ivy off the walls and take down all the trees overhanging the roof. You guys do amazing work, just hope someone nearby can help Barbara keep on top of that garden in the future.
I was thinking of planting ivy to grow on the brick at my house. This has changed my mind!
For every one of you working on Barbara's house I would love to come over and drop off some warm homemade caramel rolls. Somehow I'm not going to be able to because I live in Bemidji Minnesota. Many thanks. May the wonderful work you do and kindness you show come back around to you and your families.
A HUGE thank you to all of those who have given their time and expertise in helping to repair Barbara’s home!!! We never know what someone has gone through to bring them to the place they are now. Thank you Ben and Paul for helping those who have been forgotten. From cleaning school yards, veteran memorials, skate parks, play grounds, walking paths and the list goes on. May all of you be blessed immeasurably. Watching from across the pond in Savannah, GA.
All the gents helping are heroes and wonderful people. It is reassuring to know that you all are taking care of your elders. Thank you so much for helping Barb, she will be warm and safe because of you.😊❤
Yes. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! How can they leave a beautiful property and an old lady destitute? Where are the family and relatives? Congratulations, Ben. To you, your father and your valuable team. Excellent weekend. Rest easy🤗❤
Thank you Rejane, I think it's more common than we all think.. It's so sad. I hope you have a great weekend
Where are the neighbors? Property this overgrown lowers the value of the other properties in the neighborhood. Wouldn’t enlightens self interest have these people helping?
@@TheSuzberry Excellent point. A little maintenance over the years would have prevented this. Even if they didn't do it out of kindness, just keeping their property values up and preventing it from looking untidy would have gone a long way.
...why is it the neighbours responsibility? Those of us who are paying council tax, are paying more and for adult social care every year! Where the hell is that money going?!!
@@vinnparaffin6082 - are you familiar with the concept of ‘enlightened self interest’?
God bless you and everyone helping because this is a huge job. This lady will feel like she has a new home by time you’re finished. Thank you for everything you do 🙏💗💗
Another BAFTA award-winning performance by Paul in his remake of The Wizard of Oz.
Great job so far. You guys are great.
It's a reminder never to give up. Even if it seems pointless to try, things can get better with enough help and kindness. God bless you, and thank you.
Amen to that! You never know how far kindness will stretch, grateful to have all these people involved and coming together to help
It's such a pleasure to watch a bunch of handymen blessing an old lady.
What a truly wonderful thing you are doing. I pray that there will be enough funds to get her totally sorted out - the windows, the whole roof, repairing all the siding, getting the inside all sorted out and finally cleaning up the entire yard/garden. Let me know if there will be a go fund me page. God bless you all!!! You go dad!!!
Barbara’s house is worse than Norman’s. What a blessing she has with the help of all of you.
Ben, your dad is so funny wearing the scarecrow costume!😂 what you and the other young men are doing is beyond words! You are literally risking life and limb doing that work! I certainly hope that the owner, Barbara, totally understands and appreciates what you all are doing! That is decades and decades of neglect you are trying to fix!😮 take care, and God bless ALL of you!
I feel badly for this lady. I'm sure that house is full of mold. You guys are legends, keep up the good work!
Thank you all so much!! I know when this lady goes to bed at night she feels a sense of joy and expectation she hasn't had in a long time. God bless you all.
OMG Ben, you made me cry when you invited Barbara to a pub for fish and chips!!! You blokes are such a blessing and it is awesome to watch you fixing up her property. G-d bless all of you for what you do, just amazingly good people and you renew my faith in humanity!!! Thank you so much. ♥ ♥ ♥ p.s. your dad makes a GREAT scarecrow, Ben! 😄 I had such a good laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Job that everyone is doing and having a little fun doing it. God Bless you all.
Appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching
What you do is incredible - there’s not just the physical stuff but all the project management. Also, your camera placement and editing is awesome. It’s fascinating seeing up close all those skills. Far better than any TV makeover programme. You really make the viewer feel involved. Can’t wait until Part 3.
Absolutely incredible work! I love the bloopers at the end and your dad always makes me laugh. Barbara does seem a bit overwhelmed by it all, but everyone is so kind and supportive. The house already looks ten times better. Thank you for all you do for others! ❤
Oh my goodness, this poor lady desperately needed help! Thank You Ben and all volunteers. Loving this series!
The scale of needed work is insane: huge progress thus far!

My heart goes out to all the Barbara’s, Sheila’s and Normans who have ended up in this state 😢
So sad to see, but good on you and all people who are helping her
Loved watching all that horrible ivy coming off. Kudos to the guy in the light blue t-shirt who was making sure every last little bit came off. Your dad is hilarious with his get ups. Looking forward to seeing the next instalment.
You all are Barbara's sons. Giving her the big fix up will help her so much. I would love to donate for more to be done, I know how much upkeep a MCM aged house takes, and it's really hard on a fixed income.
Your team did great work! I'm glad new windows are going in. I wish an entire new roof could be put on that backroom. Or rebuild that room entirely....
I cannot breathe from laughing at the bloopers!! I want thank all the companies, like EPT, Tress, and so many more that are helping Ben and Da to help Barbara live in dignity. Many many thanks to volunteers. Great start! Fantastic video.

