      I agree with you 100%. It can really get me. I used to have "overnight sensation" so I loved Camarillo Brillo, funny n funky song. When I ever started getting into his life stuff and I came across the Camarillo Brillo into Muffin Man, think that they played a bunch of times this way (perfect blend) I f****** love it... the guitar work is absolutely insane, improvisational, yet still staying in that key, it's one of my favorite pieces. Both songs on their own, album/studio versions. But these live performances when he spliced them seamlessly is just...badass.

    • @Coldstaht
      @Coldstaht 8 месяцев назад +2

      100% agreed...it is a sick solo...I always loved Camarillo Brillo, was first album I got, (I'm 42, bought overnight sensation about 15 yrs ago) When I found Camarillo brillo into muffin Man with the muffin man solo I just can't get enough

      Yeah, Zappa really knocks it out of the ballpark here. But a huge shout-out needs to go to Adrian Belew, as well, for his guitar theatrics during the early stages of this song. He was on fire, especially considering that he was the only one in the entire band who couldn't read music. 👍

    What took me so long to discover the genius of Frank Zappa? My dad brought me up on greats like Mountain, Cream, Grateful Dead, Traffic, Hendrix, Zeppelin, even introduced me to Black Sabbath. He was very musical, playing nearly every brass instrument, keys, guitar, even violin, and initially wanted to be a primary school band director/teacher until he discovered he loved teaching music, but hated teaching kids... yet he never played any Zappa on our HiFi. I'm perplexed. It's gonna be a Thanksgiving (f**k the pilgrims, faschie false sense of superiority murdering thieves) conversation later today for sure... much like the Thanksgiving I brought up the fat resinous roach that leapt from the Led Zeppelin Live at the LA Forum Rubber Dubber double live bootleg I borrowed from him while I was in college... after years of hearing "If there was weed there, I kicked rocks outta that bad scene, sport!"
