gosh. I found zappa through this song when I was a little 10-year-old girl... Non of my friends still dig his music like I do, quite a shame. ZAPPA FOREVER
I'm hung up on this... Frank is such a stud. Makes me want to get out there and give it a go... I'll be dead before too long anyway, may as well find a disco girl?
I just went to my little sister You Tube page found this video on one of her Playlist. It put a big smile on my face and brought a tear to my eyes knowing now that all those years when we were kids, I would as my parents said, torture the family and neighbors with this music. Well here I am now 60, my sister passed away a few years ago, and im just learning that all that so called torture paid off to my baby sister. A lot of people dont get Zappa. He's kind of like Trump, you love him or you cant stand him.. I love him, a musical genius and the most underrated guitarist ever. Love you sis, RIP.
man that was killer!!! so glad i grew up with zappa i saw them in 76 great show but my mag wheels on my 1969 mustang were stolen that night, ....what a nightmare. saw them twice after that but i didn't drive .
Disco Boy, No one understands, But thank the lord That you still got hands To help you do that jerkin' that'll Blot out yer Disco Sorrow! FZ, once again, takes one of the more absurd slices of pop culture and distills it down, honest and true, to its very essence - and does it to a bitchin' great backing track!
Terry is really in the zone here.... one of my top ten drummers... I love watchin' him play... for that matter... all the motherfuckers that played with Frank!
1:55 i wabt know what you think was happening here? did gail ever got mad by all this? zappa was realy liking that girl? or its just an act ? say something
Looksik here No it's not part of the act, Frank probably did have sex with the girl in question, Gail knew all about Frank having groupies on the road, he admits it in an interview ... when asked what Gail thought, Frank replied " she grumbles, but she's my wife" I guess she just put up with it.
"They stole my poodle from last night" I assume 'Last night' was the show where Frank did his poodle lecture routine, with the stuffed poodle, and the guy got to keep it after the show, but it got stolen.
@DerekAKimbro They stole my poodles from last years concert.Frank's main theme with both 76 and 77 concerts in NY was poodle issues using the pink poodle he had on stage both years.
@Sleepwalker1977.Zappa was married to Kathryn J. "Kay" Sherman from 1960 to 1964. In 1967, he married Adelaide Gail Sloatman, with whom he remained until his death from prostate cancer in 1993. Dale Bozzio played Mary on Joe's Garage...To whom I was referring
Im not sure really not if that girl and guy were apart of the theatrics. When me and my uncle saw him in the early 90s he was saying during this song it was tradition to throw toilet paper, "Thank god you still have your hand" You can make the conection
I wish this part of the movie highlighted Roy Estrada's vocal performance...He's definitely my favorite singer and Mother of all time. Listen to him perform "Oh, In The Sky" by The Mothers and I promise that he will be your favorite.
TheHolyReality no he didnt. he didnt approve of their lifestyle but he listened to velvet underground and even did a reading of naked lunch with William S Burroughs. As long as you got your work done, didnt do it on tour and didnt get the cops involved he didnt mind.
exactly! he also used to admire Jimi Hendrix a lot... his attitude was a bit like Bukowski's: drugs are not for me, but if they work for you, and you can handle them, you're responsible for what you do... real respect for everyone's freedom, and absolute freedom from "morality"...
@crazygeek777 No,angel was a 4 night attendent in that series only.Frank already created the lyrics. but remember janet the planet in this movie/concert? she married Denny Wally and they're still married!!
Then there was another time: Sax-revolution, the idea of universal brotherhood and love .. people were more liberated .. but most of them - drugs ruined ..
Would be interested in seeing what ever happened to angel.I know janet the planet married denny walley and I believe they're still married! I remember it was almost 8 pm,I was outside the palladium oct 31st 77. this scalper seller yells out."who wants a front row seat"?. of course I said, "right hear dude!". He only charged me $20.It was the best value of any $20 spent in my life.
This and Live At The Filmore East (June 1971) are 2 of the greatest live performances, period. Never was another like Zappa, and hasn't been since.
Agree
BONGO FURY....bongo fury
A rock concert that makes fun of rock concerts. Classic Zappa.
gosh. I found zappa through this song when I was a little 10-year-old girl... Non of my friends still dig his music like I do, quite a shame. ZAPPA FOREVER
I saw Frank Zappa at Jones Beach,BEST concert I've ever seen! We miss you Frank
This song sums up the disco era perfectly.
Zappa hit the nail on the head with this song.
Frank's very under-rated vocal talents!
Beautifully dynamic. What a band.Peace
FZ had a weakness for groupies
I love this song it's so catchy. And Bozzios drum dlsolo in the beginning is so powerful
That drummer is a REAL rocker, Rock on in Heaven Zappa!
fuckin top notch
Zappa's ghost for president!
Zappa forever...
Quelle intro! Drums de Bozzio + grosse caisse d'orchestre (huge bass drum) de Ed Mann. Un son fantastique.
Zappa is the best.
No hay palabras para describir sus genialidades, fantasía, creatividad, ........tremendo.
They stole my poodle and *unintelligible!*
-dude in the front row who’s REALLY high
I'm hung up on this... Frank is such a stud. Makes me want to get out there and give it a go... I'll be dead before too long anyway, may as well find a disco girl?
Oh i love the guitar riff around 3:05
Oh man I wish this movie was still here on youtube.
I just went to my little sister You Tube page found this video on one of her Playlist. I had missed this piece! My batteries are full again!!
Best regards, Georgios Marinakis, Istanbul, Turkey :)
man that was killer!!! so glad i grew up with zappa i saw them in 76 great show but my mag wheels on my 1969 mustang were stolen that night, ....what a nightmare. saw them twice after that but i didn't drive .