I cannot tell how bad I feel for Barbara, living like this for all these years. Poverty strikes, life becomes indecent. You guys are saints.
Heartbreaking to watch... but very glad there are wonderful people out there like yourselves looking after Barbara.
Oh my, my heart goes out to this lovely woman and look at you and Dad have got the gang together rescuing the house from nature! And fixing the roof and helping her through all that involved. Very kind of all of you.
Barbara needs a better place to live! She is not safe and secure there, and obviously cannot manage by herself. She needs a lot of support! Thank you Ben and Dad for the wonderful work you do! God Bless you all!
Barbara's house is in such a sorry state, it made me cry. A big shout out and many thanks to you, your dad and the many volunteers doing all you can to make the house liveable again. Can't waitbfor part 3.
I just love these large community projects. Barbara must have felt like she was buried alive under all of that... plus drowning. Unimaginable. Everyone involved in this is restoring my faith. Thank you so much for what you do!
With 271,000 subscribers, all it would take is to give £1 each and this would be plenty to have the site cleared and a brand new fully-insulated log cabin home or prefab installed. I'm sure there are multiple issues awaiting attention inside. It would be far easier to have something brand new erected. But great work as always. Many thanks to all those that are helping on this project.
The money had to be sent directly to this guys, and not sent here because RUclips will take their cut!
@@iJSabelle007 I gave to Norman's Go Fund Me appeal last year. Ben should open a Paypal account so that anyone from anywhere in the world could give in their own currency. They don't charge anything. Thanks for the info.
Yes and we don't know if Barb will accept the money and the help to renovate her house completely
But could she afford to keep up the yard? What can the woman take care of in the future. I have a condo myself and I am 73.
@@roxannedulin1673 Good point. Perhaps she should consider moving. I had to move 2 years ago due to my body disintegrating due to old age. I could no longer manage my gardens or the stairs in my home. I downsized to a one bedroomed flat with communal gardens that we pay a maintenance charge for. I can still potter around and maintain a few pot plants but my days of spending hours gardening are long gone. Perhaps the social workers who attend her need to have a frank conversation with her. It would be the best thing all round.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL! WONDERFUL WORK! God bless you all and Barbara too!
If you tire of Paul you can send him across the pond. He can provide comic relief at my house. You're a legend, Ben!
Ben, Let’s start by saying you are one incredible human being. What this world lacks these days is empathy. What you do is priceless. I hope you rub off on some of your viewers . I think you and your crew have done a marvelous job jumping in to help Barbara . I agree she needs as much help as Norman and fundraiser would be a great idea. She needs a brand new roof and some windows. Keep up the incredible work you do. Much love from 🇺🇸
All of you are a blessing for helping this elderly couple out. Thank you for all you do. Great job.
You certainly have taken on a big 'Blessing' here ! Cannot believe Barbara is living in such dreadful conditions, thank goodness for you, your Dad and the companies that are giving their time. Goes to show there are lovely people in this world.
Short but sweet one this week. Hopefully Barbara accepts extended help so her home can become safe again. Thankyou to you and your dad and all the team for helping transform this garden and home. ❤
Your dad just looked so funny. That was the perfect skit.
Glad you got that mess off the roof and got some repairs done.
Wishing you and everyone involved the best of success with this project
All of you helping her out are angels.❤I don’t know if there are services available beyond what you are doing to help bring her home up to code in your country so that she can continue to age in the place closest to her heart. Her home
I live in the UK and am completely baffled that Barbara's house hasn't been declared unfit for human habitation and Barbara rehoused. I would like to know what help has been sought for her from social services and the council to mention just two. No one should be living like this and I wouldn't have believed that anyone in the UK is living like this if I hadn't seen this video. The only reason that I can think of, for her still living there, is that she has simply refused to leave. That is her right of course, but thank goodness all these wonderful, selfless and incredibly hardworking people are helping her.
Ben our lovely plonker just love you and your dad. Huge job you are a diamond.
That house is a health hazard. House Barbara in a temporary shelter while rebuild her a decent house in her property. This is beyond repair.
the main building has still got leeway for renovation and restoration, but that extension with the flat roof yeah that needs a total rebuild by now with water damage and such.
It’s literally rotting
I think it is people like you and your helpers that deserve to be recognised in the honours list not the prime minister's favourites!!
I used to love the vines on houses. Romantic in a fantasy sort of way. But since I started watching your videos, I’ve seen just how destructive they can be. I don’t like them anymore. Look at what they did to Barbara’s house.
Thank you Kress for your help with the tools used in this project.
Thank you all for your dedication to make things better for Barbara.
And, thank you to my fellow subscribers. We do what we can to help.
Came here to say this!
From Canada … great job once again. It’s heartbreaking to see how much Barbara has been struggling. God bless you all for helping her
You are the best group of caring and talented people. Thanks for giving this woman a new lease on life.
I love your kind approach of always asking if it's ok go forth with the jobs. It's important that while it's in poor condition and needs fixing it's still her home and her call.
There is still the issue if there is mold in the house as to whether it is safe for her to live there or not. I the US we have health checks that can be requested on an individual. The Health Dept. And code enforcement check out the house and if deemed an unsafe environment the person is removed.
Amazing how many came to help. Love the bed toss.
Barbara is so bless with your help. Keep yourself and dad safe. Bless you all.
Thanks so much