FZ, once again, takes one of the more absurd slices of pop culture and distills it down, honest and true, to its very essence - and does it to a bitchin' great backing track!

Frank da bomb.
Terry is really in the zone here.... one of my top ten drummers... I love watchin' him play... for that matter... all the motherfuckers that played with Frank!

Gail got her ultimate revenge by making sure the ZFT was broke and as fucked as possible before she died though.
Zoot Allures is my favorite FZ album.
* Frank Zappa protested disco way before Steve Dahl's disco demolition! ☺
And where is "Angel"(the girl) now, in 2021? Probably OD'd on something...damn shame.
The best modern art, I think!
Smiling all over 😊
Őrület ez a hang!
I think I just fell in love ...
IMPRESIONANTE!!!!!!!!!!!
“Leave his hair alone but you can kiss his comb!”
“…that’s the way it goes, so wipe your nose”
Absolutely brilliant!
"They stole my poodle from last night" I assume 'Last night' was the show where Frank did his poodle lecture routine, with the stuffed poodle, and the guy got to keep it after the show, but it got stolen.
@FabKon92 You took ze words right out of my mouth.
Dale Bozzio played Mary on Joe's Garage...To whom I was referring
the people on stage, contact with Zappa, where is the security that stops the crazy people from storming the stage????
unthinkable today.
Frank Zappa - Baby Snakes. That´s the name of the DVD.
"They stole my poodle from last year" I think that is it ,maybe the gate people or someone in the crowd took his fan prop.
Some are not - survived a third or half of the ... remain in the soul of their ideas - they went in another direction - decided to move further
Im not sure really not if that girl and guy were apart of the theatrics. When me and my uncle saw him in the early 90s he was saying during this song it was tradition to throw toilet paper, "Thank god you still have your hand" You can make the conection
love the way he handles the ultra fruitcake at the front of the stage....
CUANTO MAS LO VEO MAS ME GUSTA
Every girl in that audience felt like crying from pure jealousy.
Yup, she was on Frank Zappa ;)
Chicken delight 😷💚🎶
"You never go doodie that's what you think."
"Jerk it" hahaahahah
Zappa such a wild kisser......
Acabo de ver este directo en 2020 y estoy flipando ...
I wish this part of the movie highlighted Roy Estrada's vocal performance...He's definitely my favorite singer and Mother of all time. Listen to him perform "Oh, In The Sky" by The Mothers and I promise that he will be your favorite.
Yeah his high vocals are great I think
I always think it's "THEY STOLE MY POODLE FROM ME!!!", but I may be wrong. ;)
@andymouse123
I think so too .. ;-)
In Russia they are called massovka .. crowd decoy actors ..
some of us survived...w most of our faculties intact!
someone please tell me did he just kiss random fan from crowd? i mean ... lol so epic
Yea.. but only because shes so very high..
and "doodee" is the perfect line.
And frank hated drugs . I wonder if he hated people who did drugs..?
TheHolyReality no he didnt. he didnt approve of their lifestyle but he listened to velvet underground and even did a reading of naked lunch with William S Burroughs. As long as you got your work done, didnt do it on tour and didnt get the cops involved he didnt mind.
TheHolyReality
Apparently, Frank didn't have a "problem" with drugs users. He seemed to appreciate all they brought to the circle.
exactly! he also used to admire Jimi Hendrix a lot... his attitude was a bit like Bukowski's: drugs are not for me, but if they work for you, and you can handle them, you're responsible for what you do... real respect for everyone's freedom, and absolute freedom from "morality"...
Do you mean the film baby snakes is not a live performance but a staged film.I would never have guessed, it all seems so real .
Yeah go Bozzio!!!!
Oh rocky!!!!
That pose..... after he kisses her.... is too good
I want to marry him.
@crazygeek777 No,angel was a 4 night attendent in that series only.Frank already created the lyrics. but remember janet the planet in this movie/concert? she married Denny Wally and they're still married!!
الاجي من الفيس لايك 😂😍👈
Even I feel crying from pure jealousy, though I'm a boy, and that was in the 70s
"they stole my poodles from last ni..."
Jerk It=Disco Love
@SkynyrdX The pink poodle for a two year tour 76-77.Used with the stink foot dialogue.
Time to go doodie!
What does the person in the crowd say when Zappa gives him the microphone?
'They stole my....?'
good time
1:00 kiss and toilet paper! so romantic!
"Just of curiosity, when _was_ the last time you paid your taxes?"
Nice "Duckman" reference. ;)
@rvhawkeye brother of Dale Bozzio(Mary from Joes Garage)and in her band Missing Persons
It’s funny how he moves his microphone I mean Terry Bozzio
@steviebmob hahahahhahh...cool ! my thoughts exactly...that girl aint there!
You can ask him yourself where he bought it.:-)
Look up Tommy Mars on Myspace
I think its "they stole my poodle from last night" but from last night got cut off, in the vid, frank talks about poodles alot for some reason
@academiac9 october 30th and 31st 1977,palladium,14th and second ave.
I don't think this isn't live... You know, music video and stuff...
Zappa was a pretty good six stringer though, hehe!
disco Boy is so NICE
can you get this gig on dvd.?

@andymouse123
She already became - the grandmother...)))
There is not moron - this drug ... The girl is real, - stoned...
Neil Schon played keys for Zappa? Since when?
Then there was another time: Sax-revolution, the idea of universal brotherhood and love ..
people were more liberated .. but most of them - drugs ruined ..
I remember Angel the chick, I was sitting 10 seats over to the left of her
Would be interested in seeing what ever happened to angel.I know janet the planet married denny walley and I believe they're still married!
